Persona - Mask of Origins

"It's ok, Zain." Yuki said as she sat down.

 

"Hmph, I don't see how it's okay." His frustration melted and he slid down to the floor, "Did he say anything about the cure being ready?"

 

"He said he was close to finishing it."

 

Zain nodded and stood, "I'll wait until it's done to go back there. You should see the inside of that creeps house. There's....I don't know, weird stuff laying around."

 

"I'll....just take your word for it."

 

Zain laughed, "I suppose that's best. Well then, I'm off to bed. Though with all the naps you take, I wouldn't be surprised if you stayed up all night." He thought about his unusual behavior when he'd started the change, "Odd, I'm usually not tired around now, but I guess that just means I'm gonna get better. Enough of this....creepy claws and red eyes stuff."

 

Yuki smiled at him.

"Good night, Zain."

 

Waving goodnight, he clambered up the stairs and shut his door. Leaning against it, he breathed easier.

 

Yuki sighed as she thought about what Daieko had told her

 

Zain fell asleep with his claws on the doorknob.

Daieko finished the cure and sat back with a smile, "Finally. Shem, are you ready for this. It might sting you too, just a bit. I should really inject this in the morning, after I've slept for a while."

 

Yuki kept herself awake and flipped through the channels on tv.

 

Tucking away the cure, Daieko fell asleep, Shemhazi carrying him to his bed.

 

Yuki soon drifted off to sleep, despite trying to stay awake.

 

Zain jerked awake. He felt the hurried push of his slugish blood through his veins and threw open his window to breath in the night air. "What's happening....it's like...the change is speeding up again." he mumbled.

 

Yuki groaned as she fell off the couch in her sleep. She yawned as she slowly awakened.

 

Wandering downstairs, Zain rummaged through the fridge, looking for something that would spark his interest to eat. Nothing compelled him and his stomach lurched at everything he saw. Sniffing, he smelt something that didn't make his stomach want to vomit.

 

"You're still awake, Zain?"

 

Zain turned and noticed the smell was coming from Yuki. "N-no..." the word left him on a breath. "Yuki...I uh, y-yeah, I got kinda hungry and I guess....well I..." he couldn't find the right words to explain and her scent made his stomach growl.

 

"I see. Well don't stay up too late." Yuki said as she went to her room.

 

Zain suppressed the urge to follow her and flung the door open, fleeing the house. This can't be happening to me again. I thought this was done with. I can't live around Yuki like this! his thoughts were chaotic as he started to run down the street.
