L's Academy: Change the WorLd

OoC: Rofl, I can't believe I let slip his first name. Wait, she knows Just AND Koi's name? Heh, didn't know that. I recalled the mic function because my friend was playing Brain Training but it didn't register his voice, so he shouted 'MATES!' into the mic. Afterwards the game held it against him and refused to acknowledge anything else he said.

IC: Snake nodded and pulled out his DS. It was missing its microphones still. Snake hoped that Diary wouldn't ask about that. He pulled out the stylus and sketched a message on the touchscreen. He showed Diary the message.

What have you got about Just? It read.

Meanwhile, and the gates of the academy...

"Ooh, I can't wait to find Raito again!" Misa said to herself, stepping out of her car, "With all the modeling work I just can't spend enough time with him!"

"Misa-Misa, I'm sure Light misses you as much as you miss him," Matsuda comforted Misa. He absent-mindedly ran his hand through his hair. Misa had demanded that he have it cut, insisting that she couldn't have a messy-looking agent. (OoC: Matsuda's short hair from after the five-year time jump)

Matsuda looked at his belt. His pager was beeping. Matsuda unclipped it and read the message.

"It's from Light!" Matsuda said, smiling. The smile crumbled from his face like dirt as he read the message.

"What's wrong Matsu?" Misa asked.

"It's Kira..." Matsuda said quietly, "He's started killing again." And with that, Matsuda took off into the school.

 

OOC: Lulz xD

IC: Diary read his message in a flash and began to write her own message.

By what I've overheard, Just is working with Koia- She quickly erased this- Koi to gather information about something... or someone.
she sent the message and continued writing.

She sent the message and continued to write a third message before giving Snake a turn.
I know you two were talking about that notebook. The one that kills people. Mello told us about it.

 

Snake read the three messages. He had known Koi was up to something, and he should have guessed that it was him. After all, he had backed Just into a corner the first time he talked to him. Just probably saw him as a threat. Diary's message about the notebook triggered a feeling of dread. The notebook that kills people... Snake had seen it on his first day and it had disappeared when he went back to it. Was that the weapon now in Just's hands? There had been rules... Damnit, why couldn't he remember them? There had been pages of rules, but he'd only seen the first one.

Snake scribbled his own message, You think Just has it? But why should I trust you? For all I know, you're working with him and Koi to trap me. Snake felt in his gut that Diary was on his side, but he didn't want to take the chance.

 

Koian excitedly said a little louder, "Yeah! It was a great movie!" She looked around and added in, "By the way, I made the track team."

 

Responding to this, she wrote,

Would you rather talk with L about this?
With the info I've given you,and the info you've gathered, he could probably figure this out in no time at all.
You could at least be sure you're working with someone you could trust.

She sent all three messages and looked back up at Snake, waiting for a reply.

 

Good. I can tell she's going to be useful.

"Oh wow, awesome!" Just responded. "What event are you running?"

 

L is supposed to have solved all the cases he went on and he managed to convict Higuchi and the rest of the Yotsuba group for mass-murder.
Somehow, I think it would be good to have him on our side.
Then again, it's not like I can trust someone I don't even know.
I just wish I could trust someone here.

Snake sent the four messages to Diary.

"Light? Anyone?" Matsuda called, barging into the school. Misa trailed behind him, slightly miffed by the interruption.

"Matsuda?" Light said, suddenly appearing from the shadows, closely followed by Watari.

"Light, did you get the news?" Matsuda panted, "Kira-"

"Has started killing again," Light finished, "I know. I saw on the news. We have to tell L."

 

L has solved over 3,000 cases
I believe if there's anyone I would have to put my trust in, it'd be him.
By now, they'll have noticed the killings. The sooner we find who's doing this, the better.
We're going to need his help.
Even if we were to find out who Kira was, I doubt many would believe us alone.

By the way, do you have any other evidence against Just?
I know we're probably not the only ones who've noticed him acting a bit strange lately, along with these sudden meetings, and what I've overheard them talking about.

OOC: To L's office!

 

OoC: Indeed, to L's office. I hope Diary gains Snake's trust soon. I like the idea of them being partners.

IC: Snake didn't reply to Diary's messages. He didn't need to. It was obvious what they had to do next. While it seemed odd to 'tell the teacher' that they thought Just was a mass-murdering maniac, but then again other schools didn't have at least four geniuses on their staff. Snake nodded and stood up. Beckoning Diary, he moved towards the door.

Siddoh watched Marcus. It seemed like Marcus was on Destiny's side. Siddoh checked Marcus' lifespan.

Hmmm, Siddoh mused, That's pretty short for someone his age. It looks like he dies in a decade, give or take a few years. Wonder how it'll happen.

Meanwhile...

"Light-kun, what's going on?" Misa asked.

"We have to get to L and tell him about Kira's reappearance," Light explained, jogging towards L's office, Matsuda in tow. He turned to Matsuda, "Do Mogi and Aizawa know?"

Matsuda shook his head, "Nah, I only knew because you paged me. I figure they'll find out soon enough."

Light turned back. If only Dad were here to help, he thought sadly. Soichiro Yagami was currently in a casket beneath a fresh gravestone. The force were still having a little trouble getting over it. At last, the three came to L's office. Light opened the door and the trio burst in.

"L!" Light exclaimed, "Kira's reappeared!"

OoC: Ok, I think I have a 'What If' sort of chronology up. As far as I can concoct, it's like Light magically never regained his memories after capturing Higuchi and thus L is still alive. However, Mello still went rogue to get the notebook and Soichiro was killed in the raid as per the anime. However, Mello magically escaped blame and is now a teacher at L's Academy. WTF, I thought it up and it still doesn't make sense to me.

 

OOC: Lol, two words = Time paradox.

Anyway, I thought of a better backstory for Diary's dislike of Kira. If it comes to it, Diary will tell Snake to make him trust her.

IC: It did seen a bit elementary telling the principal that your classmate was a serial killer, but when the principal is the world's best detective it was common sense. Diary shut her DS and slipped it into her sweatshirt pocket, then followed Snake out of the dorm room to where anyone could guess he was going - L's office.

Mello looked at them in a puzzled manner from his seat behind L's desk, bar of chocolate hanging from his mouth that made him look like he was both puzzled and thinking deeply at the same time. He loudly snapped off the row of squares he was currently biting and layed the rest of the bar down on the desk. "Sorry, L isn't here right now. Something came up. And no, his replacement Near," He explained, spitting out Near's name as though it was venom. "Has gone with him. They could be gone days, or weeks. Possibley months."

"Leave your name and message after the tone. Beep." Matt's chuckle acended from behind the desk, he was leaning against the drawers built into the desk playing on his Nintendo DS.

Mello facepalmed. "Well done Matt, I thought we were going to try and be mature for this for once." He snarled, stressing the last two words for empthasis. He'd thought he'd managed to carry off being a mature and borderline responsible replacement for L, then as always Matt butted in with some random and stupid joke.

 

OoC: Okay xD

I'll wait for Paladin before I post again.

 

Light stopped, Matsuda and Misa barreling into his back. Light steadied himself against the doorframe and stared at Mello and Matt.

"Ryuzaki's gone? But this is important! Kira has resurfaced and has started killing again. Does he have a cell phone or something?" As Light asked the question he realized it was useless. Ryuzaki wouldn't be reached so easily. He'd have to make do with Mello and Matt.

From behind Light, Matsuda eyed Mello carefully. He didn't personally know the man, and something about him creeped him out. Misa, on the other hand, was creeped out by the fact that Mello's haircut made him look like her when viewed from the wrong angle.

"Anyway, we need to get a task force together, even the rest of the SPK," Light explained, "We have to work as fast as possible to get a suspect."

At that moment, Snake and Diary made it around the corner and into that same corridor where the three adults stood.

"Mr. Yagami!" Snake managed to wheeze. Running that whole way was tiring.

"Huh?" Light turned, "What is it?"

"Sir, we..." Snake skidded to a stop in front of Light, "We think we know who Kira is."

 

"I can get hold of the SPK if you wish, though L and Near have gone to help them with a perticularly tricky case. Hence their disappearance." Mello explained. "And my lot aren't exactly well endowed in the brains department." He sighed rubbing his forehead with his fingers. "Well, to be frank my IQ is higher then all of theirs put together."

Matt crawled out from behind the desk and saw at the look on Misa's face as she gazed upon Mello. "The simmalarity is amazing, isn't it? You should see him in make up, then you two could be twins." He laughed before he received a large smack around the head from Mello. "Ouch dude. Only a joke, though it was creepy."

"I wore make-up once as a dare and you swore you'd never bring it up again." Mello snarled under his breath before going back to what he was saying. "So you believe you know who Kira is? Awesome, mind sharing with the rest of us?"

 

Koian nodded and said,"The 100M." She felt like no one was near them anymore. She eyed Just and wispered, "I think they left." Koian was hoping they could talk more about this and 'what if' someone knows, they would need a back up.

 

OOC: How could they be sure there was anyone there in the first place?

IC:
"We've been given reason to believe that one of the students at this very school is Kira. It's lower than a forty percent chance at the moment, but we suspect the student who goes by the alias of Just is Kira." Diary spoke, trailing behind Snake. Why they had to run halfway there she didn't know, but she didn't really seem effected by it.

OOC: Underlined for moar win. It's not there for emphasis or anything.

 

OOC- well people can tell in r/l sooo yeah. .-. i got good hearing so idk or it was just a felling people get you know?

 

OOC: Haha, I know what you mean. I have sucky eyesight so my hearing and other senses are better to make up for it, and I get the 'feeling's all the time. It gets annoying.

"Yea, I think so..." Just said quietly. "I haven't prepared the situation well at all... I heard two sets of footsteps just now... No doubt it was Snake with Diary. I heard him coming at a rather fast pace, then the both of them running down corridor towards the main offices." Just thought quickly. "Follow me."
