"I'm just still a little unnerved at what happened after he left."

 

"What do you mean?" Zain curled his legs up under him and rubbed the line on his cheek.

 

"We got surrounded by shadows. They ended up touching you to heal you."

 

Zain didn't find anything wrong with it. A little wierd but not wrong. "Hmph, stupid shadows." Tiredly he fixed his guitar and plucked it cautiously again.

 

Yuki got up and stretched.

 

Zain tiredly, worked at restringing his guitar. Cutting his fingers as he did so. Callen...why would he come back now? As if I don't have enough to deal with in the first place. Standing after his guitar was fixed, he left back to the Orphanage for another long night.

 

Yuki got lost in a book, not wanting to fall asleep.

 

Locking the door again, he fell against it, waiting for the last rays of the sun to disappear. He could already feel his hunger pushing him to unlock the door and leave. Yuki would be tasty...he jerked and growled at himself, "No. My sister is not food." His fangs grew and Zain began beating himself against the door. His mind stuck on the image of Callen just before he'd bitten him.

 

Yuki soon fell asleep, despite her best efforts.

 

Zain continued to snarl senselessly all night long. His eyes glowing a red not unlike those other shadows. A soft voice came from behind him, "Why do you lock yourself in here at night? Is it because you can't control your own cravings? Or are you afraid to show your true face to that girl who calls herself your sister?" Zain froze and slowly turned, "A little of both I assume." his voice was rough and scratchy.

 

Yuki awoke in a cold sweat from a horrible nightmare.

 

Callen sighed and sat on Zain's old bed, patting the spot next to him. "Come then, let us discuss your issue. Would it help if I fed from you?" Zain growled and stubbornly sat on the floor, "No. Bite me again in front of my sister and I swear I'll take off your head. Got it?" He smiled, fangs and all, "As you wish. How's Daieko Deathchild? Didn't I hear you were working with him?" Zain refused to answer and beat the back of his head against the door.

 

Yuki went and drank a glass of water, hoping to calm her nerves.

 

Callen moved to calm him as if he were some skittish animal. "Don't touch me!" Zain snarled and Callen sat back, "You are so difficult. I wonder why I even try..." Zain refused to answer such a baited trap. He went back to banging his head and remembering Cara...her blood was as sweet as chocolate...as would Yuki's be. Zain jerked and dug his claws into the ground, Cut that out Zain. She's your sister, not food. And Cara...is gone. "The only one I have left is Yuki..." Callen lifted his head and smiled, "So...her name is Yuki. How...interesting. She did smell...lovely this evening. But you can't leave this room right? I think I'll pay her a visit." Before Zain could react, Callen was gone. Yuki! he hurriedly unlocked the door and flung it open, racing back to Toji's.

Callen watched Yuki, he was fasignated by how human she was, "So pure..."

 

Yuki dropped her illusion. Surprisingly, her wings were demonic, despite being calm.

 

Callen chuckled and stepped out of the shadows from behind her, "Still, so very pure. You have a good heart. And you know what they say about good hearts...they produce delicious blood!" He reached for her arm.

Zain tripped, Dammit, get up! You filth, get up! Pushing himself up, he pushed aside his hunger and pushed on, hurrying to get to Toji's. Toji...protect Yuki!

 

Toji walked in to check on Yuki and saw Callen.

"Yuki, look out!" He shouted before he tried to attack Callen.

Yuki quickly spun around and grabbed her scythe.

 

Callen sighed and spun, grabbing Toji by his throat and lifting one hand to Yuki, tsking her. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, princess. You wouldn't want your friend to be hurt now would you?" Pulling Toji close to him, he sniffed at his neck curiously and wrinkled his nose, "Maybe it's just those unique. You're disgusting!" Turning his rust colored eyes on Yuki again he grinned, fangs and all, "Do you know what your brother does in that room in the Orphanage every night? I suppose not. He wouldn't tell you would he. He's a bit...strange isn't he? Beating himself senseless like that to pass out so he doesn't break free from that room and kill like a normal shadow would. Aren't you ashamed of him?"

Zain burst through the door, his eyes wild as he snarled at Callen, "She doesn't have to be! I'm ashamed of myself for her. Let him go, Callen. This isn't Toji's or Yuki's problem."

 

Toji drew a knife and buried it into Callen's back.

 

Callen barely flinched, "Now that hurt." he lifted him from the ground and chucked him across the room. Zain took the opportunity to summon Eden, her light making Zain and Callen cover their eyes. Damn, I forgot Eden's all light and like this I can't fight with light. Callen seemed to start to burn under the constant light. Steam rising from his skin and he hissed.
