The Story​

This is Wildland – a world comprised of war-like clans. Each has a representative animal, said to be the original ancestors of each clan’s people. The clans reside on different islands; wars in the past have separated many and created rivalries. In the past, the Reptile clans united and attacked the others to try and dominate the lands. This caused many clans to band together to defeat the Reptiles. After successfully defeating the attacking clans, the islands were divided up among the clans based on their animal. The Reptile clans, condemned for their attempts to take over all of Wildland, were banished to the largest island – the Southern Island, renamed Reptilia. While large, it is mostly harsh jungle, with little room for living space.
The remaining clans separated themselves on the following islands: Aves (West – avians) , Aquaeus (Northwest – marine animals), Cenozoa Minor (Northeast – small mammals), and Cenozoa Major (East – large mammals). Collectively, they formed the North Islands. As the ages passed, contact with the Reptiles ceased, and communication with neighboring islands started. Bridges were built across each of the North Islands, but only one bridge to each island, in the event that one island would wage war against another. The inhabitants of the North Islands agreed that there would be no bridges built to the South Island, and any island found doing so would automatically be suspect to treason and attacked.
But even on the North Islands, consolidated leadership is rare, and rather than unite each island under one leader, they have continued with the traditional individual clan leaders.

You are a member of one of the clans – fairly young and inexperienced, but you’ve heard the legends. You know who the Reptiles are and what they represent. You believe that should an uprising come again, you and your brothers and sisters will stand together as warriors and repel the “Lizards” as your ancestors did. After all, you were trained in combat since you were eight, and considered a true warrior when you turned sixteen.
Little do you know that the Reptiles are planning a second war – this time far more disastrous than the last. The Reptile clans, unlike the North Islands clans, have been united under one powerful leader. A leader that is determined to make the North Islands pay for the shame they caused the Reptiles centuries ago.
Rumors are springing up here and there that the Reptile clans are getting active, but many pass it off as false rumors. However, in recent days, you’ve felt an odd power in you rising. It builds up over the course of a month, and then, on the last day of the year, which would become known as The Last Day of Peace, a change occurs. It is a moonless night, and in your home, you find yourself changing forms – from human to beast.

The next morning, you awake on the floor, with no recollection of what occurred the night before. When you step outside a terrifying sight greets you. Your village is half destroyed, and warriors bearing the armor of Reptiles lay dead on the ground. The villagers – the ones who are alive – catch sight of you and seem afraid. Upon asking why, the clan leader comes forward, and explains that the previous night Reptile warriors landed in the North Islands. Death for the villagers seemed certain, but a massive animal appeared and slew them, but in the process, destroyed part of the village because of its size. Once the Reptiles were dead, the animal transformed back into a human. More specifically, you.
The leader tells you that you are far too dangerous to remain in the village. So you leave.
But you are also told that you are a powerful legend – a shapeshifter.

The Rules​

1. No godmodding or powerplaying.
2. Do not argue with me on things in the RP.
3. There is only one of each clan; therefore there is only one of an animal.
4. Animals must be real, though I may make exceptions if you PM me.
5. Limit of two characters so far, but if you have two one must be from the Reptile clans.
6. Weapon size and strength must be relative to your animal; you cannot double up on weapons (ex. You can’t have two katana, but you can have a katana and a knife).
7. Alternately, your character can have a weapon and shield.
8. Character’s age is AT LEAST sixteen.
9. Only characters of Reptile clans can have primarily black or dark clothing/armor/etc. All other characters must have minimum black/dark coloring.
10. Put “Going Ghost” somewhere in your first post.
11. Keep everything within the rules of the site and this section.
12. Ask for permission if you wish to kill off another character.
13. Do your best to use understandable grammar.
14. Posts must be at least three lines long.
15. Normal characters' font color is to be the default color; Reptile font is to be black.
16. I will add more rules if necessary.

Bio: A member of the Wolf Clan, Akane grew up in a world of fighting. She is quick to react and has a sharp mind, but is wary of others from outside of her clan. Akane was considered gifted as a warrior, and by the age of eighteen, two years after she was considered a true warrior, was a respected member of the clan. After her shapeshifting occurred, however, the clan members feared her tactical ability and were forced to make the decision to make her an outcast. She currently lives on the southwest shores of the Cenozoa Major island.

Bio: A mysterious – but ruthlessly violent – man, Harland was found by a Reptile clan as an infant. The clan passed on the stories of the Reptiles’ defeat, and since then Harland has carried the bitterness from the Reptile clans’ loss to the North Islands all throughout his life. He has since plotted his revenge, and after discovering that he was a shapeshifter, he used intimidation and brute strength to once again unite the Reptile clans. No one is certain what his clan animal is, but rumors say that it is a beast more legendary than the fact that he is a living legend himself.

Bio: A member of the Lion Clan. He was raised to fight from the age of 8 with the rest of his clan but soon became noticeable as a decent tactician and hunter for his age. Although he had great skills he lacked motivation but was not completely idle. He needed others to motivate him as he would end up sleeping anywhere if he lost interest or simply began daydreaming. After the shape shifting he left on his own before his clan rejected him as he felt they would. He began wandering the wilderness with no aim as he had nothing to motivate him.

Bio: He is from the Dolphin clan that does most of the fishing and trading between the Islands (But Reptilia ofcouse). On The Last Day of Peace, he was late night fishing for his family when the changes occur and while the Reptiles attacked the Clan by land and sea. He woke up find the sea red with the boats wrecked, and bodies floating. He saw blood on himself and so he washed off in the redend sea. The Chief told him what he did and what he must do. So he grabbed some cloths, his family gave him there family's Trident and Shield, and he lefted the Clan.

Bio: Chance was a well liked member of her clan, as she was sweet natured and always looked out for others but she was often overlooked during training as she was small and she was often got ignored for stronger members. She was horrified when she discovered he village destroyed and left quickly, scared of hurting those she loved. She doesn't know what to do and believes she is a monster.

Bio: Passive, witty, cunning, selfish, extortionist a-la-max. These words describe Artix Badlands to a point. He had always been a black sheep to his clans, often because his personality didn't correspond to his tribe's animal, the Lynx. All his life, he had heard lectures such as "Like the great cat, you must be noble, proud, swift and terrible!", but Artix couldn't care less. So, as you can guess, it wasn't much of a hard decision to make when he was cast out of the village since they were all looking for an excuse to kick him out anyway. He spends most of his time in the snowy mountains of Cenozoa Major.

We'll start the story after two days have passed since the initial transformation.

Akane sat at the sea's edge. Two days had gone by since she was forced from her home, but in that time she had built a small shelter near the water, and had a small supply of food.
Staring out across the water, she could see the dark treetops of Reptilia on the horizon. "I doubt the attack on my village was the only one...the damn lizards probably staged attacks on all the other islands as well."
Sighing, Akane stood up, deciding it was time to rest before exploring her new home. "I wonder if there are others like me," she wondered aloud.

 

Kraven headed through the wilderness. On his mind is that he could see the island of his attackers from the sea and he wanted to grasp an idea of where the beasts are coming from. He wasn't too far from the coastline as he had been walking this way for two days. Within those two days he had not eaten but he had drank the rain from the sky with his head tilted back, something he expected not to work to well but luckily he encountered a heavy down poor. It was so heavy that his hair and clothes where still wet even though it occurred over twenty four hours ago.

 

Chance walked slowly down a path, her arms were painted with scratches. She had found a little shelter and food but she was forcing herself to live rough. She felt didn't deserve the luxuries, she was a monster. She thought she deserved to be hurt, she thought she deserved to be punished. If the lizards came over she would willingly fight them alone, she wouldn't let anyone else get hurt.

 

Jordan was down the coastline where he has been for a couple of days. He had barely any fresh water left, and his food was almost gone. So now he was hunting in the shallow water of the ocean, using his trident to catch try fish, but it wasn't working at for him. "Damn fish!!" Jordan yelled as he missed yet another fish. "I knew I should have went with dad to learn spear fishing last year!!!!!" he cursed to himself as he headed back to shore to take a break. He stabbed his Trident into the sand then laid back on to the hot sand and looked up into the clouds. 'Why me? Of all the people in the Clan why me?' he has been asking himself this question eversince that day. Then his stomach growled, he laughed alittle "Back to fishing....." he got up and went back to the water.

 

Akane wandered aimlessly on the coastline. There was a small patch of palm trees nearby, and if the Reptile clans really were attacking, she considered going to their land to strike. She knew she could probably build a boat small enough to cross on, but it would take time if it was just her building. Sighing slightly, she knew there was only one way to get the trees down - transform into the wolf. Focusing, she willed herself to transform, but to no avail. Swearing, she tried to figure out another way to fall the trees.

In the heart of Reptilia, Harland spoke to several of his newly appointed generals. The ones that had been in charge of the attack on the Northern Islands had been "fired", and these new men replaced them.
"Any news, lads?" Harland asked. He had instructed that each clan build a warship with enough capacity to hold all warriors in the clan for the major assault on the Northern Islands.
One man stepped forward. "Yes, sir. Several clans have reported in; they are a quarter way through of construction. All weapons and armament are in order, ready to be stored on board as soon as the ships are ready."
Harland gave out dark laugh. "Excellent," he said, "Simply excellent."

 

Seeing the coastline draw ever closer, Kraven finally found his focal point of the lizards island. Watching the island for a moment he was soon draw to a sound. The sound of the wind hitting a makeshift shelter. Curiously, Kraven made his way over to it and peered inside, finding no one but seeing a stack of food. Someone has been here, seems recent, he thought as he started to looking towards the two ends of the coastline to see if the shelters owner was nearby. Constantly switching his gaze from left to right he eventually spotted some palm trees not too far away where he thought he saw someone.

 

Knowing that it wouldn't work, but trying anyway, Akane unsheathed her katana. She swung at the smallest palm tree. The blade cut in an inch and a half, then stopped. Growling in frustration, she tried tugging her sword out, but it would not budge. Swearing, Akane sat down in frustration. Several minutes went by and she decided to get more food.
Akane got up and faced the tree, and drove her metal claws into the tree. She used this method to climb up the palm, and once she reached the top, she swung a claw at the coconuts, effectively dropping three to the ground. Akane then dislodged her claws and dropped to the ground, landing in a crouch.

 

Kraven had walked over to Akane as she climbed the tree. When she landed he was almost stood next to her, "Hey", he said to her looking down at her crouched stance. Looking at the tree she climbed he spotted the claw marks from how she grappled it as well as a cut, "So your trying to cut it down using a sword?" he asked also noticing her weapons. Putting his hand behind him he reached to one of his weapons attached to his belt, "Here, you can borrow my axe. It should do better at chopping wood than a sword since it was mostly made for this", he stated holding out the axe handle to her.

 

Chance jumped over some rocks, she didn't really have any idea of where she was heading but she figured she may as well explore the area she was in now. She clambered up a pile of rocks and smiled slightly as she reached the bush at the top. She picked a berry of it and examined it, figuring out if she recognised it and if it was safe to eat. After a bit she decided she did recognise it and ploped the glossy purple clot into her mouth. She smiled as she tasted sweet flesh, leaving stains on her tongue.
