Haru growled and pulled a blow dart from his pocket. It connected with Zane's neck, though his poison was one unfamiliar to the assassin. Haru gave him a grim smile and calmly walked past Mya toward the door.

Zane let him go and strongly encouraged Mya to do the same with a look at her. Pulling out the dart from his neck he grunted and rolled his shoulders, "Don't worry Mya, I don't feel any different. Probably old poison, lost it's kick." At least, he hoped it was that way. Zane knelt beside Zee and felt for a pulse. Zee was still alive, but his nap was going to be rudely interrupted, "Hey, Zee...wake up."

 

Mya knelt next to Zee. Cmon Zee. Time to get up.

 

Zee came around and jerked upright, "Haru! Where's Haru!?"

Zane smiled, rubbing his neck where the dart had hit, "He's gone. He realized I wouldn't help him and he left, more or less with some of my dignity but, hey, that doesn't matter. Are you alright? None of your tiny brain cells are gone are they?" he joked.

Zee glowered at him, "You must be victorious or else you wouldn't have the energy to make fun of me!" Zee smiled, despite their small quarrel, "Is Sasha okay?"

 

Mya scratched her head. Umm...well...sorta. I had to knock her out and stuff.

 

Zee's eyes widened, the true color of his eyes reflected from the light of the sun. A golden brown and he jumped up, "I'd better make sure she's alright! She's in her room right?"

Zane gripped his shoulder, "Easy brother. You've just been choked nearly to death. Take a breather."

 

Mya sighed and nodded. Yes she is fine. All she needs is a little rest.

 

Zee sat down next to Zane and finally his words sank in, "Wait, Zane, did you just call me brother?"

Zane looked away, embarrassed and denied the truth, "No I didn't. Now you're hearing things." He stood, "C'mon Mya, I believe we were interrupted during something. Zee, if you're going to start spouting nonsense then we're going back."

 

Mya nodded and walked back into her room.

 

Zane followed her and shut the door on Zee's face. He leaned against it, tired of all the family drama. "Why can't they just leave me alone?"

Zee lightly touched the door, his best friend thought of him as his brother. Smiling he wandered to Sasha's room and sat next to her. Unconscious or not, he cradled her in his lap and drifted off into his thoughts.

 

Mya smiled and hugged Zane. They're just jealous of you. Don't worry.

 

Zane pulled her down on him, "Yeah, well they can be jealous all they want. All I need is you."

 

Mya smiled. I was hoping you would say that. She kissed Zane passionatly.

 

Zane smiled and kissed her back, lightly tugging on her shirt again, "I believe where we left off, this wasn't here."

 

Mya grinned and tugged on his shirt as well. I don't think that was there either.

 

He gave her skeptical look, though he was playing he tried not to smile as he spoke, "You sure? I think I remember it on." Pulling off her shirt and following it with his, he picked her up and laid her on her bed. As soon as he set her down, his vision went blurry and he touched his head, closing his eyes for a moment, "Whoa, either that was one major head rush or I must be coming down with something."

 

Mya frowned. Are you alright? You don't look so good.

 

He shook his head as it passed, "I'm okay. How strange though." Zane dropped onto the bed beside her and sighed, pulling her close to him, "Long day I guess."

 

Mya closed her eyes and cuddled against Zane. Yea. Maybe.

 

Zane suppressed his yawn and kissed her. Closing his eyes he stroked the skin of her stomach and spoke in lower tones, "You think Sasha will mind what Haru did to Zee? The poor boy's been abused by him since he was a child. While my father whipped me the same, Haru also pulled Zee's hair, daily. It's so bad he doesn't like anyone touching his hair. I worry about him..." he trailed off and lazily opened his eyes.

 

Mya shuddered as he stroked her stomach. He'll be alright. Sasha can watch over him. Like how I watch over you. She nuzzled his chest.
