What is this?
Objective: To complete the game with only one type pf pokemon
All this talk of pokemon lately has inspired me to create this;
A Challenge to prove your Skill as a Pokemon trainer!
As we all know, Gym Trainers are known for using pokemon with a certain type. Well now it's your turn!
A member may choose a type they wish to pursue and use only those types of Pokemon in battle.
Since starters are only Fire, Grass, or Water, some rules can apply.
Note that this is for fun and feel free to take pictures if you can.
If I've peaked your interest, feel free to sign up!

YOU'RE STARTING FROM SCRATCH.
So please don't sign up if you have a problem starting a new game file.
(9 Rules, updated if necessary)

1) You are allowed to use whatever Pokemon starter to use until the point where you can catch a Pokemon of your type. From there on, you are to use only that Pokemon type.
Only 1 member can choose each type. First come, First Serve!
Dual-types are allowed, but one of their types must correspond to the type you have selected!
For Example; If a Member chose Water type, Cloyster (Being of both Ice and Water) would be a permitted candidate.
You may reserve a type if you cannot start right away. Reservations last 10 days. (7 if some one else requests it)

2) You are permitted 4 HM Slaves (1 for Water moves, 1 for Terrain moves, 1 for Misc. moves, and 1 for fly) to make the game easier. (An HM Slave is a pokemon you only use to teach HMs to) Your HM Slave does not have to correspond to your chosen type.
THESE MAY ONLY BE USED OUTSIDE BATTLE. IF THEY ARE UN-NEEDED TO CLEAR AN OBSTACLE, STORE THEM IN YOUR PC!
You may only use HM slaves in battle if you have under 2 of your pokemon types in your Roster.

3) Emulators are permitted, but No Cheats! Play fair. Also play at normal speed.

4) You are allowed to have a Pokemon that will evolve into your type.
Example; If you have chosen the Fighting type, and caught a Poliwag, you can keep it so long as you intend to level it to the corresponding type; Poliwrath (who is both Water and Fighting)
If you find your game doesn't hold a good amount of your pokemon type, you are more than welcome to change your game version so long as you haven't progressed too far into the game. (Before your 3rd Gym Badge)

5) You may play any pokemon Game (From Blue/Red to Black 2/White 2) Try to choose a game that holds a surplus of the type you choose.
Example, choosing the Dark Type and playing Pokemon Blue, would be unwise since there are no Dark types in that game.

6) Legendaries are not permitted outside of the trio legends
Banned List: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Groudon, Kyougre, Rayquaza, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Regigigas, Giratina, Dakrai, Arceus, Phione, Manaphy, Shaymin, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldo, Genesect, Meleotta.

7) Trading is only permitted to Evolve a Pokemon.

8) You are permitted 1 Helper until you have 2 or more pokemon of your type in your Roster.

9) You may only have 1 duplicate of 1 pokemon in your roster.
If the version you play has more than 6 pokemon of your type, duplicates are not permitted

Updates can include Pokemon evolving, New places you've visited, Badges obtained, and any new pokemon you've added to your roster.
If using an emulator, feel free to take snapshots.

If you find you have beaten the game, but still wish to take part in the challenge, you are more than welcome to choose a new type that is not reserved or currently being played. For every type you've accomplished, you're Gym leader is awarded a Plate as proof you have used that type to beat a Pokemon Game. Think you can do it 17 times and collect them all?
There is a 3 day waiting period before selecting a new type.
The Draco Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Dragon Type Pokemon.
The Dread Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Dark Type Pokemon.
The Earth Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Ground Type Pokemon.
The Fist Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Fighting Type Pokemon.
The Flame Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Fire Type Pokemon.
The Icicle Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Ice Type Pokemon.
The Insect Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Bug Type Pokemon.
The Iron Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Steel Type Pokemon.
The Meadow Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Normal Type Pokemon.
The Median Plate is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed the game using Normal Type Pokemon.

Regional Badges
For every Version you've accomplished, you're Gym leader is awarded a Regional Badge as proof that you have Beaten that Region. There are 5 to collect! Beating the same version more than once does not get you a duplicate badge.

Regional Badges have no set design. If you're a talented artist, by all means make some!

The Kanto Badge is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed either;
Pokemon Blue, Pokemon Red, Pokemon Yellow,
Pokemon LeafGreen, or Pokemon FireRed.

The Johto Badge is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed either;
Pokemon Gold, Pokemon HeartGold,
Pokemon Silver, Pokemon SoulSilver
or Pokemon Crystal.

The Hoenn Badge is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed either;
Pokemon Emerald,
Pokemon Ruby,
or Pokemon Sapphire.

The Sinnoh Badge is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed either;
Pokemon Diamond,
Pokemon Pearl,
or Pokemon Platinum.

The Unova Badge is awarded to the gym Leader who has completed either;
Pokemon Black, Pokemon Black 2

Yeah, I remember that. The computer I had started it on refused to save, so when there was a power outage one day I lost that file. I'll try to go for the same three (though catching both Plusle and Minun took a solid hour or so in itself), and thank you.

While you're updating, Ben is now level 14 and I plan on making him Charmeleon very soon. I won against my Rival on the Route West of Viridian [1] and took on Brock's Junior trainer and won; proven by the dialogue in the second picture. Currently in Pewter City leveling up Ben. May be irrelevant, but I also gave more info on Ben, with such trifles as Nature and Move Set.

Ben the Charmeleon is here! And he managed to get a Boulder badge pretty easily all on his lonesome.

Now headed for Mt. Moon on Route 3, not yet having beat any of the challengers awaiting.

In Mt. Moon, I was faced with the hardest decision of my life: A. Kabuto, that I cannot use or B. Omanyte that I cannot use. I picked B. Maybe my Rock Smash slave, but Omanyte can't do much more and I want Silph Co.'s Lapras to be my Surfing slave; Lexi the Lapras. Anyways, cleared Mt. Moon.

I rushed far too fast and got my heart chewed up and handed to me when I tried rushing across the bridge in Cerulean to face the Nugget Bridge 5 +1 to get my Oddish Helper. I got my beat down from my rival the first go, and having never visited Cerulean city's Pokemon Center, I had to trek back to Mt. Moon and face two new trainers I managed to miss the first time. Moral of this story? Mega Kick works great on Squirtle. Thanks to the backtrack, I was able to acquire the move for Ben to take down the biggest opponent in my way on my Rival's roster. After he was dealt with, Nugget Bridge was a snap and I got my Audine the Oddish to help me for now.

After beating my Rival; little git said "CHICKEN BUTT!" Directly after this lineee,...okay, no he did not. He gave me the Fame Checker and went about his merry way. I sort of regret naming my Rival after me, but it was the only name I could think of. xD

Audine, my Helper Pokemon; took 3 of the 5 Pokeballs I had, because Ben was too strong to get her lower than yellow with his weakest attack, SCRATCH.

Currently in Cerulean City (Stuck there since I visited the Pokemon Center there this time around) leveling up Audine to go against Cerulean City Gym, which is the one trouble area left, generally speaking, for my type. I may level her up to a Gloom as she is now level 14, and Ben is level 25! Do I have to release her eventually, or can I keep her in my PC? Well, anyways, that's enough Pokemon Fire Red for one day; end of Day 1.

EDIT:

Before heading to bed, I had what I thought was a marvelous idea for the regional badges:
Logs of wood/Trees. Oak, Elm, Birch, Rowan, and Juniper to be exact. I'll get to work tomorrow on the looks. Birch would look better as a log, as the bark itself is recognizable, but others will have to be trees.

Been playing since later last night and I just beat the Dewford Gym leader. Torch leveled up into a Combusken and I taught him Cut (so I guess that makes him my first HM slave, though he'll also learn Rock Smash and strength, so it's no problem), I caught my Taillow (Fly HM slave) and was forced to catch a Shroomish to learn Flash (third slave then, I suppose). I'm going into the cave on Route 106; should be at the electric gym soon.

EDIT: At Slateport and I caught Minun, Electrike and Plusle. Torch, Taillow and Shroomish are all in the PC.
