Toji went to get another sample of Yuki's blood and worked to synthesize an injection to counteract the crystallization.

 

Zain left to check on Daieko. He wasn't at home, nor was Shemhazi. "That's weird. He's always here moping about how he's going to die." A snarl emitted from the corner and Zain turned to see a shadow crouched there with Daieko's clothes torn but still on him. "Damn."

 

Toji finished the injection and waited for Zain to return.

 

Daieko tackled Zain and bit into him. "N-no, Daieko! Get off me!" Zain's arm wouldn't move, "What?" The crystals spread down his arm, immobilizing his entire right arm. The longer Daikeo kept his fangs in him, the faster the crystals spread.

 

Yuki went looking for Zain. She had a feeling where he went and knew the outcome wouldn't be pretty.

 

"No, no, no, no, no! Daieko!" The rapid progress of the crystals spread across his entire body and started on his internal organs. He frantically looked around, Daieko was gone.

 

Yuki soon found Zain. Toji had followed her with what he thought would cure Zain.

 

Eden stood above Zain, glittering tears in her eyes falling onto the crystalized Zain. "Im afraid...you're too late to save him." Zain struggled to breath in hs crystal cocoon.

 

Yuki snatched the syringe from Toji and spilled some of her blood on Zain, exposing a spot for her to inject him with the cure. She quickly stuck the syringe in him and injected the cure in him.

 

Zain struggled to focus on Yuki, "Yuki...I'm not gonna.." Eden spread seven different golden wings and crouched next to Zain, "With you until the end, my friend. Orphan...has always been with us." she pulled up a piece of her armor to reveal a human looking face.

 

Yuki felt tears falling from her face.

 

Zain struggled with his breaths. Eventually it stopped.

 

Yuki began to cry. She didn't know what to do now that she lost her only family.

 

Eden touched Zain's crystal heart and melded into Zain. His body disappeared, leaving only a rather large shard of purple crystal, still glowing vibrantly.

Nicholi cautiously peeked around the corner at Yuki, "You know...he's not dead. Not like that anyway. Zain is with Eden and unfortunately Orphan. This marks the beginning of a battle between two who will never know the truth of their love for eachother. Orphan, the crystaline monster, and Cara, the child of the Gods. You've heard the story, and now, we witness the true beginning of it."

 

Yuki stared at the crystal shard.

 

"Your brother will be back. In a different form maybe, but he's always alive in some realm. As Orphan. Do not cry, Yuki. You have your own life to live now. One day, I promise you, you'll meet him again."

 

"Probably after I'm long dead." Yuki said as she walked out.

 

Nicholi followed her, "If that's what you choose to believe." He felt tired from all the running around.

 

Yuki went back home and flopped down on the couch.

 

Nicholi curled up on the floor next to her and watched Ari pace back and forth, waiting for Zain to return, "Ari sit down. You're making me dizzy." "Ari's waiting for Zain-Sensei to come home."
