Really guys, what else could Vanitas have been that wouldn't have been anymore cliche?

Riku? that would have been too obvious from the trailers.
Xehanort? the apprentice of Master Xehenort ending up as the apprentice of Ansem under the same name, not really original.
Xion?! Just, no.

I think Sora was a interesting choice, especially after they swayed us with making it seem it might have been a Riku lookalike.

 

A new character with no connection to already established characters.

 

But we always knew Vanitas was going to have the apperance of a previous character and where would the connection be with Ven if Vanitas didn't look like someone we already knew.

...Guys...It was kinda EXTREMELY obvious that he was going to look like a black haired Sora. Did the part where he has a coonection to Ven NOT put two and two together for the rest of you? -_o'

Wonder if Sora will get Vanitas's regalia as a new Anti-Form? Minus the helmet. Would be more awesome than looking like a heartless.

 

Actually, I think it would have scared the crap out of everyone if, underneath the helmet, it was Kairi's face.

I'm still worried Sora might at some point become something similar to Vanitas.

 

Or you just think of really strange stuff. I don't see how it was obvious at all that he was going to look like a black haired Sora just because he had some connection to Ven. Looking like Sora because he's connected to Ven who looks just like ROxas and having black hair because he obviously has something to do with the darkness seems like a farfetched thing to think up without more evidence.
But kudos for getting it right, if you did.

The suit? Doubt it. It's a thing of Darkness (right?) so Sora wouldn't use it.
Besides, it's already been used.

There's no doubt in my mind that I would have pissed myself and turned off the game the moment I saw that.

As he grows up, his face starts to look like Vanitas'.

So Vanitas isn't a black haired Sora, Sora grows up to look like a brown haired Vanitas
in the same way that Ven isn't identical to Roxas, but Roxas looks identical to Ven because Ven and Vanitas came first.

 

Actually I meant Sora might become some maniacal darkness user during whatever journey he's on. It might happen.

 

Rofl, if it really was Kairi I guarantee we'd have ALOT more complaints then we're getting from him being a Sora look alike.

 

Oh yeah, when I heard he had the same japanese va as sora's i knew he would look like sora thats 2 correct guesses.
