Mya smiled as they continued to dance. My my. I never knew you could dance so well.

 

He laughed and spun her around and dipped her low to the floor, "There's a lot of things you don't know about me." His face was close to hers, his breath caressing her cheek.

 

Mya smiled and touched the side of his face. Is that so? Show me then, o talented one.

 

Zane laughed lightly, "All in good time, my dear, all in good time." He lifted her back up and continued dancing.

 

Mya followed along with Zane. She then did a twirl and fell into his arms. Looks like we have many things in common.

 

He grinned, "You couldn't be more right." He pulled her up and lifted her into the air as the music spiked. Setting her down on her feet, he caught a glance of Zee's brown head, "Zee?" Almost as soon as he'd seen him, he was gone.

 

Mya squealed in delight as he lifted her. She then heard him say Zee and she looked around. She didn't see him. I don't know Zane. Must be your imagination.

 

He frowned as the dance pulled him away from where he'd seen him, "No, I'm almost positive that was him. But he did tell us he'd be here, so it shouldn't be a surprise." His thoughts wandered to where Zee could be going. He tried to focus on the dance and Mya. He put a hand on the small of her back and pulled her tight against him and turned small circles.

 

Mya purred in pleasure and closed her eyes. Don't worry about him. He can handle himself.

 

Zane smiled down at her, letting Zee do his own thing, "You're enjoying this? Dancing is such a pain."

 

Mya smiled. Why a pain? I'm here aren't I? Shouldn't that be enough for you to enjoy?

 

He smiled, "I'd rather enjoy you at home, in my bed." he whispered down to her as they passed another couple dancing.

 

Mya smirked. You're still the same. She continued to pace with him until a loud bong from a bell was made. A herald stepped out. Ladies and gentlemen. May I present to you, the proud host of this ball, John Franchesco! As John stepped out, everyone started to applaud until he led his hand up. Thank you citizens for coming. It's an honor for all of you to be here. Since we're here, I'll hold a little competition. Whoever performs the best dance with their partner can come with me and have a private chat. Maybe I'll hire you. May the best dancer win! He bowed and sat down.

Mya looked back at Zane. Hope you can catch up to me. I'm not ready to lose.

 

Zane shook his head, "Oh brother..." his eyes lit up with a determined gleam, "Though a private chat would be eventful if we won." He spun her into his embrace and smiled, "I do believe we will be chatting with young Lord Franchesco soon enough, my dear." Zane spotted Zee off to the side with a young lass he's never seen before. Her fair face wasn't that of an assassin's. A girl from town maybe? He shook his head, he'd be getting close to Franchesco if he had to murder Zee so to speak in this dance competition.

 

Mya nodded. Well then, shall we? She gave him a small bow.

 

He suppressed his smile and bowed low to her and swept her away in a dance that was sure to catch everyone's eye. It was both sensual and magestic. Flowing, never stopping, almost like breathing.

 

Mya carefully followed Zane's pace. She listened to the tempo and Mather with Zane as if she can read his mind and thoughts.

 

Zane smiled slightly, adoringly. Other girls faultered in their dances to stop and watch that smile spread across his face. They'd neve been smiled at like that. He moved like water and even Zee's date caught her eyes on him. She didn't faulter, her step was in time with Zee and Zane closed his eyes briefly to ignore them. He pulled Mya closer, adding more spins into their dance and a few lifts.

 

Mya contiued to follow Zane as the tempo got faster and more difficult. The end of the song was near. They needed to end it with a bang if they want any chance to win. She twirled away from him, then ran up to him, clasped one of his hands, slid under his legs and around it and pulled herself up to him just as the music ended.

BIC: Zane gave her his most charming smile and spread that smile to everyone in the ballroom. Changing it into a smirk for Zee's benefit. His date certainly was beautiful but him and Mya had taken the spotlight. Zee glared at him and Zane wondered what was the matter with him, they had the same goal.
