Music is amazing. These great songs and artists can make how you feel from terrible to ok, I was always told as I was little 'Music calms the savage beast' and I must say, it is absolutely true. At one of the worst times of my life so far all I would do everyday is take my iPod and put up my headphones, put on shuffle, and crank up the volume full blast. It wouldn't make me feel as bad as I would've without. Those absolutely perfect songs make you almost, or do make you smile, because no matter what your feeling, those songs and those moments when you first hear the first note or lyric, are absolutely priceless.

It's quite amazing reading all these posts and seeing how music really helps people through their tough times and stops them doing drastic things. Yes I am one of them. I always remember through all the tough times I've had there was a song I listened to frequently as it explained exactly how I felt, it was just relieving I suppose to hear I wasn't the only one. Music does give me hope, when I'm feeling low and one of my favourite songs comes on, or something really stupid I can't help but laugh.

I always have my iPod on shuffle and when there is a song that keeps coming on (out of the 900 songs I have) I believe God is trying to tell me something through this song, that's probably the only way He feels he can reach me. So when that happens I brood over the lyrics and what it means and try to follow it. I don't like the thought of it being mere coincidence.

I recently found this band called Poets of the Fall and when I listened to their music I just melted inside, the singers voice, the lyrics and the rhythm of the song combined affected me like no other songs could. I find the lyrics to be quite important because they have really interesting meanings behind them, and as I enjoy to analyse things I find the words interesting.

Music controls my emotions a lot. When I'm feeling down and I listen to a sad song, even that helps me vent because it's matching how I'm feeling. If I listen to something inspirational or happy, it really helps me pick up my mood a lot too. I honestly could not imagine not having music in my life :c it's the perfect way to vent, it's very inspirational for when I draw, and it helps keep me going when I feel like I can't.

Sometimes I feel music is the only thing I can really rely on....
It means a lot to me,and, though its weird,I like every type of music, from rock to dance, pop to rap.
And theres always a song out there that describes exactly how Im feeling,or can cheer me up.
I never stop singing, and do get in trouble for it(which I think is pretty unfair, but yeah)
    I just love,and need music I guess :D

I don't know why everyone says music controls their emotions... I use it to calm myself down or to listen to when I'm board or writing a story; I have a lot of pretty inspirational songs that I use continuously. I'm glad that it exists, because it's something of a salvation - but only temporarily, because when the music stops the problems are still there.

(oh, I really like that...I'm going to use it...)

I know it seems kinda cliché to say it, but I seriously believe that music is my life. I love it. I would definately be a very different person without it. I've been learning music since I was about 5, and it allows me to express myself in ways that can only be meagerly matched by my abilities with words. I don't know what it is about music, but it just seems to be a universal language. Everyone understands when a song is sad or happy, because you can just tell, no matter what language it's in. I seriously think that it's music that has stopped me from becoming insane this year. School has really been piling on the pressure, and without listening to music in the background when I study or on my mile walk to and from school every morining, I don't think I would me able to face the day in all honesty.

Whenever i feel bad or mad or whatever i listen to a song that reflects my mood and I instantly start to feel a bit better. It's a good thing to have and it's a form of self-expression.

Music inspires my imagination, really. :B

Whenever I am writing something, I usually listen to music and find that some lyric or some melody actually gives me an idea and inspires me to go with it. And I also find that it can be reallyreallyreally motivating; a couple days ago I was down, and my iPod turned on Row Row Fight the Power  and eventually I found myself feeling a lot better. ...And rapping along with it. >>
