He had them being controlled by the death note of course, but he didn't want terri to know that after all.

He then turned to Blondie and said "So you aren't having fun, eh? Why is that?" he asked.

"Think of them as your slaves. It is like having a bunch of me's around, except they constantly go on about justice, and they will be like puddy in your hand" Matt tried to describe. "Plus you get all the candy you want!"

"Whatever you say" he said to her. "All I'm getting at is that you'll get to play with the kind of people that you aren't used to" he said.
