"Just promise me you won't get yourself killed."

 

Zain smiled, a bit of his luster for life back in him, "I promise. They are my kind of people." he laughed at his joke, though it wasn't very funny. Splitting off from Yuki, he moved toward the Orphanage, "What I need to live is still in the Orphanage, I should be alright. If I need anything I'll come to the house. I'll see you in a few Yuki."

 

Yuki flew back home and sat on the roof for a while.

 

Zain situated himself back in the Orphanage. His head hurt again as per every coming night. His change was coming faster than Daieko's potion could hold off. Deciding quickly to gather a few of the herbs at least that he'd smelt when noticing the vial the cure had been in. He headed outside and scoured around for them, but none of the plants around smelt the same. "I suppose they were from different countries. I'll have to get them delivered." He headed back to Yuki's, his head throbbing as he almost casually walked inside and hopped on a computer.

 

Yuki had fallen asleep on the roof.

 

Zain ordered a few things he could identify as what it was he'd smelt and looked for Yuki. "Yuki? Hey, Yuki...where'd you go? Can you tell me where your friend, that...ugh, guy of yours lives. What was his name?"

 

"You mean Toji? I can take you to his house if you want."

 

Zain nodded, "That would be nice, thank you. Toji...he has chemestry things, doesn't he? I'll probably become his best friend for the next few days." Zain thought about all the things Daieko kept and how much held the cure's sent. The pattern of it showed him the process of it's creation.

 

Yuki took Zain over to Toji's home.

 

Zain, remaining trying to look human, pulled his sunglasses on and a large coat. He wondered how the shadows coped with the sunlight, however small.

 

Toji let them in.

"Good timing, Yuki, I was just about to call you. I think I'm close to another cure for Zain, but I'm missing some ingredients."

 

Zain grudingly barely lifted his head as he spoke, "I'm standing right here. I have what you need. Some things I'm having delivered to home, but I'll need to use your...uh, lab I suppose if you have one. There are still things I'll need to gather, but at least I can smell a few stages of the cure on you. This will save me time considerably." His sunglasses reflected Toji's walls.

 

"Go right ahead." Toji said.

 

"Thanks." he moved past him, following the scent of the cure to an isolated room. "Works well enough... Now I just need a way to get the shadows together to get their blood like Daieko did."

 

Yuki went out with Toji for a while.

 

Zain moved around the house, examining things that almost smelt like what was in the cure. He examined what Toji had of the cure done so far. It was impressive he'd gotten this far but it was far from complete.

 

Yuki and Toji returned after a while.

 

Zain's hunger was getting the better of him by now. He couldn't hold back the snarl that came from his mouth when he noticed Yuki and Toji return. He'd taken off his sunglasses and his red eyes focused still on an herbal book.

 

"Cut that out, Zain." Yuki said.

 

He clammed up immediately, his eyes still on the book, "Sorry. I guess i'm a little hungry. I'll leave soon, I promise so i don't eat your boyfriend. By-the-way, nice job Toji, the cure is good enough that I can finish it in a few days and take within four hours of that last day. So I'll be human in a few days. Go nuts." His passive behavior contradicted his red eyes fastened on the book and fangs poking out from under his lip.
