Persona - Mask of Origins

Zain popped out of the kitchen holding a Dark Forest Cake covered with cherries. He grinned aand set it down before them. Noticing Yuki's red eyes his smile fell away, "What happened? What's wrong, Yuki?"

 

"It's nothing, Zain. I was just letting go of some bad memories."

 

Zain worriedly touched his earring and sighed, "If you say so. I hope it's made you happier. I'm always here for you if you need a shoulder to cry on." he grinned but his purple eyes still showed his worry.

 

"Thanks, brother." Yuki said with a smile. She then kissed his cheek.

 

Zain shrugged and touched his cheek, "Uh, y-yeah, that's what I'm here for. Now, who wants some cake!"

 

Yuki was already cutting a large slice out of the cake. People wondered how she could eat so much, but keep her figure.

 

Toya and Sakuya smiled as they watched her.

 

Zain grinned, "At least there's always one thing we can count on. Yuki's appetite."

 

Yuki started eating the piece of cake she had cut out.

 

Sakuya sighed and lifted her glass. "To Toya Suzuhara. Happy Birthday." Everyone else did the same, congratulating him.

 

Yuki smiled and cheered. She then took a sip of her drink.

 

Sakuya sighed and cut herself a piece of cake.

 

Zain felt out of place, but his hunger was gone. "So...when are we going home? I'm sure it'll be late but..." he felt like he'd missed something.

 

Yuki yawned and fell asleep in her chair after she finished eating.

 

"We're staying for the night. Yuki-chan said it would be a long ride home."

 

Zain nodded, "I probably have no right to say this but her falling asleep right now seems just like her." He wiped chocolate from her face and picked her up, "I'd ask where can she stay but with this big of a house, I'm sure I'll find an empty guest room."

 

Yuki stirred a little in her sleep.

 

"Please, let me show you to the rooms I asked to be prepared for you." Toya walked to them and offered some guidance.

 

Yuki continued to sleep in the chair.

 

Zain smiled, "Hey thanks. You're not so bad Toya, y'know that."
