Return of Kira

Mellody smiled pleasantly at her, hoping she didn't see the phone in her left hadn as she slid it in her pcket. "You know Lana..." Mellody started. "The last person to visit was my brother, Dein... so i haven't had company in awhile, do you want to stay the night maybe?"

 

"Just as well I decided to go home before I came here, I had some sh*t I needed to collect up... None of my clothes fit anymore. I've lost a fair bit of weight since this thing started, and the operation and the coma made me loose around twenty pounds... something like 75 pounds now..." She sighed.

 

Mellody smield at her lightly. "thanks... you know, it's not good you losing all this weight..."

 

Lana gratiously returned the smile, before her face slipped into a grin "I've always been a skinny b*tch. Most I've ever weighed was around one hundred and one. Supposed be be around one-twenty though, at least that's what the doctors say."

 

Mellody giggled, for the first natural time in weeks. "And let me guess... you told them to shove it up their ar$es?"

 

"Hell yeah, told her to stick where the sun don't shine. Yeah... I'm not allowed back to that GP anytime soon." Lana smiled. "I'm not the most grateful of paitents. I have an abillity to p*ss everyone off within being there a few mintues. Expecially in the waiting rooms. I'm that weird teenager that plays with that strange toy that doctors always seem to have, you know the one where you slide those wooden beady things along these curled up wires."

 

Mellody laughed lightly this time and nodded.

 

Matt sighed, as he began to head back up stairs. "Then I'll just sleep until then" he said. He hated waiting oh so much

 

"Yeah... And Near used to p*ss me off with the rubber ducks." She laughed "So what about you? This has kinda been all about me, not to sure I llike being the centre of attention."

"Sure there's nothing you can do? Read a book, plan a plot? Make use of this spare time rather then sleeping it away. You need to learn to time manage mate."

 

Mellody shrugged. "Growing up it was just me and Dein, so there's not much to tell..."

 

"Just me when I was little, children's home escapee here. English social services suck, anyway... You have/had a brother?"

 

Mellody smiled at Lana, but then looked away staring delicately to a small picture on the wall of her and Dein when they weere younger. "Yeah... i think Kira got to him..."

 

"Kira's just ripping everyone's lives apart isn't she..."

 

"Yeah..." Mellody agreed silently. "Thanks for keeping me company by the way..."

 

"Don't mention it Mellody... I'm not completly heartless you know."

 

"Heh..." Mellody sighed smilng at her. "So, you want a drink or soem food maybe?"

 

"Nah, I'm not hungry." She smiled, the as though she'd suddenly realised or remembered something. "By the way, how do you know I'm called Lana? I know I haven't told you that, ever."

 

Mellody shrugged. "That i can't tell you sorry... though, if only to make things fair my real name is..." Mellody started. "Monique Jones..."

 

"And you changed it to Mellody? Monique is so much cooler. Though I went to Luna first... Oh and it's Lawliet. I dunno if you know all my real name."

 

Mellody smiled. "Mellody is just my alias... hell if you want, you can call me MOnique so lon as we're not in public."
