"Um....yes?" he said confusedly. He hadn't expected her to turn around to him. "Don't worry about missing your shift, everyone is worried after what happened" he said a little more definatively."Everyone is either, continuing with everything just waiting, or thinking about whats coming".
"Your Kahlan, right?" he said as he reached out to shake her hand.

 

"Um... Yes." She replied, taking his hand and shaking it firmly. She looked suspiciously at him. "It was nice meeting you... I gotta go." Kahlan stood up. She looked back at him. "Sorry." She wasn't the social type. She was uncomfortable talking to new people, especially now with everything going on. She started walking, and after a few minutes, looked back to see if she was out of Adam's line of sight, then sat down under a tree. She drew her knees up to her chest, and rested her chin in between them. "Life really sucks."

 

Nicole saw Kahlan sitting by herself under a tree so she walked up to her. "Hey, Kay!" she said loudly. "What's up? You look a little bit upset. Are you all right?" She then thought, I hope its not because of that guy getting killed. I just feel so bad for not being able to help him...

 

It took Kahlan a minute to notice Nicole, but whan she finally did, she looked up at her and said, "I don't know what do do anymore Nicole." More tears streamed down her face. "What if more people die? What if you're next... Or me... Or people we know?" She looked at Nicole, her face full of fear. "You heard about the note... The whole island is next." Kahlan rubbed her running nose on her jeans. "What are we going to do?"

 

Neil sat in the sand-His hands cupped his ears and he rocked back and forward-He blinked forcfully and was breathing harshly...I need my medicine...He got up in search for Hannah,Who had the Herbs needed to calm him of hs stupid fear,So he could be temporeily normal again....

 

Hannah moved along the plants until she found the one she was looking for, it was a small plant with rough blue-green leaves. She smiled slightly and picked several leaves, this plant had relaxing medicinal properties that were quite strong.

 

"Hannah!" Neil exclaimed-He fast walked up to her-He put his hands on her shoulders "Em...Do you have...Do you have..Do..." he stuttered but then went silent and thought..."Do-Do you have t-the herbs I need?" he asked as if explaining the question to himself..."That I need for..." he thought really hard,Trying to calm himself-"My Herbs.Do you have them?" he asked slowly,Releived he got his question across....With his medication he wouldnt be like this...

 

Hannah, blinked a few times before nodding, "Yeah, they're here" She passed him the leaves she had just picked, "Chew them thoroughly before you swallow"

 

He nodded and popped th leaves into his mouth-He could taste the metallic taste of mint through his nose-He made sure it ws nothing but mush before he swallowed. After a few moments he nodded..."...Hannah,What would I do without you?" he smiled,thanking-His sence had returned...Normal...For Now. "Thanks...You need Help with the-Um..." he looked down at the
herbs..

 

She laughed, "It's no problem and no, I'm just about done anyway but thanks for the offer. Do you want to get a drink or something?"

 

He smiled "Sure." He rubbed his neck as if to make sure it was screwn on tight so his head wouldnt fall off...Calm Down,Im here,Im medicated and not crazy...He reminded himself with a click of his tounge and a following smile.

 

"You alright there?" She asked, her voice twinged with concern as she smiled warmly at him. She liked Neil, he had his problems but he was a nice boy beneath it all and she worried for him.

 

He nodded before he answerd "Yeah..." His hand still traced the back of his neck. He bit his lip so it almost drew blood. "Yeah." he repeted,more secure. He dropped his hand from his neck to brush his hair out of his eyes "...Im just...Its just...that man-who died-Nobody will tell me about it...They dont want to worry me..." he sighed and then looked up at Hannah through baby blue worrying eyes...

 

As Kahlan walked away he got the sense that he had done something or said something wrong. "Damn it" he said as he smacked his palm against his forehead. "As usual....2 he sighed as he walked away from the beach and notices Kahlan against a tree but tries sneak passed her out of ambaressment. Unlocked the restaruant again as he saw the sun fall along the horizon. He flicked on the lights and went into the kitchen and prepared a small meal for himself and eat in the restaraunt before he would walk to the other side of the island.

Jenson sat in her bed, waiting, but not for anything in particular. She stood up and left her house, locking the door behind her, then pushing the knob afterwards to make sure it latched. She began to walk down towards the beach. She felt her left hip, making sure her knife was there, and sat near the water, watching, even though she new the group wouldn't be here yet. They told her to wait by the shore for them, and she would.

 

Adam cooked himself Cari Curry with rice and sat at a table that was right alongside the window and began to eat, thinking about the "thing" under his bed. As he tasted the sutile taste of lemon grass he began to think of the girl on the beach but then suddenly thought of something else...
He finished up and locked the restaruant and took off to his place. He unlocked the door and ran up to his bedroom and took the sports out from under his bed, threw it over his shoulder. He locked the door on his way out and went down to the beach. "If there is someone out there then i'll make sure this place remains prosperous" he thought as he walked down the beach.

 

Jenson jumped up with a start as she heard someone approach. She whirled around, pulling out her knife. "Touch me, and this goes into your neck. Who are you?" She lowered the knife when she recognized him as one of the local cooks. "Oh. What do you want?" Her words came out harsher than she meant for them to, but she didn't apologize. Is someone on to me? No... No he's just a cook. But still... She realized that she was making herself look suspicious with her knife out, so she put it away, and stood straight. "May I help you?"

 

Adam was extremely suspicious at the fact that one of the islands carers had a knife and was ready to use it. He clenched the straps of the sports bag over his shoulder tightly with his left hand.
"Well i'm just patrolling along the beach. Just a concerned citizen of the island waiting for the terrorists to come and then i'll report them to the authorities" he said with what looked sincere smile.

 

She smiled sypathetically at him, "Don't worry about it. I'm probably not the best person to tell you about it but no one knows much anyway. All we know is somebody on the island did it and that's put everyone on edge"
