    An introduction...
    Magic.
A term that is both not commonly used, or heard of.The general people live in fear of it, but what many of them do not know is that some of those that walk among them are magic users themselves. These users,if they were to be found out by the general public, would be shunned and rejected out of fear.
In the kingdom of Rivelle, in the capital city of Corvus, City of Nobles, led a great and wise king. He led his people justly and as well as any single man can. However, his rule was not to be a lengthy one. Merely two years after the king was crowned, a truly terrifying thing happened. The highly infamous, and extremely dangerous, assassin known only as Vex breached the walls of the great castle that the king resided in, and ended the once great ruler's reign.
Vex took over the throne, ruling with an iron fist. Anyone who dared to oppose or question him was met with a punishment of extreme severity; the death sentence, given to them by Vex himself. All of the people gradually gave in, many of the guards and people in Rivelle not wishing to oppose such a mighty villain for fear of themselves or their loved ones being slain. All, that is, except for a select few.
These few people, each of them knowing how to use magic, started up the Resistance. They fought back, stopping many of the guard posts and people that assisted Vex from doing their jobs, and slowly but surely people began to join them. The Resistance had few conditions for allowing someone to join. The person wishing to join had to be dedicated to stopping Vex, yet at the same time needed to be somewhat competent in combat. Naturally, some exceptions to the combat rule were made, such as people that knew how to heal or had great diplomatic skills to help infiltrate certain positions, but they had created what Vex had feared most; an army of the people that had been hurt by him.
Vex, recognizing this threat, began to hire mercenaries, thieves, and other murderers themselves, or really anyone that would assist him. He made his own army of magic users and warriors alike, calling them The Passing.
Now, the Resistance has gathered up enough courage and people willing to fight for the cause to oppose Vex directly. They believe that they are in a position to overthrow Vex and end his cruel tyranny. Rallying up their forces at the main base of operations in the town of Balmar, a town that was several weeks of travel away from Corvus, they embarked on a perilous quest, one that would change the fates of themselves and all of Rivelle forever..
    Rules
    1. Follow the rules of both KHV and the role-playing section rules.
    2. You may have a maximum of four characters.
    3. Please no one liners. This is more of a guideline rather than a rule, but I would prefer if there could be at least two paragraphs in your post.
    4. No god-modding.
    5. If you do not post within one week, I will send a pm to you. If two weeks go by without a post, your characters may be killed off. PM me if you have to go away somewhere or am having difficulties posting and I'm sure we can work something out.
    6. Try to have fun with it! You don't have to follow the exact storyline I've set, I've only given you the tools to begin with!

Caleb Stitem stood up from the chair he had been sitting on. He had called all members of the resistance to the meeting hall of the resistance base. The base itself was a large building with many rooms in it, one for each member and then there was the dining area, and finally the meeting hall, which contained the board of which many notes about objectives and next moves were pinned to. Looking around at all the people, Caleb couldn't help but feel happy and, to an extent, proud, at just how far he had come. No, not him. How far they had come, all of them. They were as close to a family as he had ever known.
"Friends, today we take the next stepping stone into a journey which will make this world a better place. For quite a long time we have sat by, doing a little work here and there to help people, and slowing the progress of that scoundrel that calls himself king. He is no king of mine, and he never will be, and today we begin making plans to remove him from his throne and restore peace!" Caleb said to everyone, upon the stage that he stood.
"Vex's army is strong indeed. Both him and his army has an endless source of wealth with which they may bribe people, they have powerful weapons, the most experienced soldiers.." Caleb began. He took a step closer to the small podium that had been made for him to put notes of what he would say there. He did not need notes though, what he said came from his heart and he meant every word. "But there are some things we have that they can never have. They will never know remorse, they will never have the bonds that we share, and the thing that they will never take from us is our freedom!" Caleb shouted that last part, raising his hand in the air as if to show that there was nobody to stop him. He was met with a loud cheer from the crowd of which he spoke to.
Caleb turned and stepped down from the podium. He allowed himself a smile as he walked down the very small set of stairs that had been crafted to get up and down the stage. That sounded far better in my head, but It should show them that I am with them he thought to himself calmly. He hopped off the last step, and took a seat next to the stage as he waited to see just how his speech would be taken.

Meanwhile, in a castle located in Corvus, the city of Nobles..

"Just WHAT are you doing sitting around here? While we sit here the weak plague the streets, contaminating my city! You should be out there, killing them in any and every way possible!" Vex yelled angrily to the small group of people he had called to the throne room earlier, the group known as The Passing. He said nothing after that, because despite being incredibly strong Vex was also no fool. He knew as well as most that The Passing could very well turn on him in an instant, any one of them deciding the throne was for them.
He pointed in an easterly direction to the hall that led to The Vault, where the kingdom's fortune lay.
"The first one of you that brings me the head of the Resistance leader will be rewarded handsomely, now get to it! Those rats must die" Vex said. If there was one thing Vex was constantly thinking about, it was all the "weaklings" that lived in Rivelle. He had a simple view, but one that to many would be considered wrong; anyone that is weak must be killed off. He would tolerate nobody that would slow him down, nobody that would stand in his way, and the sheer fact that anyone had actually listened to him for whatever reason and actually gone to the throne room as requested infuriated him. Yes, they had listened to him (or so he assumed), but he had hoped they ignored him and went after the Resistance as he wished.
He knew that crushing the resistance wasn't a force to be underestimated though. During his two years of reigning, the resistance had built up quite the reputation; something he despised.

Just outside of Balmar, in a small cave in The Wasteland, the vast area that was southern of Balmar and plagued nearly half of Rivelle, sat a boy with a Falcon resting on a small rock next to him. The boy's name was Zane, the exile of the resistance, and his friend was Ace. The two were very close, as close as a boy and his bird could be, but Zane was doing nothing to show it at that point. He was leaning forward, stoking the small fire he had made out of some kindling from the dead trees and then using friction; a task that wasn't as easy as people made it seem.
"You ever wonder what things are like back home, Ace?" he asked, directing his question towards the Falcon. Of course the bird didn't understand the question, but it happily chirped back anyway. This caused Zane to chuckle a little bit. "Yeah, me too" he said.

He stood up, making sure to pick up the huge buster sword that lay next to the fire as he did so. "Maybe we should go take a look" he said, holding out his arm to the right, horizontally. Ace quickly flapped his wings and flew to land on Zane's shoulder, being careful not to grip with his talons too hard.

Sasha quietly stood at the back of the room listening to the speech that Caleb was giving. She agreed with everything he said and cheered with the crowds but something didn't sit right in her mind. Not every one who worked for Vex did it for the money, there was one girl that did it herself. She offered. Sasha was still a mere servant girl in the courts when a young 16 year old girl came to Vex, in exchange for shelter she would do whatever he wanted. At such a young age she was trained to be an assassin. The girl remained with Vex out of loyalty not for the money, and she could be considered one of their biggest threats.
Sasha walked past Caleb and placed a hand on his shoulder as she passed giving him a small smile. She then made her way to the podium having something of her own to say. Unlike Caleb it wasn't something overly inspirational, just a caution, a reminder when going into this fight against Vex. She tucked her hair behind her ears before speaking. "We are going into the battle ahead with strong hearts and strong wills. We will do whatever it takes to seize the throne and restore peace...." She paused for a second trying to think how to word what she was going to say before continuing. "... But brothers and sisters I must warn you many of those who you face, they will have families. Many are doing what they have to in order to survive, or feed young ones they have at home. Casualties are unavoidable but we shouldn't go out looking for them. We do what we must to dethrone Vex but don't let that lead you to senseless killing within the courts." Sasha looked down as she thought of her former friends and family. "Not everyone was fortunate enough to escape if they didn't want to be there." She said quietly before stepping down from the podium. A small caution for the sake of her friends and family that remained in the royal courts was all that she had to do.
Stepping off the stage Sasha turned her back to the crowd and headed to the kitchen to start on a meal for them to share as soon as the meeting was over. She could hear what was going on through the doors or the kitchen but felt like there probably wouldn't be much more to come. She went to the fridge and started to sort through what little food was in it, she would need to get more soon, but going into town was dangerous, Vex always had people on the streets executing the weak and hunting for resistance members. Never the less these kids needed to eat. Sasha quickly wrote a short note and left it on the table just to say she was going to get supplies and dinner would be slightly late. She then grabbed a hooded cloak and headed into town. She used the cloak to cover her face as she walked into town. It might not be safe but what could she do they needed food. At least it was safer here then it would be right by the castle. They moved their base to a town farther away but that didn't mean that she needed to take any less caution, soon they would start expanding their search area and find this town.

Xera was prowling the streets of Corvus. She didn't see it necessary to go to the meeting that Vex had called. She already knew her job, it had not changed in the two years she had worked for Vex. Kill the weaklings and track down the Resistance. But it was clear the Resistance base wasn't in town. They would rarely show their faces around this town which wasn't surprising. With someone like her on the streets it would be dangerous. It was time they widened their search parameter.

Xera having already taken out a few of the weak that day, some of the sick or homeless decided to head back to the castle. The targets in this town where easy but the numbers started to dwindle, she had to save some fun for the others. Not like they where enough of a challenge to classify as fun though. They where actually really quite easy. Usually one throwing knife would do the job and it allowed her to remain in the shadows. With the two years she had been doing that she still didn't think many people knew the identity of the one who had killed so many. This was her calling, this is what she really excelled at. Before she was just a nobody with no purpose and nothing to look forward to in life and now look at her, working for the king. She was doing what was best for the kingdom and eliminating the weak. Making the kingdom the strongest it could be.
On her way back Xera picked up one of her knives out of a dead body and licked the blood off of it. She didn't know what it was about the taste of blood but she really didn't mind it. She kinda liked it actually. She smirked and tucked the knife away before entering the castle. She walked straight to Vex's throne room and didn't even bother knocking before entering."I killed five more and still no sign of the Resistance. With your permission I would like to widen my search and go out past this town into others."She said kneeling at his feet. Her voice was cold and void of all emotion as she talked, all it was was a simple report. There really wasn't any emotion connected to it. Although most of the time she would come off as cold and emotionless, that was just her.

Quinn sat in the back listening to the speech given by Caleb. It was quite motivational. Quinn loved to see the resistance members so pumped up. He loved to see it, but not cause it. Next up on the podium was Sasha, warning that not all motives were selfish. Leaning back against the wall, the words said that day repeated through his mind over again. Caleb really was inspiring. Just hearing the speech made him ready for battle already. A slight glance to the right caught the image of Sasha walking out the door, hooded and disguised. 'What's that about?' He wondered. Deciding to leave before he was expected to make a speech, he entered the kitchen to find the note she had left. Supplies. Yes they were running low, but alone? He couldn't have that.

Grabbing his own cloak along with his spear, he set out after her. It wasn't long before he caught up. His stride was quite a bit faster than that of the average person thanks to his magic. He concealed his spear underneath the cloak just before he came into the sight of any people to avoid suspicion, the prince approached her. "Need some help?" He asked calmly.

Elsewhere in corvus, rain poured heavily down from the sky. The streets were all but empty in this part of town. A lone figure slowly stepped down through the road. His solid black boots making a splash as they entered a puddle of water. Rain fell off the black leather coat he wore, along with his hat. His face was nearly entirely cloaked in darkness. The caw of a raven echoed down the area, guiding the hangman on his way. The most unusual thing about this man was the long rope he drug behind him, the end tied in a noose. If you had ever heard the story of this man, you'd be wise to clear the streets as well.

Bryan leaned against the wall in the back of the room and listened to Caleb and Sasha's speeches. They were quite the speakers. He hasn't been in the resistance for longer the a month, and for the most part they all have been making him feel welcome despite his family. He looked around the room at the others. He wondered if any of them had any sort of combat training. He himself was trained most of his life. His family was sworn to protect whoever was the king.
After everyone was done speaking he went back to his room. He grabbed his pistols and sniper rife. He went outside of the base. He was getting a little stir crazy, he had to get out.

Mitch stood quite and at attention as Vex gave his speak. He didn't like this army he had gathered. He didn't trust any of them. They were mostly here for money, no loyalty. Except for Xera, but she always rubbed him the wrong way. While he himself didn't approve of Vex's plans, it wasn't his place to question orders.
Xera came in and kneeled before Vex and asked permission to leave the town to search for the resistance base. "My lord with your blessing I would like to accompany her. If she does find the base, she will need back up." Mitch said as he bowed down.

It was one of those days where poor Fae lost track of time.

She looked up into the sky, sighing out as she frowned and shaded her eyes from the semi-bright sun. "Way to go, dork," she commented to herself. "You missed the meeting." The young girl continued to look up into the sky, watching as dark clouds seem to begin to roll in over the town. The smell of rain was faint in the air and she felt little splatters of water droplets on her face. The girl knew this wasn't coming from her though, she wasn't sad or crying after all. Humming to herself, she pulled her cloak more around her and looked down to her satchel. She still had a long way to go collecting herbs, mushrooms, and berries. She didn't dare to show her face in town like the others. If she did, who knew what would happen.

Fae sighed out and then pulled the hood over her head to shield herself from the little splatters of water droplets. She then crouched by a blue berry bush with the help of her staff and began to pick the ripe berries off of them. "Tip toe, through the tulips, hmm, hm, hm, hm, hmmm," she sung softly to herself, listening to the wind rustle through the trees.

Fae was a good ways from the main base within the wild forest. She had taken this trip many times and thus learned how to handle herself. She sat on her heels as she crouched, taking a look around the forest once more. It was always so quiet and peaceful around here... It was as if there was no war going. Oh if only that was the case.

Iris watched the mysterious cloaked man walk away as he dragged a rope behind him. She had heard things about him, lots of things. She knew they called him the Hangman and it fit him too. She stood up and carefully followed him, keeping her distance. She had a black umbrella keeping her dry (well, sort of) and she casually walked behind the mysterious man. She knew that she was probably putting herself in danger, but she was able to take care of herself. Besides, she also had a pet to fight for her too.

Ishimura walked behind Iris growling as the rain kept hitting him. He eyed the Hangman as if he were his prey. His large paws heavily stepped in puddles as he walked. He didn't know why iris wanted to follow this guy or what she intended to do, all he knew is that if the man tried anything funny, he would rip him to pieces.

Behind Sasha followed another hooded figure, quietly creeping behind the older girl as she went to gather supplies. As she was about to sneak up on her, she heard Quinn go up to her. "Need some help?" he asked.

Of course, Cammy could never just follow Sasha in peace, there were always the older members getting in her way. She sighed and rolled her eyes. When would she get time alone with Sasha, who had basically treated her as a younger sister all her life with the Resistance? She had been the one to nurse the young girl back to health after she had awoken with amnesia. There was likely more, but that was as far back as Cammy could go.

Even then, it was clearly time to go home. Cammy had wanted to discuss things with Sasha, but now that Quinn was there it would be impossible to talk about girl things. Looking back though, they had come a long way, and Cammy wasn't necessarily the quietest or stealthiest of them. Sigh, looks like she'd have to deal with it now. She sprinted ahead quickly and caught up to them.

Suddenly, her mannerful side awoke as it did around older people.

"Pardon me Sasha, but would I be able to come along with you?" She asked with her hands folded.

Caleb was impressed with what Sasha had said. He wasn't used to other members of the Resistance delivering speeches, but he was grateful that he wasn't the only one trying to motivate the rest of them. He got up from his seat and turned to the side. A moderate distance away, on the other side of the room, was a table. Not a very large table, but it was large enough that it could seat about five people. This table was the table that most of the plans were discussed and made, this was where the magic happened. Caleb focused for a moment, willing his magic to activate. After a brief minute a small sphere of light appeared around his hands, and then gradually faded. Once it had faded completely, a large piece of parchment was in Caleb's hands. Caleb laid the parchment on the table, spread out so it was easy to see. He then took a seat at the table and began trying to think of the next step.

Vex's eyebrow twitched a little bit. "Widen your search? This entire time you've only been searching Corvus?!" be roared. "Yes widen your search! You should have been searching the entire country all this time, what do you think that they're just going to set up a base of operations in the heart of the country where they're most likely to be discovered? These people are weak but they're not completely stupid or we would've caught them by now, why would you-" he began. He then stopped himself as a thought entered his mind. Not one that made very much sense, but it was a suggestion nonetheless. A slight grin appeared on his scarred face, the smile of a lunatic. "You're not planning to betray me, are you two?" he asked in a tone that implied he already had suspicions regardless of their answers.

Zane had been walking through the wasteland until he came to the edge of a forest. Beyond the forest lied the town of Balmar, where the Resistance was stationed. Zane looked over at the bird that was on his shoulder. "Almost there" he said. He began walking in the forest, but was forced to speed up as Ace took off from his shoulder and began flying at a high speed. Zane gave chase, hurrying after the bird. Eventually, he came to a small clearing. In it, he saw a girl picking berries. Something that he personally didn't see often, but he knew it happened every now and then.

He walked over to the girl, being somewhat cautious as he did and moving as quietly as he could. He held his buster sword at the ready, who knew who the girl was? Vex was evil, and he had no morals, Zane had no doubt whatsoever that he would stoop so low as to force a girl to help him with his murderous ways. He held the sword ready but in such a way that it wasn't extremely intimidating. "Wrong season to be picking berries isn't it? You could get poisoned by those ones. They look ripe, but they're as deceitful as Vex himself" he warned as his way of greeting.

"I am loyal to the king. No one else. As long as you rule I am bound to follow your orders. I have always made that clear." Mitch replied in calm monotone voice. He didn't fear Vex and wasn't intimated at his little hissy fit. "As for most of your army, their loyalty lies with the highest price."

Bryan left the base pretty quickly. He wanted to be along for a while. It feels like anymore that's a luxury. That and he feels a little unless, he is one of the few non magic users. Although a straight up fist fight and a long range assassination is where he shines. That makes him feel a little bit better about his usefulness.
He walked through the forest and reminisced about some of the better times with his family. He could remember when his old man would drop him and his brother off in the forest for survival training. While that seems pretty harsh to drop off a eight year old and a fifth teen year old in the woods alone, it was good brotherly bonding time.

The base was out of sight but not that far behind her when Quinn caught up to Sasha. "Need some help?" Quinn asked Sasha. But instead of directly answering his question Sasha knelt at his feel. "Y-your Majesty. I didn't expect you to be gracing me with your presence." She said in a calm voice. She was startled yes but nothing too bad. She wondered why he bothered to follow her, especially since she was just a servant girl to him and the rest of the royal family, but she knew better then to ask questions. It was improper. Never the less she still wondered why the prince would accompany a servant girl on a shopping trip.

Before the young prince had time to reply a girl approached them, Cammila, of course. She was also offering help but Sasha didn't really want or need either of there help. But at least she could understand why Cammy was there. The young girl had formed an attachment to her since she had help the girl recover. The poor thing couldn't remember her life before the accident and Sasha almost didn't want to help her remember, she feared if she remembered the incident it would hurt her too much. She thought of everyone at in the resistance as her brothers and sisters but Cammy even more so because of the fact she thought of her as a sister too and really acted like it.

Sasha got to her feet again and turned to Quinn. "I know it isn't my place to ask, but could you take Cammy home? I can handle getting supplies by myself." She told both of them. She didn't need people to come along to protect her nor did she need anyone else to be put in danger. The streets of any town anywhere near the castle where becoming a dangerous place. There where people everywhere bribed by money to go find the resistance members. She was perfectly capable of handling her self out there and didn't need the help. It was better for them both to go home.

Xera lowered her head. "Yes sir." She said quietly. Yes others looked outside the city but she was still working on her skills, when she came to him two years previous she barely knew how to wield a sword or use a throwing knife. She stuck inside the city because she was close to the place she made refuge and was able to go back and practice if something went wrong. Now that she was more confident in her skills she felt like she could go else where. She just wanted to make sure it was okay with Vex, but who was she kidding, why would he care what she did? He allowed her to stay there for the sake of having a cold blooded killer at his call anytime he needed her.

Xera was about to leave when Vex continued talking. His next question to her back. Betray him? She was the most loyal one there. She did nothing for money, she did everything out of loyalty to him. "No your majesty. I would never betray you." In general the girl was seemingly emotionless but she was hurt by this comment. But she quickly regained her composer. "I don't know what I have done to make you doubt but I will work twice as hard to get it back and you will have the resistance leaders head on a stick if I have anything to say about it."

Putting her hood up Xera quickly ran out of the room and out of the castle. It was time for the real hunt to begin. The resistance group where outside the city but she couldn't imagine them being too far, they where still close enough to mess with the king. Knowing all the hired mercenaries would start off close Xera decided that she would make her way out, at least to a city a week away and start there. She would then work outwards to the south.

Around the back of the castle was a stable with a few horses, not many but enough, one of them was hers, it was well groomed and strong because she would go out to look after it everyday. The others where healthy and happy but the stable boy didn't do as good of a job at looking after them as she did. Xera mounted her horse and took off in the direction of the town she was headed. She would go a week straight by horse back to get there, that would mean she would probably get two or three week walk cities away. Xera brought minimal supplies, only what she really needed, her sword and her throwing knives. She would scavenge for any additional food she might need along the way. This was the first time she really went this far from the city. Before she went to Vex, she lived as an outcast with her father just outside the city. But her father was a coward and fled when Vex came to town. Who knew where he was now.

Quinn scratched the back of his head, unsure how to react. He hated this type of situation. 'Plus, she's not exactly being subtle...' "Please, Just treat me like you would anyone else." He pleaded. The formal treatment didn't sit well with him. If he had the option, he'd trade being the prince for being a commoner any day. He then addressed the matter of Cammy. He didn't really know her all that well, just that she was close to Sasha. A sigh came from the prince. "Well i kinda just needed an excuse to get out, but i guess so." To be honest, he hoped that Cammy would play the clingy little sister that didn't want to be apart from the older one. "If you're ready, then lets go." The words were soft, as though speaking to a child. His words and his thoughts contradicted. 'Come on, tell Sasha you want to stay.'

The rest of The Resistance were chattering quietly among themselves as Caleb stepped forth onto the stage. The crowd listened intently as their leader poured out his innermost thoughts. Vincent could be located in the very back of the room, next to the exit. Even though he was far from Caleb, he could still hear his speech because of his heightened sense of hearing. He looked among the rest of the resistance as they raised their fists in the air, letting out heartfelt cheers. They had found something worth fighting for, their freedom. He watched as Caleb descended the stage to the welcoming cheers of his allies. "That was rather good," thought Vincent as he reviewed the speech over again in his mind. His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a woman's voice as it rung out over the audience. Her speech wasn't like the last one, in fact, it sounded as though she spoke from her own experience. Vincent had never really thought about The Passing that way, but he knew that the majority of The Passing were greedy, ignorant savages whose blood-lust he couldn't stand.
As the speech ended, the crowd dispersed back into their regular training routines. Vincent approached the stage, he stood there, knowing that he could make a speech as riveting as the others did. But how could he when he was a worthless mute. He looked over at Caleb as he analyzed his document, he had seen Caleb a few times before, yet he had never seen his magic abilities till now.

Fae squeaked when the unsuspecting voice seemed to come out of no where and turned to face it. When she did, she could see an older boy there. She felt rather stupid, especially since her face was stuffed with blue berries. When she heard what she said about the blue berries being poisoned though, her eyes widened and she spit them out. "Oh my goodness! NO!" She continued to spit out the berries, trying to get them out of her mouth. "Am I going to die?! I like ate twenty of them already. MAYBE MORE THAN THAT! AH! I'M GOING TO DIE!" She began to roll around on the ground, obviously freaking out about the prospects of it. She then suddenly sat up, hyperventilating as she sat there with leaves and twigs from the ground sticking out of hair. "They can't be poisoned! I saw a bear eat them last week! And she's still fine!... Wait. What if a bear has a stomach like a dog. I don't have a stomach like that! AH! AND I FED THEM TO EVERYONE ELSE! NOOOOO!"

In her panic, Fae failed to notice that the stranger had a sword almost out and ready to strike. She took in deep breaths, trying to calm down. Was she really going to die from the blue berries of death? But they tasted so good.

Zane lowered his sword just a bit. The girl seemed harmless enough, and she didn't SEEM to have any malicious intent. Although, she was freaking out now, and she thought she was going to die. He felt a little bad for her, knowing full well that the berries weren't really poisoned; they had been a simple test. May as well have a little fun while it lasts he thought to himself. Zane dropped his buster sword on the ground and walked over to the berry bush. "I've always wondered what death tasted like" he said, making sure it was loud enough that Fae heard. He picked a few off and swallowed them quickly.

Instantly he placed his right hand over his heart, and his left hand over his stomach. "****!" he swore. "Those were the poisoned berries!" he exclaimed. He pretended to double over in pain, making his face look like he was in pain as much as possible. He cursed again and let himself fall onto his back, laying flat on the ground in the dirt. His eyes widened and he pointed a shaky finger at Fae. "Stranger....stranger..come close..I don't have much time" he said with a raspy voice.

"There's something..you must know...a message that you must..pass on" he said. He coughed a few times dramatically, but tried to make it look as real as possible. "The..the berries..the berries! They..." he began to start. He let his hand fall to his side with a quiet sound, and let his head tilt over towards the side, pretending to be dead. He waited a few minutes, waited to hear the reaction. Then he turned his head back to look at the girl. "The berries taste absolutely fantastic, no poison in them at all" he said to her. He laid on the ground there for a moment, laughing until he was out of breath. He then stood up and held out his hand. "Sorry for tricking you, but I had to be sure. My name's Zane, and you are?" he asked.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" the girl exclaimed, putting a hand over her mouth as she watched the boy take a berry in his mouth in horror. "YOU JUST TOLD ME THEY WERE-" And then suddenly, the fits of death had begun. Fae didn't know what to do but just stared and gawked at the boy as he sealed his fate. "EEEEEEEP!" She quickly crawled over to the boy when he landed on the ground and began to cough in agony. "Don't worry! I'll save you! Um, um, clear your mind... GAH!" But she was too panicked to summon the water, and it seemed to not be willing to come. But why? Then she heard the boy exclaimed how delicious they were and he began to... laugh?

Fae just blinked her eyes, staring at the boy as an imaginary question mark popped up over her head. "... Huh...?" She sat there, dumbfounded by what was happening now. Then it suddenly hit her when he said it. She had been tricked. HA! Fae frowned, sticking her nose in one direction and not taking Zane's hand at all. "What a mean trick! You could've been dying, and I would have been flipping my lid trying to remember my cure spell." She then stood up from the ground, brushing the dirt off her cloak. "Then again, I guess no one can really trust anyone these days," she said with a sigh, looking at Zane. Reluctantly, she shook his hand. "Fae," she said with a small smile and then let go of his hand. "I'm looking for berries and herbs." She bent over and picked up her staff, leaning her weight against it. "What brings you to these parts of the woods Zane?"

Fall watched with dull and almost lifeless eyes as Vex shouted angrily at Xera. She quietly stood next to him as she only waited for a command, like always. She stood motionless like a statue and when Vex questioned Xera about betraying him, her eyes turned to Xera. Once Xera left the room she turned to Vex and spoke in an almost monotone, but gentle voice, "Is there anything you wish for me to do, Master...?" She said as she watched Xera run off.

Bryan was staring down his scope aimed at a huge buck. His mouth was already watering at the prime venison he'd get off it. But then a soft yell in the distance spooked it off. "Damnnit!" Bryan yelled. He probably could have made the shot while it was running, but he didn't want to shoot unless he was absolutely sure he could make the shot. 'Well might as well see what scared off my dinner for like a week.' he thought to himself.
It wasn't too long until he could see Fae and Zane. He silently climbed a tree to get a better view of what was going on. He stared down his scope to see what was up. He recognized Fae from base, although he wasn't sure what her name was. He knew it started with a F. But he really isn't good with names, nor does he care. He's an ass like that. But Zane he didn't know. He focused in on their lips to see what they were saying. Something about poisoned berries, but berries weren't poison. But it turned out to be a big joke on her. 'Fantastic, I missed out on some venison because of a stupid prank. It had better been hilarious.'
Bryan hopped out the tree, making a lot of noise when he got to the ground. He didn't care. He went on about his way, hoping to pick up the deer's trail.

Mitch raised an eyebrow at Fall when she spoke. 'Was she always here?' he thought to himself. Fall was probably the most unsettling of all the passing. And given who's in it that's something. "Orders?" Mitch asked as well.

Vincent exited the room and was soon outside to the sounds of the others practicing their shooting by aiming at small targets from afar. "I guess I should do some practice of my own," he thought to himself as he walked away from the crowd. He soon reached a spot that was far from the others. He stood upon a small ledge that looked down over the forest. He glanced to people who entered the forest soon after the last. A young girl, soon followed by a man with a falcon, and then a man with a sniper rifle. Vincent recognized two out of three, but the man with the falcon was somewhat mysterious, yet somehow familiar. "Are they having a party or something, and they didn't invite me? Well again who would, everyone here thinks I'm a freak.. " Vincent thought to himself as he looked to the forest. It wasn't that he actually thought there was a party, he had never seen so much as one person enter the forest a day. He discarded the fact and looked at the already beaten target he had practiced on many times before. He was suddenly interrupted by a scream, although far away, Vincent could hear shockingly well. He looked to the forest yet again, "Must be one heck of a party," Vincent thought to himself as he looked to his small target and began to practice.

Marlene had just finished attending the meeting as she rose from her seat among the others. "What a speech!" she thought to herself as she picked up her quiver full of arrows and slung it over her shoulder. She then picked up her long wooden bow. "Then again, that women's speech was rather riveting as well. What was her name again, Sasha i think." Either way, Marlene felt motivated by the two speeches as she was sure the others did. He attention turned to their leader as he sprawled a piece of parchment paper over the table. She did have a question for him, and she thought it would be as good a time as ever to ask. It did look as though he was making plans for the attack he spoke of. She waited till the crowd filtered out and slowly approached him as he sat at the table. "Excuse me, Sir Caleb, might I trouble you with a quick question?" Marlene asked as she stood across the table from him.

The hangman seemingly ignored the woman following him, just continuing along his path. He eerily weighed from one side to another. In truth, he wasn't ignoring her so much as he didn't know she was there. He had nearly no perception of the area around him. With his sight missing and his other senses dulled, it made it rather difficult to have one. That is, without the raven at least. The feathered creature landed on his shoulder and cawed quietly. Seemingly understanding what it was saying, Tristan Rains stopped in his tracks. There was a moment or two where nothing happened, until the figure dressed in black began to turn. Now facing Iris, his sight into the past took effect. He lived for nothing more than to punish acts he deemed as crimes. What he found in her past, plenty of them. He held up his noose toward her, and spoke in a voice that no one would believe was human. Deep and raspy, almost distorted. "You knew the day was coming..." Lowering the noose and manipulating the rope into the resemblance of a whip, he walked toward her.

Vex thought for a moment. He rested his head on his right hand for a moment, as though he was having difficulty thinking. "Orders..orders...I've been giving out the same orders for a long time now. Kill the resistance, crush anyone that is against me, etc etc" Vex said. He was getting tired, having to talk to everyone so much lately. He was not much of a people person, in fact most of the time when people talked to him too much he 'took care' of them. But he couldn't do that to The Passing, not while he still needed them.

Caleb hadn't made a lot of progress. He had borrowed a pencil from one of the Resistance members, and he was trying to plan their next course of action. Of course it was impossible to plan for every scenario, there were simply too many variables, but he couldn't stick with just one in case something happened. He had the plans laid out in front of him so that nothing was hidden from the other Resistance members. So far he had two strategies that could be seen, one small raid on the town of Sharox, the town next to Balmar and well known for supplying Vex with weapons, or marching straight to Corvus and confronting Vex. He would have to make the final decision, he knew, but were they ready for Vex? That he didn't know.

His attention was brought back to the hall and the people around it as a girl approached him. What was her name again? Marlena was it? No, Marlene? Probably. She asked him if she could ask him a question. He mentally sighed, he had hoped that people would feel like they didn't need to ask him for permission to do things, he trusted each of them. He nodded his head, however, and responded. "No trouble at all, what's on your mind?" he asked.

Zane gave Fae a bit of an odd look, one that made it seem like what she had said didn't make sense. "Couldn't you have found someone in town to get those from?" he questioned. He moved past the question, realizing how judgmental he had sounded asking it. "I was on my way to the Resistance when my friend sort of took off on me. He's a Falcon, about thiiiis big" he said, spreading his arms apart to show Ace's size. "Always looking for some food and exploring things too, you seen him?" he asked. He was interrupted by a loud noise, as though someone had fallen from somewhere nearby. Ignoring the sound, he continued to explain his search for Ace.

"Always looking for food.." he said quietly. An idea formed in his mind. He reached over and grabbed one of the berries again. He then stepped back and tossed it into the sky. Immediately the berry was plucked out of the sky by Ace, who swallowed it quickly and then flew down to land on Zane's shoulder. Zane laughed a little bit. "Welcome back Ace, meet Fae" he said to the bird. Ace tilted his head on an angle as though he was somewhat confused.
