"Nah, I'll let it slip if I'm not carful. I'll keep with Mellody."

 

"ok" MMellody smiled. "Well, i guess that means i have to get used to calling you 'L' huh?"

 

"Yep, or Luna. Though, no one really calls me that anymore. I think I've got more aliases then the first L to be honest." Lana laughed. "L, Luna, Jennifer and Thirteen. Though I don't think anyone but Near has ever called me Thirteen."

 

"well then i won't strt." Mellody smiled. "I guess that can be Near's special nickname for you... I'll just call you L..."

 

Lana blushed ever so slightly as Mellody mentioned the idea of Near's 'special nickname' for her. Causually brushing her black fringe that reached almost to the end of her long nose over her face so that the pale red that was spreading over her white skin was less noticable "Nice to know you're finnally letting me be L." She smiled.

 

Mellody shrugged smling back at her. "You know it's strange... before this afternoon i would've laughed at you for that but now..."

 

"I know... Pathetic aren't I?" She laughed nervously. Lana, for the first time in years, was acting her real age. Eighteen, not twenty-eight like she always seemed to be. After all, what was often forgotten was she was eighteen. Not even out of highschool age by american standards.

 

Mellody smiled at her. "You're not pathetic, a little too emotional but not pathetic..."

 

"I'm normally alright, the whole brain damage thing has kinda f*cked me up emotionally though. Got to learn to control them again."

 

Mellody shrugged. "Can't help there..."

 

"Yeah, word of advice: Don't get shot in the same place twice. It screws you up big time."

 

"Yeah..." Mellody sighed. "Well... i know i've already asked and all but you sure you don't want a drink?"

 

"Yeah, I'm fine. You don't look so good though. You alright?"

 

"Yeah..." Mellody nodded, obviously not fine but trying to avoid it anyway.

 

"Now, don't try and pull the 'I'm fine' thing, I practically own that facade. And you owe me sooo much for making me admit what I just did. Come on, what's up hun?"

 

Mellody sighed. "It's just strange..." She explained.

 

"Strange? How do you mean?"

 

Mellody smiled. "I just really miss having company i guess... and no offense to Near but he's not good company..."

 

"He's fine, you've just got to get him talking about something he wants to talk about. Though, it does take a little more effort these days. We normally end up chatting about death or something else that's so joyously emoic like that. I think he must think about it a lot..."

 

"Which is why you should tell hjim how you feel!" Mellodystarted ahppy for a change of topic.
