Persona - Mask of Origins

He smiled and winced. Touching his jaw he flinched again, "That's gonna leave a mark. Man, I haven't been actually hit in...well so long that I don't even remember." He clipped back on the black feather onto the metal band and walked Yuki home.

 

"I think I really spooked those boys. Kind of funny that boys like that would be scared of a girl." Yuki said before giggling.

 

Zain brushed a lock of hair behind her ear and managed a smile, "You were holding a deadly weapon to their throats. Usually I have my lance with me, guess I left it with you."

 

"You did leave it at the house. It's sitting on the bed with your guitar." Yuki said as she unlocked the door.

 

"Pre-tty dumb of me." He held the door open for her and kicked his shoes off as he stepped inside. He hopped over to the stairs, "Now if you don't mind I'm going to go settle in. I'd appreciate it if you could find me some anit-bacterial stuff to put on this." he jerked a thumb at the bleeding cut on his jaw, "Kid must've been wearing a ring." He headed up to his room.

 

"The first aid kit is in the bathroom." Yuki said as she turned off the tv. She sat on the couch and quickly did her homework.

 

Zain frowned at the small amount of things he had compared to the room. It was a lot bigger than at the orphanage. Wandering into the bathroom he rumaged through some things until he found the first aid kit. He winced as he touched his face with a cotton ball of anti-bacterial cream. Either no more fighting, or keep that damn lance with you at all times." he said to himself in the mirror. "I have to be a better brother to Yuki. She shouldn't have to bail me out all the time." He nervously showered quickly and dressed in his pants, throwing his shirt over his shoulder.

 

Yuki had already gone to bed while Zain was in the shower. She tossed and turned as she had the same horrifying dreams.

 

Zain sleepily wandered back to his room. Leaving his door open as he crawled into bed. He still felt nervous about living here now, but as Orphan would say, make the best of things while it lasted. Yuki wanted his cooking, that was something he'd gladly give her.

 

Yuki woke up in the middle of the night, frightened by her dreams. Unable to go back to sleep, she took a quick shower and got dressed in her school uniform. She then went downstairs and turned on the tv, flipping through the programs until settling on watching a late night anime.

 

Sakuya woke up with the sun and went to get breakfast for her and Yuki. Nix told her to get three coffee cups, Sakuya shrugged and headed over to Yuki's house. She entered, "Yuki-chan! I brought breakfast!"

 

Yuki groaned and downed the cup of coffee. She had been unable to go back to sleep when she woke up from her dream. She then ate her breakfast.

 

"Man, you look awful. Was the dream that bad last night?"

 

Zain woke and sleepily wandered from his room to the kitchen. He smelt coffee, "Hey, Yuki, you want me to make breakfast?" he yawned. His black sleeveless shirt was left open as he walked down the stairs.

 

Yuki nodded at Sakura. She then looked at Zain.

"Sure, I wouldn't mind a second breakfast."

 

"Who's that?" Sakuya asked.

 

"This is my brother, Zain. You've seen him at school before, remember?"

 

"Oh, so you unofficially adopted him or something?"

 

Zain waved nevously and picked up a pan, "I'm feeling omlets. You want one Sakuya?" Taking out four eggs he zipped his shirt closed and cracked them into the pan.

 

"Yes, please!" Sakuya smiled.
