Pika_power yawned. Rules of Court was not for him. He liked the yelling part and the "HAHA!" part. Not much else really mattered to him. He slipped off into the realm of sleep.

He awoke later to a "leaky roof".

Stitch had decided that Sora was too crowded, so he jumped on the roof again. He noticed that Axel had finished his bag of skittles, so he scanned the room for another bag. His eyes came to rest on Pika_power. He crept above him, and contented himself by staring at the skittles. This unfortunetly got him salivating.

Naminé was shocked at the Pikachu's actions. "Did he just molest my face?" she thought. She quickly shook the idea out of her head. She needed to concentrate on the matter at hand.

Mr. Birdman asked her to testify about how Castle Oblivion was. Seeing that things seemed to be going more smoothly, Naminé nodded.

OOC: I'm going to assume that we're okay on doing these testimonies and cross-examinations without Erkz always being present.

BTW, Pika_Power, I was partly wrong about the fifth amendment earlier. Obviously, everyone else already knows this, but I'll just explain it anyways.

The fifth amendment is your right to not testify if it might self-incriminate yourself. That means, that if you invoke that right, you don't have to testify, but it also means that you're giving up the right to testify to protect yourself. (That's what Erkz meant by good luck on using it.) Plus, there is also the double jeopardy rule like I stated earlier. If you're declared not guilty on a charge and suddenly there's some new evidence that would incidentally prove your guilt, it would not be able to stick due to the double jeopardy rule which states you cannot be charged for the same crime twice.

    BIC:

Kairi was stunned at the Pikachu's actions. From her point of view it had looked like he had just done a little quickie on Naminé's shoulder. "What is up with that Pokémon?" she wondered. "I thought he would be satisfied with the Skittles already..."

    • The most earliest memories I have are from Castle Oblivion.
    • At first I lured Sora there because I was lonely.
    • But then certain members used me for their own selfish desires.
    • I was forced to manipulate Sora's memories and lure him further into the castle.
    • I was threatened to be imprisoned forever if I didn't obey.
    • I was also forced to implant false memories into Repliku.
    • Eventually, I was threatened to erase all of Sora's memories.

    *End of testimony*

Naminé gave the prosecutors a slight smile. "That's everything that I can think of at the moment." She silently hoped that it was enough.

Kairi was confused and depressed at the same time. After hearing Naminé's summary of events, she felt slightly guilty for living her life safe on Destiny Islands while her other half had to live through heartache and emptiness. Still, everything turned out for the better, right? Sora and Riku were finally back with her and Roxas and Naminé were finally whole again (in a matter of speaking). Kairi glanced over at Larxene. She wondered if she would eventually be called up to the stand herself...

Vexen looked up at the "leeky roof" which was drooling onto Pika_power. "Wow, thats an experiment I wish I could study." He said to himself. Watching the blue ball of snot, as it crawled around.

Xelax realized that the situation was out of his control for the moment. "Alright prosecution, lets see what you got..." he spoke, just under his breath, knowing that the only person who could probably hear it was Janexna being that she was immediatly next to him. He then looked back towards Larxene, "Don't worry, I got you covered." He smiled reasurringly.

Birdman looked upwards and then back as if nothing happened. He was sooOOoo not going to comment on this. With a judge like Mentok the Mindtaker and cross-examiners ...oh just he wasn't going to bother with it.

"You said that you were lonely at the castle oblivion. Were there no people you could consider friends there?"

    *after this*
"What people specifically used you for selfish desires?"

    *after this*

"Why were you forced to alter Sora's memories? What purpose was there in luring Sora into the castle further?"

    *after this*

"Who made the threat to you that if you did not comply you would be imprisoned forever in the Castle Oblivion?"

OOC: I will pause and let her answer before continuing for it to make sense and question something said.

Sora watched and would listen as Namine spoke. The memories were still unusual going through his mind but they were finding their place. He felt now at least he could testify on behalf of himself and that was a good thing. Now he finally could recall the attack by Larxene earlier. As she'd speak, the words would help organize his thoughts, or so he'd hope to believe.

Repliku was chagrined and quiet, listening to each thing and pondering what Pikachu soul might taste like. Yeah, his mind could wander off like that. Especially when something was irritating him. He watched Namine as his name came up. Then he began to wonder why court had no concession stands. Food would make this whole affair much more bearable.

    Cross-Examination

OOC: I'm sorry, but Repliku's (the character not the user) thoughts had me laughing.

"You said that you were lonely at the castle oblivion. Were there no people you could consider friends there?"

Naminé pondered for a moment. The only member that seemed to have any real interest in her was Axel. But as they weren't exactly close or good friends during the time in question...

She shook her head sadly. "I'm sorry, but at the time, I just felt more like a tool than an actual person."

"What people specifically used you for selfish desires?"

Naminé chewed on her lower lip thoughtfully. "Marluxia, Larxene, Vexen..." She glanced over at Axel. Now that the former memory witch thought about it, Axel only let her go for his own purposes as well. And since she was under oath...

"...and Axel," she finished. Then a sudden thought occurred to her. The defense would probably be counting on getting her to say DiZ and Riku as well when they got their turn. She didn't want to, but she had faith in the prosecution's abilities to use the info as they saw fit. "However, if we were to talk about selfish desires..." She avoided Riku's gaze. "...I'd have to say Riku and DiZ as well." Naminé didn't like putting that out in the open, but she knew that the defense would've pounced on that point if they had a chance. She might as well let the prosecution handle it.

"Why were you forced to alter Sora's memories? What purpose was there in luring Sora into the castle further?"

"The betrayal of Xemnas and Organization XIII," she replied. "Marluxia was planning on using Sora to defeat Xemnas so he could be the head of the Organization. To do that, he had me alter Sora's Chain of Memories to make him believe that he came to rescue me. As soon as the memory modification was 100%, Sora would've followed his orders through me." Naminé didn't know what to say about Larxene. She started to regret making the statements she did. Especially, since it didn't seem relevant to the defendant at hand.

"Who made the threat to you that if you did not comply you would be imprisoned forever in the Castle Oblivion?"

"Marluxia," Naminé stated simply. She still failed to see how this would be used against Larxene...

Kairi didn't know what to think about this whole situation. It was like she was dreaming. Surreal-like and almost impossible. She glanced over at Riku. She hoped that Riku wouldn't hold it against Naminé for saying that he had been selfish as well.

The pokemon looked up at the hanging fluff ball, then without a second thought did a Super smash Bros type thunder, causing the mutation to fall to the table with a splat. Pretending not to notice, Pika_power continued as normal.
"Are you sure that Murluxia was working alone? I have Larxane down with conspiracy to murder Xemnas as well. Could they have been in a partnership?

As for Riku manipulating you, didn't you offer to help him, instead of being forced to? Also, didn't he help you in Twilight town?

Who's idea was it for you to change Repliku's memories? Did Larxane suggest it?"

OoC: So, Reppy, when can we hand her over for questioning?

Naminé pursed her lips together. "I never said that he was working alone. I just said that he was the mastermind behind the whole plan." She glanced over at Larxene. "She was in on the conspiracy, though."

"Yes, I offered to help him. Considering we had the same goal of waking Sora up..." She struggled to remember something that seemed critically important. "He did allow me to leave when Sora finally woke up. But..." Something was at the back of her mind that she couldn't quite remember.

OOC: I'm forgetting this portion and I don't have the KH2 Novels links on me.

    BIC:

Now that she thought about it, she DID remember Larxene suggesting it. "She said 'This is your chance to get your hands on the real Riku's memories. All you need is that card and a little help from Naminé. Maybe we'll get her to make you forget you're fake...Better yet, we could remake your heart so you can be just like the real Riku.'"

Pika_power looked at the charred lump on the table. He looked at Harvey, and asked if he overdid it.

He then heard Namine speak, so he started focusing again.

"Ah well. Isn't this trial about Larxane? Riku has done questionable things, and is by no means perfect. DiZ has also admitted his mistakes.

So having Larxane suggest that you changed Repliku's memories implies that she knew about the treatment you were receiving. This is a crime.

Also, did she knock you out of the way when Sora met Repliku for the final time? (not the Murluxia fight)"

Naminé knew that she had to tell exactly when events happened for the information she was giving to be effective. "Sora was about to be killed by Repliku. Not wanting death on my conscience, I had no choice but to Mind Crush...I mean, break his heart. Afterwards Larxene appeared, revealed my role in the whole situation and THEN knocked me aside."

Riku shook his head and let out a sigh. He had never used Namine for selfish purposes. In fact he had saved her from DiZ as well as covering for her being on the run from the Org. That really did not sit with him well at all. However, she was obligated to her opinion. He really was not happy with the accusation at all though. He had thought her an ally and it was apparent her feelings about him. He looked away from both Kairi and Namine, just not really wanting to talk to either. He didn't even want to look at Sora. His shoes looked nice now. He had just bought them last week. He really just did not know what to say or think right now. Out of all he had done wrong, he did not want to accept this charge that she had given because it was false.

Harvey Birdman frowned. This girl was making things kind of more difficult. "Namine, did you ever do anything to stand up against the orders of Marluxia and/or Larxene during this time? Also, how is it you were freed from your imprisonment?

Sora looked at Namine and then at Kairi..then Riku and just wasn't sure what to think. Why would Riku use Namine for his own selfish desires. That didn't really seem a 'rikuish' sort of thing to do. And yes, in Sora's mind that word existed. Whatever DiZ had gone and done he wasn't sure of. All Sora really knew of the man was that he was Ansem the Wise and had gone to Darkness and had some revenge plan schemed for the Organization but changed his mind at the end, destroying himself and the big Heart in the sky. He ooked back at Namine as things continued.

OOC: Sorry Repliku, I figured that the defense might try bringing that up when it was their turn and was kinda hoping you would counter it somehow.

    BIC:

Naminé looked at Riku and felt ashamed. She didn't mean to accuse Riku outright, but she was hoping the prosecution would've been able to use what she said to safeguard the possibility of the defense trying to use that tact. Of course, since she was still on the bench, she couldn't apologize for what she said. Naminé didn't know what else to do but to continue with the cross-examination.

Harvey Birdman frowned. This girl was making things kind of more difficult. "Naminé, did you ever do anything to stand up against the orders of Marluxia and/or Larxene during this time? Also, how is it you were freed from your imprisonment?

When he asked these questions, Naminé felt slightly better in the fact that she COULD answer them. "As a matter of fact, I DID. Twice. I tried to stop Larxene from attacking Sora which resulted me flying across the room. And I also stood up to Marluxia when he threatened me to destroy Sora's heart. Both of those times I was in a position where they threatened me with violence or anguish."

"As for how I escaped..." Naminé looked at Axel. "I have Axel to thank for that. Both Marluxia and Larxene were out of the room and he turned a blind eye to go and help Sora." She raised an eyebrow quizzically. "Or did you mean afterwards where Riku and DiZ transferred Sora, Donald and Goofy's pods to Twilight Town? Because if that's the case, then I guess I have them to thank for that as well. For giving me a safe haven from the Organization while I restored Sora's memories."

She glanced at Riku again, hoping that he would accept that as an apology.

Kairi also glanced at Riku. When he didn't answer, she elbowed him in the ribs and gave him a hard look. "She's trying to apologize to you, Riku. And you know that she didn't mean what she said in the way you're taking it." She looked over at Naminé. "She's probably trying to protect you and Sora somehow by using her testimony. I'm not sure how, but it seems that way." Kairi shook her head. "Do you really believe that she has such a low opinion of you?"

The judge furrowed his eyebrows at Harvey.

"Beware the mind-taker, Birdman, else he'll be eating your crest for dinner. Does the witness's resistance or escape have anything to do with any of the charges placed on the current defendant?" he asked, not seeing the relevance of the Prosecution's question.

He drummed his fingers as he awaited a response.

seeing his friend in trouble, Pika_power stepped up to talk to the judge.

"Judge, Harvey is attempting to get a view of Namine's life into castle Oblivion. Knowledge of her resistance is vital, as that is the time she is most likely to be attacked. The attack can then be used in the case.
As for her escape, he wishes to know about that so we can get a glimpse of how imprisioned Namine was, and what was needed for her to escape.

I hope that these reasons justify my partner's actions"

Pika_power noticed a twitch in the body of Stitch. He leaned forward, finally concerned that the panda/dog cross breed could be dead. Suddenly the blue ball lept to life, knocking Pika_power off the chair onto the floor.
Dazed, the pokemon sat up. I wonder what that was about he though. Then he noticed the missing pile of yellow skittles.

The pikachu stood up, angry. He interrupted the next person to speak, and started speaking in a clear, shaky voice "I wish to lay another charge against the Experiement Stitch, for the assault of Pika_power and the theft of 29 yellow skittles."

OOC: I don't mind. it's not affecting me OOC even if Riku is now very angry lol.

Harvey gave a curt nod to the judge. "In fact it does, your honor. If you'd allow me to continue...

Namine, were you armed when Larxene hit you for standing in the way of harming Sora?"

*when answered* "Now, you also mentioned Marluxia, which can you describe the scene you were in that put you in the way of Sora and Marluxia in the first place? Why were you there?"

Riku just shook his head, refusing to answer Kairi. As far as he was concerned he had done more than his fair share to help Namine and right now he was ticked off at her. There was no way to apologize for what he considered a lie. Yeah, he was now grumpy Riku.

"Maybe you'll have your chance to say your side, Riku. In the end it might be hard for her to think anyone wasn't just using her for their own ends." Sora whispered and looked at Namine. This was very confusing but he was sure somewhere there was an explanation.

"Don't trouble yourselves. I'm just fine." He sighed and mentally thought..'just fine for someone stabbed in the back but no reason to worry that much about it.'

Pika_power was ticked off. Not only was he left with 342 "Bad" skittles, but his charges were completly ignored. Slowly he crept over to Axel unnoticed. "Hey, psst, Axel!" The pokemon whispered. "I have in my possession 342 skittles, none of them yellow. If you can accidentally barbecue our resident leaky roof Stitch, you may find that your skittle bag is full again..."

Pika_power quickly scurried back to the seat, but not before dropping a skittle into Axel's empty bag. Looking up at the bewildered blue ball on the roof, he grinned maliciously.

OoC: Everything relevant to the case or what is going on in is said in Orange. General Roleplay is set in green. By the way, Harvey, how long before they get their turn with Namine?

OOC: Not that much longer. The point is to validate the charges. If it wasn't done, then the cross-examiner would do so without proof of in the first place her being abused at all.

"Naminé, were you armed when Larxene hit you for standing in the way of harming Sora?"

Naminé was thinking of saying "Unless you count a flimsy white dress, sandals and no underwear armed..."

What she really said was, "No. I left my drawing pad and colored pencils back upstairs. I had no weapons on me that I could use against Larxene."

Kairi's eyes lit up. She understood why Naminé had said what she did. "Riku, I think I get it now! Naminé said you were using her for your own selfish desires, right? Well, think about it. If you were the defense or an Organization member, wouldn't you be thinking along the lines of the exact same thing?" When Riku didn't answer, Kairi got up and stood right in front of him. "Put yourself in their shoes. A girl that you've been using from the very beginning betrays you and starts working for the other side. The opposition's reason in doing this is to reawaken the one person who has the power to destroy your very existence. With Naminé helping you do that, they would probably find it as a "selfish desire" that your purpose of helping her was to help destroy the Organization. She wanted to get that point of view out there and hope that the prosecution would somehow use that information to protect you if the defense tried to bring it up." Kairi raised an eyebrow. "Does that makes sense?"

'If Riku doesn't understand, he's just as stubborn as Sora,' she thought, trying to resist the urge not to smack him across the back of the head.

"Now, you also mentioned Marluxia, which can you describe the scene you were in that put you in the way of Sora and Marluxia in the first place? Why were you there?"

"I was waiting beside Repliku when Marluxia appeared and grabbed me," Naminé said. "The next thing I knew, I was looking straight at Axel. Both he and Marluxia had their weapons drawn, so I'm assuming that they were in the middle of a fight. I'm also going to assume Axel was winning, because Marluxia was standing behind me, using me as a shield. Axel was going to attack him anyway, but Marluxia told Sora (who had just entered the room) that Axel was going to kill me to get to him and that he should destroy Axel. After that, he grabbed my shoulder and he transported us to the end of the hall." There was more to the story, but she had finished answering the question thoroughly. The defense probably would've objected if she tried to continue.

Via telepathic link, Naminé heard everything that Kairi was trying to tell Riku. Of course, everything that Kairi had said was the truth. Naminé was counting on the prosecution to protect Riku if that biased point of view of his actions were to come into play. She could only hope that Riku would listen to Kairi. 'Or else I might have to smack him on the back of the head as well...' she thought grimly. 'Or at least throw a pencil at him.'

Riku would whisper but his voice was not happy; especially with Kairi trying to push such ridiculous things on him to validate the blond haired girl who had screwed him and Sora over if anything. She hadn't even bothered to care about Riku or Riku Replica hardly at all and only helped Riku when Zexion was going to kill him because Riku could not bear to strike at the real Sora and would have let him kill him for justice. "Kairi, with all due respect, stay out if it. I can put myself in her shoes having been used by Maleficent and her cronies and Xehanort. Lay off me and get a clue. She had no right to do what she did. I did not use her for my own selfish desires and if you ever insinuate again I did, I see how you take sides. She is not helping me. She is hindering my statement on the stand and making assumptions she does not in fact -know-. That is wrong. If anything she weakened me. Thanks for seeing logic, Kairi." Riku glared. He then looked off. "Sit down before you make a fool of us."

"Come on, Riku,...she maybe did mess up but she was trying to help you." Sora sighed and knew to not push Riku anymore. He looked really mad now and would only put up with this for so much longer.

Kairi gave Riku a pitying look. But she knew better than to try talking him out of something when his mind was made up. She shook her head sadly and took her seat next to Sora again, grabbing his hand tightly because it made her feel better. She didn't want to think about it, but something told her that Riku was starting to believe that Kairi herself was pitying the Organization. True, she had heard testimony from her other half, but there was always two sides to every story.

Naminé realized that Kairi was starting to have doubts about how the Organization really was. But as she was on the stand, she couldn't do anything about it. The thought of erasing everyone's memories of her comment came to mind, but she knew it was impossible. Even if she did have her powers, Sora's memory was the only one she could affect. There was a lingering doubt within her mind. Had she said enough? Or did she just make matters worse?

'Why didn't that creepy voice come to me BEFORE I took the stand?! Then it'd be Sora who'd be testifying and not me!' Naminé almost felt like crying from frustration. She just wanted this trial to be done and over with before she jeopardized anyone else's lives.

Kairi felt guilt, doubt and sorrow well up within her for some reason. But she knew the emotions were coming from Naminé. She hoped that somehow they would all patch things up with Riku and finish off the Organization once and for all.

Then another thought struck her. A very odd one. How'd this all happen in the first place? The courtroom setting, the Organization back in black, a Pokémon and some creepy winged guy as prosecutors...

Kairi shook her head. Whoever was responsible for this must've wanted to make them all suffer. The question is why...
