Zain glanced at him as he limped, "I'm...fine!" he huffed and panted. He spotted Cara walking down the street, her head was down and he straightened painfully, "Cara!"

Cara heard Zain call her name and looked up. He was bleeding and followed by a boy she didn't know, "Zain?! Oh, are you alright!?" She ran to him and gently touched his cheek.

Bio: A member of a high society that studies shadows. Though his fate resembles Zain's, he's been going through the transformation longer than Zain, even though he's a year younger. He resents Zain for his salvation with Yuki and even his personality is as twisted as his motives.

Cara smiled and Zain felt a jolt through him, "Do you feel that?"

Daikeo walked slowly toward the three people standing in the street and thought, So he is out of the orphanage. Hmph, it's been a long time...Zain Parenthapaeus.

Zain could hear the boys voice in his head. "N-no, this...he..."

 

"zain!!calm down!" rio said seats you down "what is wrong with him???" rio asked

 

Cara watched him, "Zain? I don't know."

Zain wildly looked around, clutching the wound in his chest. "Something's wrong. He's back. He's here! C'mon, we have--" the voice irritablly cut him off, You should stop talking. It won't do them any good. Their fates, along with yours are sealed.

Daikeo stepped around the corner and stopped before them, "Are you alright? Your friend looks like he's in pain."

Zain shivered and paled. His purple eyes flicked up to the newcomer and down at the ground.

Cara looked up at him, "Oh, he is. Thank you for your concern, sir, could you help us get him home?"
Daieko smiled and flicked the patch of black in his red hair out of his eyes, "Gladly."

 

rio stood there "wait up"rio said as he ran up to zain and the otheres

 

Zain recoiled from Daieko's touch, "Ngh, don't touch me!"

Daieko gave him a curious look and sighed, kneeling down to Zain, his ice blue eyes pierced him, "It would do you well to come along while you still have free will." he said too low for Rio and Cara to hear.

Zain looked at him, his red streaked purple eyes shining with pain. "I'm fine...I can make it...home by myself!" he snarled.

Daieko pulled what looked like a card from his pocket and crushed it into his palm, it started on fire and before anyone knew it a large horse like Persona stood behind Daieko. "Zain, I'd like you to follow me home or else I'll let Shemhazai have her way with you. I'm sure you'd like to keep your soul."

 

"shut up Daieko leave zain alone okay!!!!if he whant's to be alone then leave him okay!!!!!"rio scremed

 

Daieko laughed and stood, facing Rio. An easy smile on his face as his ice blue eyes glared down at him. Shemhazai jerked one scythed arm toward Rio, it opened up to reveal a gun embedded as her arm. Daieko lifted his hand to freeze her motion, "I don't remember you from the orphanage. Name's Daieko Deathchild. A pleasure, I'm sure. Zain is an old friend of mine and I have buisness with him, so no matter what he says I'm taking him home with me."

Zain shook his head in defiance and Daieko frowned at him, "So I suppose you want to keep the shadow inside of you? Hmph, and here I'd hoped to gain a willing experiment at least."

 

rio punched Daieko "you ****** brat leve him alone okay!if he does not want you then lisen to him freak okay!!"rio screamed at Daieko *grbs zain and runs with him* "sorry bout that he was tiking me off so i had to do somthing right?"rio asked zain

 

ooc: there's so many thing wrong with that I'm not even going to try. Take it easy man, give the chance to react.

bic: Daieko grabbed Rio's hand and tossed it aside, he looked at Zain, taking in the spines, claws and fangs and the black blood soaked into his shirt. "You don't look so good Zain. Why not just let me bandage you up? You have my word, no funny stuff."

Zain huffed and his eyes closed briefly, "N-no funny stuff...and you'll...explain how...you know what I am?" Daieko nodded and flicked his fingers at Shemhazai, "You may go my darling pet. Rio, Cara, would you help him to my house? My word is as solid as gold, please."

Zain nodded and Cara helped him up, "Uh, then lets go Rio." she worriedly said and helped Zain walk.

Cara shrugged, "He doesn't seem like such a bad guy." she whispered back.

Zain flicked his eyes at both of them and shushed them, "Quiet. He can still hear you. With a shadow's hearing, he could hear a pin drop in the middle of a blizzard. And that Persona...Orphan, have you ever seen such a thing?" Orphan hissed, "For asss long asss I've lived, I've never sssseen Shemhazai. She'sss the keeper of ssssoulssss. Whoever she letsss out of prissson, she keepssss assss a pet. My guessss, she'sss keeping Daieko assss a pet."

Daieko laughed and Shemhazai made a noise similar to laughter, "Shemhazai is my Persona. She obeys me. I...in a way rescued her. Jonathan Deathchild, my father, left me his research and as a result, I found Shemhazai trapped within one of my father's belongings. So if you must know, I'm not a bad guy, I'm only trying to solve something my father left me to solve."

Zain swallowed blood and spat it on the ground as they neared Daieko's house, it looked like a funeral home, "And what did he leave you to solve?"

Daieko stopped and smiled at them, "The mystery of being turned into a shadow."

Daieko lifted an eyebrow at Rio and Zain shushed him gently, "Rio, the guy's trying to cure what I am. Let him speak. How do you know what I am?"

Daieko chuckled, "I never said I hated Zain. I mearly want to help him and myself." he looked up to Shemhazai and nodded, "Drop the illusion Shem, it's okay." A red mist fell from Daieko's profile and everything about him changed. His red hair was completely black and his ice blue eyes became cat like. Sharp spines sprouted from his arms and back and his fingers were twisted into claws. Long fangs protruded from under his lip and serrated teeth shone out as he laughed, "You seem surprised. Please, do not pity me, I'm quite okay with how I look."

Zain shuddered, his fangs grew longer, "Y-you're...a shadow yourself."

 

"oh...zain...i...i do not belive this...it can not be"rio said studdering

 

Daieko involuntarily growled, "Trust me, if I had any other choice, I would most certainly not have chosen this path. I'm not okay with the cravings but I've found a series of potions I have stored at home that nullify the cravings so you can at least appear normal. Orphan and Shemhazai can keep an illusion for us, but when around those with the right qualities...I'm sure you cannot control yourself. Feeding, breeding, isn't it all the same?"

Zain glanced at Cara and the bandage on her neck, "I won't let it be that way. Yuki won't let it be that way. She won't let me hurt Cara and I wouldn't dream of hurting her or Yuki. Daieko...can you cure us?"

Daieko didn't answer but re-applied the illusion and walked on, forcing Zain to hobble after him with the help of Rio and Cara.

 

Yuki sat at home, worried about Zain.

 

Toya sat on his room balcony, thinking of Yuki and sighed.
