"Mind sharing why you think that Diary?" Mello asked, defying every gut feeling and instinct he had in his body so that L wouldn't be disappointed in him when he returned. "After all, you said it yourself, it's only a less then fourty percent chance. Unless you're doing that frustrating thing L does when he says something is less then it is so he doesn't seem up himself or too confident that he tempts fate or whatever. But that doesn't matter because either way we need hard evidence to convict him and take him down."

"Ooh, listen to Mister Responsibillity. Since when were you this un-impulsive Mello? It doesn't become you mate." Matt said snarkily from his kneeling postion that gave him just enough height to get a good veiw at everyone. Then once again he was hit over the head by his best friend, making him slam his goggled head into the woodwork. "Dude! You get your sense of humour removed?!" He exclaimed rubbing his head.

"I just don't believe that it's appropriate to make jokes about this you arsehole." Mello growled irratabley. Taking a ponderous bite from his chocolate bar. "Back to the evidence, you have any? Or is it 'accurate' speculation that still requires hard proof?"

Just took Koi to the room on the floor below them and met with Ryuk.

"About time you showed up." Ryuk said quietly, "I was getting bored."

Just threw him the apples Koi had brought. "Snake and Diary are working together. And by the sounds of their footsteps and the direction they came from I can only assume they're going to the office to tell L." Just said quietly as he handed Ryuk the death note and a few other pieces of evidence that might make him look suspicious in a plastic bag. Ryuk put it under his cloak so no humans could see it. "I'm not giving up ownership, but I need you to hold this for the time being. Once this situation clears up, it should take a good deal of suspicion off of me. I'll leave a note in the usual place for when I want it back. I'll also occasionally leave you a note from now on to take the note book if I need you to. Just use common sense and if you see anyone in my room besides me and Koi don't come in."

Just and Koi left the room, "There's a lot more apples where those came from if you keep this work up." Ryuk nodded and laughed quietly.

Just looked down both the coridor both ways with the door cracked open to make sure no one could see the two of them leaving. He and Koi then calmly returned to Just's room.

 

"Within the last few days, Just has been acting strange. You could ask anyone in his classes, he's been paranoid, and somewhat ADD-like. Another reason is, suddenly he's started to meet up with Koi, that girl who told all of us her full name the first day of class, and together they're gathering information about Snake. He's already been suspicious of Just for quite a while now.
If you're wondering how I know this, it's because Just's dorm is right next to mine." she paused for a moment. "That's what I've gathered. Snake should have something to add..." she explained. "I know this isn't enough to prove someone guilty, but it's a start."

OOC: Don't be surprised if I get Snake and Just mixed up sometime. xD I dunno why, I keep getting them mixed up, but I notice before i submit the post xD

Just and Koi got back into Just's room uninterrupted. "That was close.." he said quietly.

 

"Unfortunatley that information could also indicate that he and Koi and having some sort of romantic affair that they don't wish everyone to know about." Mello sighed frustratedly. "Or that he's home sick and is talking to Koi about but is embarrassed or a number of other things."

"Yeah, like he's embarrassed that he's banging her or something." Matt laughed.

"Seriously, either say something helpful or get the f*ck out of my sight." Mello growled kicking Matt in the ribs with his heavy leather boot.

"God dude, chill out." Matt groaned from his spread eagled resting place on the floor.

"Just shut the f*ck up and stop f*cking my chace to actually do something L won't be p*ssed at me for." Mello muttered angrily. "So yes, that isn't hard proof. We need to know he has a shinigami possessing him, or that he has a Death Note or that he has the eyes." He continued sounding perfectly calm and whatever passes for normal in a Wammy again.

 

'Damn it,' Diary thought. 'To prove that would be to reveal that I have a notebook as well...'
Just then, a thought struck her.
'There's no proof that I've used the notebook... it's not like I can get arrested just for finding it... they can check it themselves... But to give up the notebook would be to lose my memories of it... I can't have that...'

"But that still doesn't explain why he's trying to find information about Snake." she said.

Just turned to Koi, "We're going to need an excuse for this in case we do get caught. I was thinking I could say that I stole money from one of the students down stairs and then panicked and returned it. As for why we're spending so much time together, there are a number of alibis we could come up with for that..." he said quietly.

 

Snake watched in dismay as Mello dismissed their claims despite everything Diary flung at him. He did have the audi track from his PSP, but he could hardly go fetch that now. It probably didn't have anything incriminating on it. Besides, the fact that Mello had almos made him mess himself on his first day hardly helped matters.

Unknown to him, Siddoh felt the same. Mello had always scared him, and even now he felt uneasy in the presence of the blonde man. He noticed their theory get rebuffed. Siddoh wondered, was he allowed to help them? It didn't seem against the rules, so long as he didn't save anyone's life or something. At least she was nice.

Siddoh leaned into Diary's ear, "If you want I could drop my notebook somewhere where they'll find it, if that helps. If you want me to, cough once. If you don't, cough twice."

 

Mello looked thoughtful again for a moment. "That is true... There isn't really any good reason for him to be doing that. But then again he could just be being a nosey little sod. However I do believe you're accurate. At least to a certain point. We need to put them under close but subtle survalience... Or we could put them under obvious survailence and see how they react to the pressure... Or both I surpose... that would really let us catch them off guard if it all panned out." He said, his cold and icy eyes staring directly at Sidoh. He knew that Sidoh could be a little slow but there was no reason that he could of lost the abillity to see him in the time that he was gone. It's not like Mello himself had ever owned a Note to give up, the owner had always been Snider. Mello was only able to see him because of the contact he'd made with the book. He'd never lost the abillity because when it got down to it, there was no reason for him not to see. Something he'd made certain of when he was reading the rules through one time. He was just waiting to see how long it took Sidoh to realise that. It was also rather entertaining that he now knew it was Diary with another Note. He didn't think she was Kira, she certainly didn't seem the type. And she didn't seem the type to be the type even though she didn't seem the type. "Any other suggestions on getting gard evidence like the presence of a Shinigami or usage of the note?"

Diary noticed Mello looking not straight at her, but a bit off to the side, like there was someone there. Her eyes darted to the side for a split-second, but the only thing there... was Sidoh.
'Wait... Can he see Sidoh?' Diary thought. '****, if he can that means he knows I have a notebook... I should have seen this coming, now that I think of it. Sidoh did mention Mello to me before.'
"If we put them under obvious surveillance, they'll probably just hide the pressure, and I don't think we need to get any other students who might notice into this. I'd say subtle surveillance would be our best option."

 

Just thought of something, Crap, what if they bugged the room...

"Ok, good practice. I think we're almost ready to rehearse our lines on camera now." he said as he pulled out a camera from his backpack. He wrote a note and handed it to Koi.

This room is clearly not safe to talk in anymore. We will not discuss the notebook in here, at least for the time being. I'll give you a note telling you where we can write names and discuss the notebook later once I find a suitable location. Follow my lead with this conversation.

"One of the guys I met here told me that he knows a great place to set up props and whatnot. We should stop by there tomorrow, since this room is kinda small for acting."

 

"That would be my gut instinct." Mello nodded looking back towards Diary. "I hope I can rely on Light and Matsuda to set up a camera or two in every dorm room so not to arouse suspicion. Try and make sure there are no blind spots. And take this with you, you may find it of some help." He said picking Matt up by the scruff of his neck and shoving him towards the others. "He may not seem it but he's smart. Also I'd like to know what you lot are actually doing and he won't fabricate anything. He knows I'll kick him in the nuts if he does."

"Now that's just harsh." Matt muttered as he regained his footing and rubbed his neck.

"Tough luck Matty." Mello said rolling his eyes. "Now, if there's nothing else to discuss please get on with this soon as possible. And Diary, may I have a word with you. I belive we may have someone we need to talk about."

 

OOC- sorry i went to go get something for 3 hours x.x

Koian nodded and went on with it, "Yeah. This room is way to small for acting. We need a bigger place and it is less loud." Koian wrote down on a peice of paper.

It will be hard to disable alot of some buggs in this room but i should let them be. If they find they have been disabled they may think that someone did it.

She passed it to Just quietly.

Just nodded. "Exactly. Come on, let's go for a walk quick, I got the camera, that's basically all I needed."

 

"Alright." Koian said walking to the door and opening it. She walked out and followed Just.

 

Just and Koi walked to the left, towards the main offices. Let's see how they react when Koi and I pass the main offices. They won't be expecting that... Just whispered, "Follow my lead."

They walked past the offices casually, looking at the large crowd inside L's office and pretended to look somewhat confused.

 

"Sure," she responded simply.
Although Diary knew perfectly well what Mello was talking about, she maintained a curious look on her face. Suddenly, she caught something out of the corner of her eye.
"Oh, hello," she said to Just and Koi, then turning back toward Mello.
'They know why Snake and I came here... it should be common sense to at least Just.'
As others began to leave, she walked closer to the desk at which Mello was sitting. One could tell she was predicting every word he was about to say just by looking at her face, the fake look of curiosity gone now that nobody else was there to see it.

 

"We saw a crowd in L's office, is something going on?" he asked, feigining curiosity.

 

"We were just here to talk about Kira, he's started his killings again, if you haven't heard. But now it seems everyone's leaving," she responded, turning to Just.
'Like he doesn't know what's going on...'
