In our school only Juniors can be in AP classes, so Pre-AP is for Sophomores that are planning to be in AP classes as Juniors.

Good luck man, I took Pre-AP World History and Pre-AP English II as a sophomore. And no, in my school, they don't give you honors credit for it, just shows you're taking harder classes.

Yeah, I do have a lot of homework, but it is somewhat managable. The only real class that is scaring me is AP Chemistry, but that's because it involves alot of math and critical thinking...

AP is Advanced Placement. High schools offer AP classes, it's supposed to gear you for the exam in May, where if you pass, you get college credit towards whichever college you apply and get accepted to. It also lessens the amount of bull**** classes you have to be taking in college.

So they're like honor classes? Cause that's what you're supposed to take before AP classes, at my school.

It stands for Advanced Placement, you study more indepthly and at the end of the year you take a $80 test to try and get college credit.

    So...its an honors class.

    So...its an honors class.[/QUOTE]

Errrrr...No. They're way more advanced than Honors. There are three different class rankings you can take as a Sophomore, but only for History and English. The three rankings are Standard, Honors, and Pre-AP.

Pre-AP here is just above regular class, but honors is the best class.

You are so lucky. I tried to get into art class for at least one trimester this year, and there were absolutely NO open spaces (so said the counselor...).

Wow many of you have so many lessons in one day. 8 a day.....that is too many, and pointless, classes must be so short you get barely anything done. =/

The school I went to only had 3 lessons a day, each being 1:40, they took a while to get used to, but having less lessons made the day seem shorter and more spread out. It was like -

    Registration
    1st Period
    Break
    2nd Period
    Lunch
    3rd Period

Well i don't have a schedule anymore since i don't have school, but my old school was something like.

    Registration - 10 mins
    1st Period - 55 mins
    2nd Period - 55 mins
    Break - 15 mins
    3rd Period - 55 mins
    4th Period - 50 mins
    Lunch - 55 mins
    5th - 50 mins
    6th - 55 mins

or something like that. I think it's changed now.

In our school we have 18 periods a day each lasting 20 minutes. Classes can be anywhere from 2 to 5 periods (4 and 5 period classes are 6th year only). Also, we get 20 minutes for break which doesn't appear on our printed timetable and 2 of the 18 periods for lunch.
Another benefit of 6th year is the free periods you get :P
