Persona - Mask of Origins

Orphan finished licking closed his wounds, leaving the bleeding wound on his back, "Yuki, would you pleasssse return him to hissss room."

Zain shivered, "Orphan would you stop that insufferable hissing!" He snarled at his persona. Zain's face was feral and his incisors had grown, turning into fangs as he snarled at everyone.

 

Yuki picked him up and carried him to his room.

 

Zain growled at her the entire time she was carrying him. Orphan, being quite a large snake, followed them.

Zain's fangs unnaturally grew longer and he shut his eyes, "You should've left me to die, damn you."

 

Yuki slapped him hard, clearly angry.

"Just shut up and be grateful that your sister helped you."

 

Zain tried to swallow around his fangs, "What's wrong with me, Yuki?"

 

"I...I don't know. It's like you're turning into something completely different."

 

He winced and turned his face away from her, "Great. What a wonderful way to start out a family relationship." He opened one eye and looked at her. Even his eye was different. Faint stripes of red streaked across the purple. "I'm sorry Yuki, I'm not the greatest brother in the world. As my sister, you've cared for me and tolerated me." He reached up at hand and touched her face.

 

"Funny you should say that, cause I've been hiding something from you, and everyone else."

 

Zain opened his eyes and frowned at her. At least as best of a frown as he could. "What do you mean, Yuki? Hiding what? What could possibly be worse than turning into..." he looked at his hands, "A monster."

 

"Go ahead and drop the illusion, Lucifer."

"Are you sure, Mistress?"

"Do it."

Lucifer nodded and chanted some words. A dark light shimmered around Yuki and revealed a pair of wings, one black feathered and one demonic looking.

 

Zain smiled. His fangs making him look oddly hostile. Orphan hissed, "Oh, lookit that. You're both monssssterssss."

Zain weakly swatted at him, "You, shut up. I think Yuki still looks beautiful."

 

"This happened when I got Lucifer. It mirrors my personality as I'm dual natured, as is Lucifer. Everyone sees him as an angelic persona when I'm calm, but when I'm angered, he turns demonic."

 

"Hmm, so I look like this because..." Orphan slithered onto his stomach, "Because you are part shadow. Lady Shiv and those creatures you've been fighting have been turning you into one of them since you were a child. It's why your parents died."

 

Yuki sighed as Lucifer reapplied the illusion.

 

Zain closed his eyes, "My parents died in a fire. I don't know what you're talking about." Orphan hissed, "That's what they wanted you to think. Those creatures killed them. It was no fire." He shifted and winced, "When do you think this thing will stop bleeding ooze. That's not my blood."

 

Yuki shrugged.

"I have no clue. It should stop with time."

 

Zain laughed and started to cough, "I'm never going to be able to show my face at school again. Not looking like this." Orphan shrugged and slithered back inside him, "You could alwayssss wear sssunglassessss and a face massssk." He hissed/laughed and Zain rolled his eyes, "Not funny."

 

"I could get Lucifer to put an illusion on you as well. His nickname is the master of deceit, after all."

 

Zain sighed, "Maybe when I feel better. How about in the morning, okay?" He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

 

Yuki went downstairs to watch tv. She couldn't go back to sleep now.
