Article Video As much as people may be attracted to fictional characters, actually marrying one of them is over the top in my eyes. Thoughts on the 'marriage'?
Heh. heh heh. hehheheh. Sorry, this is just really funny. I now pronounce you husband and pixels. You may now 100% the bride. That's way over the top. I guess I can look at it this way: no offspring, so small chance of him passing this on. I think.....?
Yea, I read this a while ago. Made me laugh my ass off. I mean its one thing to be attracted to a game character but to actually marry one is just crazy. Random thought: Will he divorce his wife for cheating on him because alot of other people play this game?
Yeah, this is what I figured. No one read the thing all the way through. He already said he knows what he's doing is physically and legally impossible. It's symbolism; he likes the idea of the character, her personality, not the actual pixelated person. And he wanted to send a message; that her archetype is better than most girls he knows. And I salute him for that. I just hope he can find an actual girl like the one in the game.
That's a relief, i was raging until i read this post. I would be incredibly pissed off if this guy was actually getting the legal benefits and tax deductions for marrying a freaking character.
I've been dating Vivian from Paper Mario for awhile (she's a good kisser). I fail to see why this man is being mocked so harshly. Okay, expected jokes aside, I'm glad I read this all the way through. I'd probably do something similar if I was crazy enough (I'm in the same situation with chicks these days...).
The title of that article is kind of misleading. It does make someone assume the guy legally married a bunch of pixels. xD That aside, the guy doesn't seem that odd to me. There are some concepts of characters in games or books etc that people adore and could wish were real. He simply really admires the type of character this girl is and how she is ideal to him. It is silly to 'marry' the girl but I do get where he's coming from and hope someday he pulls away some from the computer and can go out and find a real girl that has some of the characteristics he wants. Expectations are a bad thing in many ways but we all want some things in a desired partner. I wouldn't call him delusional or anything, but would say that maybe some people do need some assistance in being more sociable or they do get left behind. Plenty of us out there have trouble finding the ideal 'other' because we are either not looking or we are expecting too much from someone else.
This is actually a bit creepy... I think it's creepy enough just to hear people say a character is hot, but marrying one because of a few good qualities of it's 'personality'? He needs to go out and find a real woman to love. And the fact that he says he knows it's physically and legally impossible still doesn't justify it.
I laughed after reading this. I mean seriously. Pixels? You CAN'T be seriously. I thought this was fake for a few minutes, then I was like "WHAT!?" Seriously, who would even want to marry fake characters? I used to joke with my friends about "hot" anime characters and wanting to marry them, but I never knew someone actually would take marrying a fake character seriously.
