4. Feel free to make all the characters you ****ing want. But keep up with them, k?
5. Romance = Purple Gene-13 (get it?) Swearing's alright.
6. please, Please, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU'RE TAKING A BREAK OR QUITTING. I'll be glad to give you a recap when you return, but if I have to assume you're quitting, your characters are up for grabs...or death.
7. You cannot make a regular ARC Officer and ARCee. You can make an ARC Captain, but only with my permission.
8. ARC Officers and ARCees will be used a lot in here. If you fight them, control them yourselves.
9. If you want to Battle another Player, for whatever reason, you can either challenge them in character or in an OOC (use the discussion thread for that)
10. Phasing abilities can't be as strong as when the Alter uses its own abilities and can only be used if the Alter is in its Emblem.
11. You must fill out every part of your Character Form. You can post your filled-out form here or in the discussion thread. If you're not sure about something, ask in the discussion thread or PM/VM me.
12. No more than one Alter per Player (duh), but you can play someone without an Alter or a Player who lost his Alter to a Rogue.
13. Your character doesn't have to be "good" or "evil." He can have his own agenda. The only organized team here is the Rogues and the ARC Captains.
14. When you post your character form here, type "Reckless Fire" somewhere in your post (Type "Drastic my soul" if you post it in the discussion section)

Personality: Cocky and angry. Leo knows he's a great Battler and will show it. He rarely seems to care for others and that's almost always true. He has a short temper. He doesn't just get mad, he gets mad and even.
Biography: Leo was born to parents who were both Players with his dad being an ARC Officer. When he was eight, he witnessed the Ulti-Battle between Jenuvia and the horse Alter. When Jenuvia started to lose the fight, Leo made eye contact with her. For some reason, this gave the giant Alter a second wind and she lunged at the horse, immediately disappearing in a flash of purple light. Five years later, when he was thirteen, his mother was caught in the middle of a clash between ARC Officers and Battling Players. Despite her Alter's attempt to protect her, she died. Since then, the relationship between Leo and his father has been rocky, with both avoiding each other as much as they can out of awkwardness.

A year ago, he awoke to find Jenuvia in his bed. Jenuvia claimed to be his Alter. His father seemed glad that his son was a Player, but their relationship was unfixable. Leo quickly discovered his knack for Battling, winning most of his Battles. Despite Jenuvia's true form being somewhat similar to the giant Lamia from the Ulti-Battle, it was too different for a connection to be made, but Leo made it after making eye contact with her the first time she was mortally wounded. He kept this secret between him and his Alter, since ARC would want them both if anyone knew. A week ago, he fought a Player who brutally beat him and called themselves a Rogue team, but instead of stealing Jenuvia, the Rogue Player and Alter disappeared. Leo is determined to find the Player who beat him, wanting revenge.

Alter Disguise: A pale-blue-skinned woman with long turquoise hair. She has a dark blue tank top and silk pants with a scaly design on them. She walks barefoot.
Alter Abilities: Extremely fast and agile. Her claws are strong enough to rip through solid surfaces. She spits venom that causes whatever it touches to turn to stone temporarily (the effect is reversed when the other Alter returns into its Emblem). She also has a blue spear similar to the one in her "Other" picture but with a smaller tip; she pulls out the spear from her throat.
Alter Personality: Jenuvia loves to fight and is somewhat sadistic. She has no memory of her life, prior to waking up by Leo, including memory of the Ulti-Battle. The only person she seems to care for is Leo, quickly tossing anyone else aside.
Alter Emblem: A red jewel that hangs from a necklace.
Phasing Abilities: When Jenuvia is in her Emblem, Leo can turn his hands into weaker versions of her claws and summon her spear.

Personality: Cold, serious, stern. Tends to act apathetic towards his son.
Biography: Jet volunteered to become an ARC Officer at a young age out of fear he wouldn't have his own Alter. He married a fellow Player young and they both went to work for ARC. Shortly after the birth of Leo, he was promoted to ARC Captain and his ARCee started developing its own personality. His wife died during a clash between ARC Officers and Players, causing him to be serious in his work. However, he tries to encourage Leo to Battle and become stronger.

Alter Name: Radical
Alter Battle Form: Mostly the same as every other ARCee, except with streaks of red and an additional pair of lights on his back. Instead of a pistol and club, Radical has all tasers as his weapons.
Alter Disguise: N/A
Alter Abilities: Extreme speed due to his wheel-like feet. Its tasers has long range and he's able to control them through the air.
Alter Personality: Radical rarely talks, but loves to laugh. He laughs at everything whether its good or bad, which makes everyone feel weird around him as he seems insane. When he talks, he speaks with a low robotic voice. Radical loves to move around.
Alter Emblem: A police-like badge that all ARC Officers have. As a Captain, this badge has a purple ring around as opposed to the solid gold ones of regular Officers.
Phasing Abilities: Jet's forearms grow tasers. While he can't control them in the air, he uses them as whips.

Personality: Childish and playful. Always full of insulting quips. He enjoys taunting others, usually as a battle tactic, to which has many from a strategic mind, which is the closest thing to a serious side he has.
Biography: Blake was born normal like everyone else, but back then he had brown hair. At the age of 11 he got his Alter and starting battling with school friends but a year later it became banned. Enraged that his fun was cut off from the Ulti-Battle event he continued to fight with other school friends and eventually got a lust for battle. To signify his love for Alter fighting he dyed his hair purple to match the gene. 10 Years later he still fights in underground battles and has a great understanding of his Alter’s abilities but has started to feel like taking it a step further. It just wasn’t fun enough anymore.

Alter Abilities: Very sturdy and hard to knock down despite it’s appearance. It also packs a powerful physical attacks using it’s fists and feet thanks to the use of it’s wings to let it remain airborne while attacking. It is about as fast as an average human on foot and the average bird in the air. It is also able to summon dark purple energy on it’s black tattoos that can be used with physical attacks on his hands or feet for a boost in power or thrown on top of a projectile-like feather for a ranged attack.
Alter Personality: Very noble but believes himself to be above others, similar to an angel. Tends to remain stoic unless his honour is threatened where he shows his arrogance in full. He is still somehow able to put up with Blake as he sees his “true self beyond the childish persona” and thus shows faith in his Player.
Alter Emblem: A black, leather left hand glove with a grey-blue marking similar to Somnion’s battle form’s black tattoos running along the back. The colours are the colours of Somnion in opposite placing.
Phasing Abilities: Able to summon Somnion’s dark purple energy and feather-projectiles.

It does sound interesting so far. I'd need a more outline of a plot to work with. I like details a little too much sometimes. It might have to be your call for setting since I can't pick and choose one (other than eenie-meenie-miny-moe style)

Well, I have the bad guy's ultimate goal in mind (this is going to be a secret for now), I just have to figure out how they'll go about it, depending on the setting.

I'm leaning to using a modern and fantasy setting together.
Like it starts out in the real world and eventually goes into a different world (Source of the Alters?)

Maybe before the battle of giant Alters, normal Players couldn't use their Alter's abilities. Then after the giant battle, a mysterious group of Players showed up who could use it. Everyone else realized they could too, mysteriously. The mysterious group would be the bad guys. They're a lot stronger than normal Players-Alters groups. They keep challenging normal Players and beating them, but that's all they do at first. Then they start stealing Alters from Players, something that should be impossible.
In a modern setting, they would do this through the underground battling and no one knows why.
My character will recognize his Alter as one of the giant ones, but it'll have no memory of the battle and would be normal sized and not as strong as it was before. He got beat by one of the bad guys and is trying to find him for a rematch.
If I use both settings, eventually the good guys will end up in a different world where the bad guys are looking for certain things and it'd be the good guys' job to stop them.

 

well, I like the ideas you're coming up with! the mysterious group of individuals stealing alters, they could maybe be doing some betting with "reckless" players in the underground, and the players lose the bet? also, they could steal alters that seem to be really strong?

 

That could be it, with the bet being their Alters.

Here's a very rough draft of the plot, put together in a few minutes.


Several decades ago, a meteor crashed on Earth. Fortunately, it didn't land near civilization, but on an uninhabited island off the coast of the country. Five things happened because of that:
1. A seemingly never-ending amount of dust from the impact entered the atmosphere and spread out across the globe.
2. A government agency called [ARC] immediately flew to the island to recover the meteor and set up base, building a large building inside the impact crater.
3. The animals on the island went crazy, attacking anything that moved. This greatly declined the wildlife population.
4. The animals around the island also went crazy. Fishes constantly jumping out of the water on boats, sharks attacking whales, whales ramming ships. Birds around the island flying into planes and diving at boats. It was if the animals made some kind of violent security system.
5. Aliens invaded the planet.

Well, aliens are what they're assumed to be. The first aliens appeared out of nowhere. People were going about their day, working, studying, walking, hanging out, whatever, when certain people started glowing, emitting a purple aura. The aura then moved away from their body and took shape, forming another creature. This was called [The Scare]. People ran for their lives, other people attacked, some called the police, but everyone believed that the people who had glowed were responsible. They accused them of being monsters themselves, or being infected and used as a way for the monsters to arrive. The monsters however, did not attack. They simply protected the person from which they had come, attacking only those who attacked the person, whom the monsters called their [Player]. The [Players] were scared of the monsters and agreed to be taken into custody to find out what was going on; the monsters followed. Studies were done and it was revealed that the Players were human after all, but they had something weird in their DNA, a strange gene. The gene was named the [Purple Gene] after the color of the glow. It also seemed the monsters were somehow connected to the person. It was then discovered that a very large number of the population had this new gene. All of the monsters said they came from a different planet, calling it [Crystyl], and called themselves [Alters]. After several years, with more [Player] and monster incidents, things were different.

Many people had their own personal [Alter]. [Alters] on the street, in the marketplace, or at home were common. Satellites and shuttles were sent into space to find [Crystyl], but with no luck. Every [Alter] claimed they didn't know where their planet was in relation to Earth. [Players] and [Alters] were so common, that it was impossible to take them all into custody. The government just had to let them become citizens of the country. A law passed, requiring every [Player] to register and every [Alter] to register along with their [Player], naming all powers and abilities it had. [ARC] was in charge of this. [ARC] also had its own police force, [Players] who had their [Purple Gene] modified. Every [ARC Officer] had the same [Alter], called [ARCees] by the general public. [ARC Officers] used their [ARCees] to take care of criminals who used [Alters]. Several years later, [Battling] became an activity. [Battling] happened between two or more [Players] who used their [Alters] to fight each other. As long as no damage was done to property or to the [Players] themselves, this was alright. It wasn't long before people started gambling on [Battles]. It became a sport. [Alters] had three forms that made it easy for them live amongst humans:
1. Their true form, which they used for battle.
2. A disguise which could range from a humanoid being to an animal.
3. They could reside within an item which could be anything from a cell phone to a key to a ring or any other object.
When changing forms, the [Alter] emits a purple aura. When leaving or entering its item, it turns into a purple light that enters/exits the object.


The world adjusted to life with [Alters] rather quickly. The [Scare] was 60 years ago. All of a sudden, [The City] was damaged beyond repair. It all started one night when two giant [Alters] suddenly appeared downtown. These Alters were the size of skyscrapers. One resembled a mystical Lamia, the torso of a woman with a body of the serpent. She was covered in golden armor with a golden mask and golden scales, with pitch black curly hair. Her hands were sharp talons and wielded a large spear. The other was a [I have no idea whatsoever, this Alter goes to whoever helps me and wants to make the RP with me] They were [Battling] with the Lamia constantly wrapping itself around the other [Alter]. No one could see their [Players]; not that people tried, though. When monsters of that size appear and they're angry and fighting, you do one thing and one thing only: run. Which is exactly what everyone did. Well, not everyone. Some were very unlucky and caught in the crossfire. Others were also unlucky and were stuck in the buildings that were destroyed in the battle. There was also one more person who didn't run: An 8 year old boy who was entranced by the fight. His parents lost him in the commotion. The boy stood in the streets, his eyes never leaving the fight.

Near the end, the Lamia [Alter] started losing the fight. The [Other Alter] slammed it on the ground, its head landing near the boy. The Lamia's head tilted to the side as it started losing consciousness and its eyes met the boy's. The boy was far from scared, despite being the size of the large [Alter's] pupil. The Lamia's mask was cracked just enough for the boy to see the redness of lips. After a few seconds at staring into the boy's eyes, the Lamia started glowing a bright purple. Catching its second wind, the Lamia jumped up, a loud hiss escaping its concealed mouth. It grabbed its spear and lunged at the [Other Alter]. Both Alters then disappeared in a flash of purple light.

Believing the event somehow started as a regular [Battle], the government banned [Battles]. Of course, when something's illegal, people just do it secretly. [Battling] became an underground sport. Another strange thing that happened since then is [Altering]. Ever since the giant battle, dubbed [The Ulti-Battle] by [Players], [Players] have been able to access their [Alter's] abilities themselves, as long as the [Alter] is inside its item.

It's been ten years since [The Ulti-Battle]. The boy who watched the fight is now 18. One day, he wakes up to find a woman in his bed with him. Freaking out, he jumped out of the bed, freaking out even more when he realized the woman was light blue in skin color. She had dark blue pants, with a scaley pattern and was wearing a regular t-shirt in the same color. Her hair reached her mid back and was turqouise. Around her neck hung a thin chain with a red jewel hanging from it. The lady was calm and assured him she was his [Alter] and manifested in his sleep. She called herself Rubira and said she had no memory prior to waking up in his bed. The red jewel hanging from her neck (she assured him it wasn't a regular ruby) was the object in which she resided and she gave it to him. In his first underground [Alter Battle], she took her real form: A blue human-sized Lamia, with no mask or golden armor and a different version of the other Lamia's spear. It wasn't long before the boy realized Rubira was the giant Lamia from ten years before. Knowing she would be wanted by [ARC] and he would be in trouble for being her [Player], he kept that information a secret. The boy quickly got the hang of [Battling] and became really good at it. He quickly let it go to his head.

After [The Ulti-Battle], certain [New Players] have challenged other [Players] to a [Battle]. These [New Players] have beaten the other [Players] brutally. In some cases, the [New Players] have actually made a bet before the [Battle] and somehow stole the other [Player's] [Alter]. The boy and Rubira were victims of this, except Rubira wasn't stolen, just brutally beaten. The [New Player and Alter] who did it disappeared after taunting them.

What's in [BRACKETS] are words I haven't finished yet and are just placeholders until I think of something.

• ARC - Alter Reconnaissance Committee. The government agency in charge of Alters and Players. Alters and Players register to them. They're headquarters is on the island, around the crater where the meteor crashed, protected by the crazy animals.
• The Scare - The panicking of the people after the meteor's impact. It started when the first Alters manifested around the globe.
• Purple Gene - A gene that humans evolved after inhaling the dust that spread across the globe from the meteor. Every human has this gene. It gives people the power to use Alters.
• Crystyl - The Alter's home planet, fueling the theory that they're aliens. The human race has yet to find its location and Alters don't know how to get to it from Earth.
• Alter - The creature/being/alien/monster that Players make. It is a sentient entity with a mind of its own and has special abilities. They are mentally connected to their Players.
• ARC Officer - Police officers under the employ of ARC. They're all Players and are sent out to deal with Player and Alter situations. Their purple genes were modified and forcefully activated, giving them identical Alters with no individuality.
• ARCees - Alters of ARC Officers. Identical and have no mind of their own. They're robotic with dark blue designs and wheels for feet. Their heads are spheres that flash blue and red, like police sirens.
• Battle - A match between Players using their Alters. Used to be legal until the Ulti-Battle. They're run underground now.
• The City - Where the RP takes place. It's going to be fictional.
• Other Alter - The Alter that fought Rubia at the Ulti-Battle.
• The Ulti-Battle - The name given to the Battle between a giant Rubira and other Alter. This led to Battles being banned and people gained the access to their Alter's abilities.
• Altering - when a Player uses their Alter's abilities. Can only be done when the Alter is inside its special object. The power isn't at full power. They can summon their Alter's weapons or even changing physical parts of their body.
• New Players - Players who challenge other Players and brutally beat down the Player and win. In some cases, they have actually taken the other player's Alter.

Everything's still subject to change. I need a co-owner for it for a certain part. Someone to control the Other Alter. And I have to think up of names for it and stuff. If more people get interested, I'd work on starting it.

Actually, everything seems fine to me. But for names... Well, those seem fine to. But if ever you are stuck on name, come to me. I have an overactive imagination that may be able to help you.

 

Hmm I'm interested too. The underground battles, the image i get in my head when you described them is kinda like pokemon battle stages. Is that what you had in mind or am I off?

 

To me, it's more like Digimon had a baby with Pokemon. Thus, here we are.

 

That's what I was thinking. It's really interesting and I'd like to be apart of it. but, y'know I just wanted to be sure I had the right image of the battles cause it sounds like that's where most of the story is centered.

I actually have someone else with names right now, but if you think of anything, let me know. I would like to change Alters, since that's from an anime. and maybe Battling and The Ulti-Battle. At least something for The City, I've been t hinking something with the word Neo in it.

Well, I was thinking just whereever they could have it. An alley, subway tunnel, whatever. If they had a specific spot, authorities would be able to catch them easier.


EDIT: How about Fates for Alters and Neobridge for the city?

Yeah, like a mixture of Digimon and Pokemon. The Alters don't really need orders from the players, but it's a co-op thing. Players are like the coaches instead of like a pokemon trainer.

 

Is there a specific way the Alters have to look or can they look how ever we want them to look? I have an idea for one but I don't know if you have any specifications for them... She's small anyway... ^-^'''

 

Pretty much anything. I'm leaving that pretty open so you can get creative. Hell, it can be a floating sword for all I care, but it'd have to have a mind of its own.
