Ready Or Not

Xemnas pushed back his seat behind his desk. Almost like a spirit, he rose from his chair. Taking two steps forward, Xemnas glared at his two subordinates with his burnt orange eyes. They still didn't understand how critical the situation was. They didn't comprehend that not only the plan was in jeapordy, but that Xiomora's life aswell. They're numbers were small, minscule compared to the following he had a few months since the last raid. Every able body was needed to help stave off extermination. "I am not asking you to pick up a stray gun in the desert. I'm ordering you to bring back one of our community, our pack, or any other term you'd prefer. It may not look it, but we need her and she needs all. All for the sake of living past these Backdoor Slaughters."

 

Asha heard a door close to a near by building, knowing that the trick worked, running towards the noise of frantic footsteps in the opposite way. She was going to catch this one. She knew it. She put her pistol away, running full speed now, not expecting any sudden movements from the other.

Namine continued to run, knowing that the Soldier was right on her tail. She needed to move, quick. She jumped behind a wall, not even breathing for a second, her face hot from running. She could hear her heart beat in her ears, making it harder to think. Then suddenly she saw a woman run by, not noticing her standing right there. She waited until she heard the footsteps out of distance, then ran through the alley. She knew that wasn't the last of her, but she at least had a while before she would catch up. Namine then ran towards the airport, not too far from here. She needed to get out of here.

 

Xigbar looked at him, "if you say so sir, do we have any information on where she is going sir?" he asked, this time wary of Xemnas's anger.

 

"I am expecting you to to know where she went. After all, you two are the most important peole in her life." Emminating an intimidating aura, Xemnas brushed past Xigbar and out the door. Tilting his head over his shoulder, he made one last remark. "I am expecting you two to work together on the recapture of our little lady. If you don't be expecting two more names on the list of missing persons." And with that, he stormed out of sight.

 

Xigbar turned to Murlaxa, "WTF? I hardly knew that girl, and you were supposed to be watching her while I took my nap!" he said.

"You know just as well as anyone that she looked up to you," Marluxia noted. He did not look forward to this but Xemnas was right. There was protection in numbers and they needed to bring her back. "Not that I approved of someone as young as her looking up to someone like," He looked Xigbar up and down and dreaded having to travel the desert heat with "you." If he had the chance, Marluxia would have murdered the leader in cold blood right then and there.

He sighed. "We should head out. The sun is setting. It's easier to travel at night. Knowing her she won't be going anywhere. It'll be easier to travel by horse." The Graceful Assassin noted, and with that he headed out of Xemnas' office to the stables.

Xioimara made big strides through the thick brush as she looked for a spot to rest. It would be easier to travel at night all together, harder to see(for others anyways), colder and safer from hunters. However, Xioimara did have a small flaw and that was fear of the dark. Despite having good vision, even at night, she didn't like not being able to see what was far ahead of her. Xioimara found a small spot under a rock to hide for now. The sun had almost set and the temperature was slowly dropping. She felt a little relaxed knowing that she had put a lot of distance between herself and the Organization. However, she wasn't aware of how much distance she had brought herself to the army.

Bill made his way back to base with his horse. The army base was made of small white tents and small fires to keep the soldiers warm. From what he could tell it hadn't been a successful day for anyone. He knew deep down this mission was failing and the governments weren't going to give up. These creatures were awfully good at hiding or they were already in scarce numbers as far as Bill could tell. They'd probably just end up dying out before anyone could kill them anyways.

 

Xigbar followed him silently, thinking about what he had said, the dumb kid looked up to me? Is being rude how the young ones show appreciation these days? he wondered.

I'm kinda lost anyway, there's just so much going on, and there isn't a set spot on what was where and everything. So, should I start over?

 

Ondia felt land under her feet again. She had been travelling by boat for the past few days, She breathed in the new smells of America. Without saying any thank you's or good bye's she walked from the docks.
She carried on walking till the docks were far from sight, Ondia put her hood down her blonde hair fluttered like butterfly wings as she realsed it from her hood.
'I..wonder where I am?' Ondia asked herself, she believed to be in west america. But there was no time for exploring. it was dark night had fallen. Ondia needed to find a safe place to sleep

Marluxia lead the way to the stables. He had heard news of this electric car up in the East. He didn't have a big interest in the idea but it made for easier travel apparently. He tacked up his horse, a dark brown quarter horse with black stockings and mane. Marluxia got on the horse as he waited for Xigbar.
"I honestly have no idea which direction she headed in. With her luck though she's probably gotten a good amount of distance from us." He started, "If I can guess something about her, she's probably going to be a lot slower in a day or two." He noted.

Xioimara stayed under the shelter she had found as the night gave her a shiver. She could hear coyotes in the distance scavenge for a meal. The sounds of crickets chirping kept her company as she slowly fell asleep. Xioimara tried to keep in mind that she had to rise early and keep moving as her eyes closed.

Bill unsaddled his horse and tied the reigns of its bridle to the hitching post as he turned in for the night. He was starting to become accustomed to waking up at dawn along with the other soldiers and then repeat the same thing every day. Look for refugees, protect yourself, and leave civilians alone.

 

Ondia listened as her worn boots pressed agaisnt the almost ackle high grass. She was tring to find a safe place to sleep.
After wondering around for almost an hour, she given up.
'Any place..will do' She said outloud while looking around. It was hard to see since clouds had covered the only guiding light the moon. Her eye lids began drooping. Ondia looked to the side of her. It was the bottom of a great hill.
'I guess I could sleep here' She said already lying down on the soft ticklish grass. She peered up to see a rock shelter a little higher up.
She thought about going up to invesigate but the countless hours of not sleeping had taken its toll. Ondia listend as the crickets near her seemed to be singing a realxing lullaby. She began to lightly snore as she fell asleep

 

Xigbar grabbed his own horse, and got it ready to ride, "ok, then where do you want to start looking, animal tracks?" he asked, "or better yet, tracks that turn from human to animal?"

 

Xioimara awoke to the sound of movement. She was a light sleeper for the most part. The puma stood up and with a bump to the head from the rock she remembered where she was. Xioimara rubbed her head with her paw for a second and slid out from under the rock. She squinted down the dead grassy hill at a figure in the grass. She looked around. A road was nearby. She couldn't afford attention. Xioimara sighed and stalked down the hill towards the stranger.

As Xioimara approach the stranger she didn't keep in mind that she still had her wild cat appearance. She flicked her paw against the girls' arm. Her gold eyes peering down at the kid. It was just as tired as her.
Was she running as well?

"Animal. If not human to animal." Marluxia started forward. "I think I might have a pretty good idea where she would be hiding." Marluxia said. "Follow me." He urged his horse forward into a canter and headed off. There was a small canyon she often went to. It had a good view of the land ahead and little dangers. If she wasn't there then this would turn into one long hunt.

 

Xigbar urged his horse on as well, keeping his eyes on Murlaxa ahead of him, with one hand on his guns, ready to draw them at a moment's notice.

Though when one day a boy was abandoned in the city, he decided to take him in. It was uncertain of the boy's origin or anything about him.Father of Piero.

Onida felt a hard quick flick brush against her arm, she tiredly fluttered her eyes. her vison was blurred at first but as she blinked one more time she saw a wild cat standing over her. Panicking Ondia jolted awake and rolled to the side at fast speed . The wild cat was oppisostie her. Ondia started in to breathe heavily in panic as she
stood up.

Would she have to attack? She thought to herelf. But if the cat was going to eat her why hadnt attacked while she was sleeping?. Then Ondia looked into the cats eyes. They was gold. Unusual colour Ondia thought. Mabye this wasnt an animal but one of the other refugee's? still unsure, Ondia moved her hand to the the rock shelter suddenly the top halve came shooting down and now was floating beside her.
'W-who-what are you?!' Ondia said with slight fear in her voice.

Xioimara huffed as the stranger showed its strength to her, and at the same time, ruined her shelter. "I'd prefer you keep my shelter in tact. At least for my remaining hours here." She started, aggravation laced into her voice. She started back to her shelter. "I suggest you take shelter with me instead of waving a white flag to the army by staying on the side of the road." She suggested.

Marluxia slowed his horse down as they neared the area. It was about a half-hours travel on horseback. He slowly approached the edge of the canyon. It quickly dropped a couple hundred feet to the bottom. Marluxia studied the bottom. It was much easier to see during the day. He could however see white tents that were illuminated by small camp fires. The Assassin dismounted his horse as he noticed a small shape lying on the ground not too far from them.
He knelt down to examine it. "Xioimara was here." He said to Xigbar. "Follow these paw prints," He pointed out for Xigbar. "I'll catch up with you when I can. I think the Superior should know about that." Marluxia waved over at the edge of the canyon where the Army stayed. Marluxia got back on his horse. "She shouldn't of gotten far. Best of luck." And with that Marluxia headed back off towards base camp to warn the Superior.

 

Xigbar nodded as he dismounted, "okay then, I'll just do all the work for you," he muttered, "youth these days!"

Xigbar followed the trail of paw prints on foot, so that the horse wouldn't ruin them.
