"Hmm, such hostility. I see then. I'll be going." "Dr. Yagami...why did the doctor reanimate me and my brother?" Yagami hesitated, "You two were supposed to fight. So we could see which was superior. Psycologically enhanced, Nicholi, or physically enhanced, Zero. We thought Zero was dead when Callen rampaged through the lab, killing a newer version of Nicholi and Maria."

 

"Now you see that isn't the case. Now get out."

 

Yagami left without another word, though his thoughts stayed with them, IF Zero and Nicholi are still alive, then we need to stop production of Nicholi immediately. Zero could be the stronger of the two.

Zain watched Yagami leave Toji's house and hurried in, "Hey, who was that? What happened here?"

 

"Some lackey of my father's."

 

Zain frowned, "Someone from the lab was here? What did he want?" Nicholi sat up, "It's nothing Zain. I'm sorry, I couldn't get into the lab. Something...happened to me when I entered the place."

 

"I'll have to experiment a bit on my own then. There's no way I'd be able to get back into the lab now. "

 

Zain nodded, he felt light-headed. "I'm gonna go take a nap, wake me if anything else happens." Ari followed him happily and Zero helped Nicholi into a chair, "You think that doctor guy will tell your father, Toji? That you're hiding shadows out here?" "ZERO! We are not hiding! We're resting here for the moment, we'll leave in the morning tomorrow. We can't afford to stay here so close to the lab anymore." "Say what you want, I'm staying here with Zain. I want to find a cure for his crystalization."

 

"Honestly, I doubt it. He might have acted tough, but anyone that works with my father is a coward."

 

Callen stood, "Still, we cannot afford to stay here any longer. There is no cure for what we are. We know that."

 

"Take care of yourselves out there, then."

 

Callen nodded and dragged Zero with him out the door. "Ah, we'll be alright, and I'll be back to check up on you Nicholi!"

 

Toji went to his lab and began to experiment.

 

Although, probably unwanted, Nicholi followed Toji and watched him curiously. "Humans are interesting. You're behavioral patters differ from moment to moment, unlike shadows. We have one track mind sets and that's that."

 

Toji ignored him and continued his experiments.

 

Nicholi seemed relentless in his rambling, "You don't like me do you? It's because of how I look, isn't it?" he glanced down at his white t-shirt and white pants, "Perhaps less white?"

 

"It's not that, I just tend to get wrapped up in my work."

 

"So it seems, but the way I appear does bother you. I can see it in your eyes. You, Zain, Zero, father, and that girl. The only I don't seem to surprise is Ari. But I doubt you could find much that surprises her. She's...less human than the others I've seen. Her lifespan won't last much longer. Her days are numbered."

 

"Wasn't made very well, was she?"

 

"No, I'm afraid not. Something's missing in her brain that gives different emotions and a sense of perspective to address oneself as "I"." Nicholi seemed to be missing something in the way he spoke. HIs voice remained emotionless.
