The brute growled and swung his axe at him.

Mya gasped for breath as they reached the surface.

 

Zee ducked and scurried away, "Uh, seriously man, you really shouldn't swing such a large axe. You might throw out your back."

Zane covered Mya's face with light kisses and held her tight, "Mya...you're okay, you're alive."

 

Mya shivered and held Zane tight. T-Thank you Zane. You saved me.

The guard pulled out a smaller axe and threw it at Zee

 

Zane pulled her to shore, "I had to. I love you. What would I do without you?"

Zee's eyes widened and he ducked under the axe. "Hey man, you're gonna poke an eye out with that thing."

 

Mya pulled off a small smile. I know. I'm sorry for getting caught in the first place. Don't you think we should help Zee?

The guard continued to lurch forward towards Zee, swinging his axe.

 

Zane cast a glance at Zee, ducking under the axe and snorted, "He can take care of himself. If he thinks he can try to fight me, he certainly doesn't need my help."

Zee's hidden blade flicked out and he twirled, cutting into the brute's thigh as he spun past him.

 

The brute snarled in pain and swung blindly at him.

Mya looked at herself and frowned. Dangit. I'm all wet. Now it'll take forever to dry these clothes.

 

Zane laughed and finally untied her hands, "Is that what you're worried about? Dryin' your clothes?"

Zee jumped backwards and waved his hidden blade around, "Oh, did I get ya? You should put some ice on that."

 

Mya frowned. Hey. If you had experience washing clothes, you would hate drying them. They take FOREVER.

The brute was heavily slowed down by his thigh wound and slowly lumbered to Zee.

 

Zane laughed and guestured to his own wet clothes, "I don't mind them. It's not like I plan on wearing them any time soon."

Zee backed away, "Uh, any time you two wanna jump in and help me? Greatly appreciated!"

Zane looked away from him and wiped wet hair from Mya's forehead.

 

Mya smiled. I'm tired anyways. She armed her gun and shot the guard in the back if the head.

 

Zane picked her up and walked past Zee, "C'mon then, we'll get you home Mya."

Zee stopped jumping around and exhaled loudly, "Bout time, girl! Damn, I thought he was gonna take my head off."

 

Mya sighed. A boat back home takes way too long. Can't we rent a house here?

 

Zane hated the idea of stayin in the same city as his Uncle who'd betrayed his family. "Alrigh Mya, we can stay but we stay on our toes."

Zee opened his mouth to comment and Zane shot him a cold look.

 

Mya sighed in relief. Thank you. She walked into an inn and ordered 2 rooms.

Zane picked up the keys and tossed one to Zee, "Be grateful, lest I make you sleep with the horses."

Zee caught the key and nodded, "Uh, got it, sir!"

Zane tugged Mya along to their room, he felt too tired to do anything really.

 

Mya walked into the room and sighed in exaustion. Hope you don't mind, but there aren't any spare clothes here. So I suppose I'll stay clothless for now. She pulled off her wet clothing and threw them onto a chair.

 

Zane wrapped her in a blanket, "No problem with me. Just stay warm alright?" He wrung out his wet clothes and hung them up to dry.

 

Mya cuddled up against Zane, feeling a bit more confortable.

 

Zane shivered and pulled at the blanket, "If you're going to be attatched to me, can I get inside that blanket with you. It's cold out here."
