We've had these guys for a few days now. Finally got a few pictures of them. Time to share I think! Alvin and Gwen (Well... her backside) Gwen Riley (below) and Titch (above). Alvin Click them for bigger versions of the photos! XD
They're freaking adorable. Just keep em away from dogs. A friend of mine used to own a ferret, and his dog somehow managed to eat up the little guy.
We've got three dogs too, but they're as daft as anything. They actually all get on pretty well lol :P
Do they stink a lot? I wouldn't mind owning one for a pet, but my parents are always complaining about how they stink up the whole house
I hold their preys as a pet...(Rats), but I always loved rats and ferrets because you can take them with you to shopping malls and stuff..
Well, first of all... you shouldn't go for just one Ferret if you're gonna have them as pets. They need to be kept in pairs at least. And yes, they can stink, but it's not too bad, especially if you keep the cage clean (of course), so... yeah. One thing is when they get excited, they can start to smell more cause they excrete a hormone or something or other... but that's it. It usually fades as well. Some people keep Ferret's in a shed though which may be a better alternative if you have smell issues.
I can see it now, just walking through town with a ferret on your shoulder xD Anyway, they're so sweet, and I have to say the names are awesome. Alvin, Gwen, Titch and Riley. I don't know why, I just love them ^^
I'm just glad you didn't name them Alvin, Simon, and Theodor. I know those are chimpmunks, but you never know
Yup yup. Settled in no problems. They are a right set of energetic little fluff balls lol We didn't actually name them. We adopted them, so they already had their names. But since they're already use to them, we didn't feel right changing them. That, and yeah, the names are really likable anyway :P And yeah Enzy, Gwen already likes to sit on shoulders anyway lol XD
>.>b Good job! They're really cute, mate! Good that they've settled in. I take it there's been no more carnage with the dog's tongue?
Nah mate, it's all fine now lol Although the dogs get slightly jealous when we pay attention to the Ferret's, so it's a constant switch back and forth until the dogs start to realise they are still loved lol
I once had a ferret, Roy but the poor thing died by a flu while my mother's other half was looking after it while me and her were awya for the week, plus he was getting old, didn't have him as a shoulder buddy or that though, he tended to love nibbling too much.
