If you acknowledge that the people you see in Spam (as well as other sections you frequent) do exist, then you must acknowledge that they exist as well. This is an everything or nothing situation, either everyone exists or no one does. Therefore nothing was wrong with my claim when I said that 'they' (the other member) exist, even if you do not see them.

 

Me neither.. it makes sense that they'd have them, but I don't think I've ever seen one.

All of these poptarts are good, although some of the new kinds are scary.

 

I do not acknowledge that they exist while I am not looking. You asserted that I meant only those I have never seen. That is incorrect. I do not acknowledge the physical existence of anything while I am not observing it.

 

Actually, you initially just said that you didn't bother with the people. Not that you didn't acknowledge them exisiting. It was I who started talking about them existing or not, meaning just the members. So you were actually the one assumed I meant everything first, I never asserted anything.

Whether or not you want to acknowledge them existing is up to you, but it's fact that a person either exists or doesn't. So what I said still holds up.

 

You directly implied that I considered the Spam people as different and used it to assert that you were right. My counter-argument did not specify members. I did not assume everything, I outright stated that it applied to everything. Then you went on to imply that I only applied that to people outside of the sections I visit.

You just ignored what I said completely and claimed that they exist. What you said does not hold up because all that you have said is that it holds up, twice. Saying something is true does not make it true. You have not countered my argument.

 

But there's nothing to counter, you have no arguement. You can't deny that this person exists. And if you do, you cannot say that anyone else on here exists.

So essentially, you are doing what children are doing? Thinking that nothing exists if they just close their eyes? That is why I'm not getting it, I've always thought you to be more intelligent than a young child.

 

I used quantum physics as a basis for my argument, and you used an insult as a basis for your rebuttal without actually discrediting whether or not it was debatable.

It wasn't an insult. Children actually do exactly that, it's pretty well known. I just made an comparison. Quantum physics have no place in this arguement, as these posts are data that are always there. If I don't exist without you looking, and neither did that post I just linked you to, then how was I able to get the post?

 

But if no one is monitoring them, or looking at them, how do we know it's there?

 

You were attempting to discredit my argument by comparing me to a child. The truth of your statement does not change the fact that your goal was to discredit without actually countering. Stating something that is true does not make it a valid or relevant comment. Putting my point in a silly light is called appealing to ridicule and it is a logical fallacy.

That I am not certain of, though there are theories. If you cannot think of an explanation involving the previously mentioned states of existence then it will probably go over your head to explain, but let me help: perhaps each particle's visible state also includes coordinates for its manifestation.

My claim was that it was debatable because there is evidence to the effect that my statement is true. I am not stating that I can prove it is true beyond a doubt.

You got to that post because you looked for it, and it decided to be there when you looked.
