Digital Art not so much an icon dump as an icon sprinkle (lots of sora)

I mean it's literally just 5 icons.

Just messing around with shitloads of bloom and metal textures to enhance the tone of the brown hues in Sora's hair. The AntiSora kind of throws the color scheme off. All icons from this artist.

 

I like what you did with the last four, though I kinda feel like they're SUPER close-up. As far as the Anti-Sora one, the colors are not bad but the placement feels really off. Your eye is drawn to a lot of weird places at once. You may consider rotating it counter-clockwise just the tiniest bit and framing Sora's head in either the upper left or upper right corners. Aside from that well done, definitely accomplished your stated goal with the hair.

Yeah, that's lookin' better already. I'd kinda like to see how it looks in the top-right tho.

 

It's kind of hard for me to move it to the top right without losing a good bit of resolution, and cutting off some of Sora's head. The Rotate feature in Picmonkey cuts off the photo at it's original edges; it's really stupid.

 

Ahh I see. That sucks. Oh well, it still looks good.

 

I gave it one more shot, and added some textures.

 

Try zooming out. They all suffer from floating head syndrome (a head without context) and lack negative space.

Original was better. The texture seemed to add weird static-like bars.

Have you tried GIMP?

 

I kind of like the static bars in the last edit, especially considering he's a video game character. I definitely think the last anti-sora looks the best out of all the attempts. These are great starts Teddy.

I was actually aiming for that, since AntiForm is kind of a game-breaker.

Yes. I hate it. It's as hard to handle as PS.

As far as I can tell, these two are related. If your program has too many limits, putting up with a more complex program is probably the way to go. Complexity is not much of a price to pay for flexibility.

 

i agree with everyone here mostly the floating head syndrome can really ruin a piece despite how nice the effects are around it

that being said these still look very nice i like how you kept it simple and clean

I like your last attempt at Anti sora, the bars help to not draw attention to white edges in his hair and the coloring seems better, second one looks kinda weird bc it's like, just his face and nothing else (????), next two look great, nice placement and stuff, the last one is so nice.
overall good job buddy, I'll take the last attempt at Anti if that's cool.

 

Oh my the 3 avatar where Sora smiles in a close-up xD I love them ! It's so nostalgic, the colours are amazing, warm and nice.
It's a simple thing but good job ! I would love to see more, what you can do with other characters =)
