Does anyone here have any pet peeves that they just can't stand or just find very annoying?

Well, here are mine, with reasons.

    Males That Sag Their Pants:
I don't mind if a little bit of underwear show, but when a person's pants are below their butt, it's definitely intentional. I don't even mind half showing as long as they're above their butt. If they're showing, but they're above their butt, I look at it more like their pants are just a little down or their underwear are riding up. Additionally, you know it's 100% intentional when they have a belt on, but their pants are below their butt.

Personally, I don't think it makes a person cool to do that; to be honest, it does the complete opposite and makes them repulsive.

I guess this could be equivalent to women's cleavage.

    Blaring Music:
I really dislike when people are pretty much right in front of one's house and have their music blaring to the point where, no matter where one is in their house, it can rattle the whole house.

I remember a time when someone had their music blaring outside of our house, and my TV, my mom's TV, and something else (I think my mom's TV in her bedroom) were all the way up, and we still couldn't hear them.

Anyway, let's start a discussion! What are your guys' pet peeves and why? :)

Could've sworn there was a thread like this already...

    Calling Manga "Anime"
This knocks me off my rocker. Some people assume manga is called anime. I draw manga for a living (well, working on it at least xD), and they tell me, "Wow! you're really good at drawing that anime stuff!"

I know it is not intentional, but i mentally facepalm. However i tell them that the easiest way to remember is this:
    "Anime is the Animation"
    "Manga is the Magazine"

That usually makes it easy to remember.

I can not stand when people cough loudly. Yes I know it's weird but I hate loud noises in general. I might be as blind as a bat but I have great hearing so when people cough like crazy loud it really really hurts my poor ears. :(

Calling every boy x boy manga/anime 'yaoi'.
There's an obvious difference from shounen-ai and yaoi. Please learn that difference.

A person calling themselves an 'otaku' as if it's a positive term.
Otaku is an insult in Japan, it literally means 'basement-dweller' or someone who stays home all the time and doesn't have a life. It doesn't mean 'anime/manga fan'. Why would you want to insult yourself?

    "It's my style!"
Whether drawing or writing, you hear this a lot. If you point out an anatomy mistake or a grammar mistake and someone replies with, "Sorry man, it's just my style"... that doesn't mean it's automatically correct. Sure, you may be used to writing or drawing that way, but it still isn't right.

I have many other pet peeves, but I won't go over those. Those three are my biggest ones. :D

I really... REALLY Despise when people walk slowly in front of you in a big group down stairs of between classes and it's impossible to get past them without shoving them out of the way which i'm too nice to do that in the first place. Plus, i'm scared of getting stabbed by someone ._. lol

The thing is though that the drawing style is the same :o that's why most people just say anime lol...

That may be the case, however, manga was the origin.

Manga isn't just post World War II, but rather, it is the feudal art style in many traditional Japanese manuscripts. It only became more "comic book" like when the influence of Post-Modern America's comics reached the shores of Japan.

That is a silly thing though... I will only call it anime if someone can prove to me that Television existed before the comic book.

(Sorry, I do not intend to sound mean, just speaking my mind.)

Don't worry it's fine i'm with you 100% it's just that most people don't know or care about manga... <.<' and i'm the same way if someone says like an anime name wrong or they say that Chinese people and Japanese people are the same... -.-'

In that case, it is a sign of stereotyping.

Unfortunately, this is very evident in the United States, not because we are bad people, but because of our Geography and our Political position in the world seems to greatly affect some American rationale.

Japanese people are Japanese, Chinese people are Chinese. If you care enough to remotely see the differences in language, culture, and people, you will see that there is a major difference between the two. They aren't the same just because they have similar eye structure.

    My Pet Peeves

I hate people who criticize over the smallest things like they are perfect themselves.(Do it to the wrong person and your bound to get dropped.)

I hate it when there's like a small amount of chalk or maker left on the board after it was erased.

Sagging pants(Its stupid because its a jail term for I'm an easy target, do me just don't hurt me. Things like that.)

People talking in a different language cursing you out when your right there(Silly fools I can understand you.)

People getting mad when they are told to take off their caps, hats, hoodies, earphones, headphones put their cell phones away and ipods, mp3 players all that stuff. You know your supposed to put that stuff away, but yet still act surprised when you get caught with it.

Slow walkers in the hallways(I just want to punch people so badly I mean you have all that space, but just hold everyone up just to talk to someone really like what are you 5. Come on now do that some other time.)

When teachers do something after they tell you not to do it.(I'm still in awe about how they get hired.)

You doing something that's not even that bad like a joke in a way and you get in so much trouble for it. Someone else does it its no problem the whole class loves em.

Your quiet in class and the teacher is always on your case, but the one that never shut up can do whatever they please.

People OD-ing on the word swagg(The smallest things are swagg now. Walking up the stairs...swagg... Yo its gonna rain tomorrow... swagg)

People trying to act hood or swear they are hard because where they live is not an ok place to live.(Yo you live in Rockland your not that tough.)

Cell Phones I understand having one for emergencies and there are probably people out there that use them responsibly but there are people who seem glued to these things 24/7. I mean, I work as a cashier in a supermarket and there will be these people either yakking away or texting all the while during the transaction. Not only is it disrespectful to me who is only trying to do my job well but it is also disrespectful of the other costumers behind you in line.

Also, people who talk/text while driving. I personally am hoping that there will be a ban on this in my county because it just boggles my mind how you can focus on the other person and on the road at the same time. I'm good at multi-tasking but...this just puts other people at risk.

People who get hired for jobs but never want to work. Kinda self-explanatory. They always seem to have an excuse for why they can't work or they flat out try to tell the employer when and when they cannot work. Oh and they always seem to want off for every little thing.

Yup-yup. I've got a problem with that too. If someone calls manga anime or the other way around, it really annoys me. I mean, can't you get it through your head that Anime is a show, animation and all that stuff? And that manga is a magazine and whatever? It's so stupid when you have to explain it over and over.
And also when people think that things like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy are anime......I can't get over that. I try to explain so much, but people just always think it's anime.

    When people blast their headphones:
This one is pretty self-explanitory. I mean, headphones aren't meant for you to put on and let other people still hear what you're listening to. You have them so you can keep it to yourself and not annoy others. And yet you still annoy them by blasting your music and letting people listen in to music, and it's even more annoying since it's that noise that isn't as loud as if it were on speakers, and yet it's softer but even more obnoxious.

And when you're on the bus....Man I can't get over this. Buses say "NO loud music. Use Headphones." They don't say that just so you can have it so loud everyone in the city hears it. I think they're missing the point between the loud music and headphones

Well I can understand people not totally understanding everything has different categories. Japanese modern Pop Culture is very universal, and to people with little to no knowledge of it make the assumption of calling it all anime.

With KH and FF, i can see your frustration there as well. However, I even have difficulty putting them into a category, save video game. So i guess i can understand that, but it just seems appalling how its not obvious that cartoons and drawings are completely different.

"That's Gay" I hear this derogatory saying everywhere I go. I'm gay myself, and I can't help but feel alienated every time I hear this. When I brought up the fact that I don't appreciate this saying to a friend, he responded, "It's just another way of saying stupid."

People Asking Me if I Have a Girlfriend A lesser pet peeve of mine, I don't blame people for being curious, or not knowing that I'm gay, but I think if you ask someone if they have someone special, you shouldn't assume they're straight.

"Alot" This is not a word in the English language.

Smug Cults Examples include some vegetarians (I am a vegetarian, but I think pride is indeed a vice), and the cultist following behind Apple Inc. and their products. I find it irritating when someone behaves like they're royalty, superior, or part of some exclusive club just because they own, use, or do something others don't. I admit sometimes I can get smug about things like my own vegetarianism, especially when defending it as a valid and healthy diet, though as of late I have tried stopping this.

Table Manners: It’s extremely difficult for me to watch messy eaters. Spilling food here and there is not pleasant to watch at all. If you’re eating at a clean place, shouldn’t you try to keep the place as clean as possible as you can while you eat? I know a lot of people do not quite follow this, but it’s just as nice to keep elbows off the table, and refraining from talking with a mouth full of food.

Organization: I suppose it comes from the fact that I’m a little OCD, but it do like seeing a clean house amd/or workspace. It’s really not that hard to organize. Just put things back from where you take it after use. Just a small effort made at the time of can make a huge difference. Some files and folders can make a big difference too. Also…if you don’t need something, just throw it away, don’t save it because you’ll be needing it 5 years later.

“Should ofâ€: It’s should have. I don’t mind it when someone makes the mistake first and continue making it because no one else corrected them before, but after me telling you it’s should have 20+ times…you should know it.

Yikes i'm guilty of alot of these (disorganization, being hired but not wanting to work, and the alot thing, just to name a few)

Personally i can't stand loud music when someone's playing it even though they know you're nearby and it irritates you.

Can't stand people that, no matter what, refuse to admit they're wrong.

Those people that are always saying "i told you so" when you're wrong and they're right about something, though i admit i am guilty of that myself.

I'm guilty of this one. I like blocking out all sounds when I'm listening to my iPod. But on that note, I do not like it when people blast their music during a party. It's really not necessary that you should max out your volume and let the entire neighborhood know that you are throwing a party. But what irritates me the most is that the music doesn't stop till it reaches well into the AM's. 1 AM. 2 AM. 3 AM. People are sleeping, yes?

I personally cannot stand when people stand around in hallways. It was especially bad when I was in school, felt like a traffic jam. I am not claustrophobic, but it gets really old, really quick.

Also people that are prejudice towards other cultures. I find that to be rude and very arrogant. You may not like the cultures in particular, but they are interesting and should be at the very least respected in my opinion.

I hate it when people in front of you walk soooooo slowly, especially since I am a naturally fast walker. It really gets on my nerves when I'm in a hurry and I'm being held up by a group of girls who decide they NEED to talk about X and Y while walking extreeeeeemely slowly. (Not always girls, just using that as an example.)

I also hate it when people ask stupid questions to a teacher or such. It baffles me how some people need to ask some of these pointless questions >.>

Eating with your mouth wide open and just bad table manners in general.

People who feel the need to look at what I am doing every 5 seconds.

People who ask me to give them answers to questions.

Smug people who think they are better at everything and everyone.

    Bullies.
