Mya's slap actually moved him. His body shaking, he stumbled into the wall and let her pull him into the medical room. He felt exposed as the nurse there looked up from the other wounded assassins. "Mya? Ah, Reaper! Oh, dear you don't look so good. Come, lie down, Mya, what are his symptoms?"

Zane fell onto the cot and closed his eyes, "I'll be....perfectly fine...in the m-morn...." the rest of his words were lost in a breath of air.

The nurse touched his forehead and checked his breathing, "He's alive, but he feels fine. Mya..." she looked at Mya doubtfully, "He seems to be perfectly healthy."

 

Mya shook her head in disbelief. What do you mean he's fine?! He looks horrible! She paced the room and then looked back at Zane. He has sudden loss of breath, dizzyness, blurry vision, and breaks out in sweat. I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a disease of any sort.

 

She shrugged, not knowing what to say, "Well, I'll keep him here for observation but I don't see anything wrong with him right now. Sure he's a little pale right now but it looks like some sort of flu. Don't worry, Mya, I'll watch him today but if I still don't find anything wrong, I'll have to let him go."

Zee woke, he was still clutching Sasha to him. He felt bruises on his neck where Haru had strangled him. Shifting himself, he tried to go back to sleep.

 

Mya nodded. Fine then. She sat on a chair. Stupid nurse. How can she not see that Zane is suffering?

 

The nurse shrugged and left her with him. Figuring she could handle him if he woke up.

Zane did wake up, hours after the nurse left. He still felt weak but better, "Mya? What are you doing here? C'mon, someone see's you here, they're gonna figure out you're with me." He smiled nonchalantly.

 

Mya smiled. Is it bad to watch over a person that's sick? I see. Well then see me later when you feel better. She stood up and walked out.

 

Zane laid back and waited until the nurse came back. He hadn't realized it was the same one he'd had in his bed a few days before he'd shown Mya how he felt. "Oh, I didn't realize they'd put you on duty." She smiled and took his temperature, "97.7, you're perfectly healthy. Just as I assumed but Mya seemed to be worried about you. She's a really good friend, isn't she?" Zane felt nervous and nodded, "Yeah she is. I wasn't feeling well this morning. I...I was coughing up blood. It was the strangest thing." She studied him and did a routine checkup. "I can't find anything wrong, which is strange. Coughing up blood you say? Sounds to me like the work of some sort of poison. But I don't detect anything. Maybe you should get some fresh air and move around a bit." He liked her suggestion and sat up, "Ah...could you loan me a robe? Seems I don't have any clothes." Laughing she handed him his robe and he walked around for a bit.

 

Mya sighed as she paced around the hallways. As she paced, she saw Znae walk out. She walked up to him.Hey. How's it going?

 

He glanced down the hallway, it was still too early for anyone to be up so he encircled her in his arms and kissed her, "She says I'm healthy, perfectly fine, just like I told you I was. It was probably just a bug, no need for such concern." He laughed, treating it lightly.

 

Mya kissed him back. You take things too lightly. Have some seriousness on what you have. Even me...not that I want it or anything.

 

Zane nuzzled her and licked her neck, "You want me to be serious about you? I could do that...or I could just "seriously" carry you back to bed." He winked at her and kissed her harder.

 

Mya let out a small purr.If that's how you want it, go ahead. I won't stop you.

 

He stopped and pressed her against the wall, "Nope, you have to choose. I'm not budging until your answer is definate." His control was weak and he kissed her neck.

 

Mya nuzzled his chest. I thought it was crippled first. She giggled and licked his neck.

 

Zane shuddered, "So cruel, Mya." He kissed her and quickly pulled away as a round of coughing took him. "What the...I thought that...this was o-over..." Blood dripped from his mouth and he braced an arm against the wall.

 

Mya frowned. I think you need rest Zane. Try to get some and stop denying.

Zane nodded as he caught his breath, "But I'm sleeping in my own bed. Enough of this stay with the nurse you've slept with. She could murder me in my sleep. There's a reason why you don't sleep with nurses....they could just kill you."

Mya sighed and nodded. Do whatever you want. Just don't push yourself.

 

Zane wiped his mouth and walked with her to his room. At his door, he hugged her tightly whispering in her ear, "I love you, Mya, and I always will. Mya, promise me something. Promise me you'll look after Zee. Teach him to be his own man." He waited for her answer to enter his room.

 

Mya smiled and nodded. I promise. I'll make sure he stays on track.
