Should I be disturbed?

My mom came home the other day with a black bag. She told me not to look in, but I didn't listen and looked anyway.
In the bag was Death Note volumes 1-4 DVDs. At first I was like: "Aws, you got me...Death Note...? How'd you even know about this?"
And she took the bag back and said it wasn't for me, and it was for her and she watched it on Adult Swim every Saturday (apparently, she watched the last episode too.)
I thought she was joking until she started explaining why she liked to watch it. [She doesn't like Anime...Usually, by the way.]
And now I'm very confused ;_;​

no... dont be... i think my dad likes it a bit... its good and all so there isnt any reason to be scared...

 

As long as she doesn't have any plans to kill off everybody, then it's okay. I mean, my mom likes Pokemon (the games).

 

wow....this is kinda strange but it IS called ADULT Swim so i guess there could be alot of adults that watch it

 

This made me laugh.
She said that the Shinigami is really ugly to her, so she tries to avoid staring at it, but she likes the... 'thrill' of watching Light contemplate homocide. XD

She keeps referring to him as "that big ugly thing behind Light." Hah. ​

 

If I mentioned my story, then I would say no, you shouldn't.

Hence, my mother is a serious otaku. Even more than what I am.
Ugh, comapre how many animes she's seen compared to mine, you will be shocked.
Me = 1,035 and counting, mother = 2,000+

But anyways, seeing how she just got interesting, you should be a bit worried.

 

Look on the bright side at least you've got something to talk to your mum about XD it's a good thing, I got half my school and neighboorhood into Bleach but thats nothing compared to a parent watching Death Note secretly XD

 

don't be because when your older you might still like anime.

 

Of course, most (or some) adults like a movie, book, etc. by their stories.
Death Note has a good story.
That might explain why.
Anime is the same with tv shows, or games.
And if anime is like other entertaining stuff,
Anime is very much entertaining.

Even if you're old like 30 years old, you will still be
29,28,27 and so on.
So your mother is an adult, your mother is still young at heart.

 

You should be half, seeing that another person (your parent) is fine. My dad likes to watch Death Note with me, whenever he gets to sleep over but it should be fine. Be afraid a little, and experience..:)

 

nah lol. My mom watches Death Note, Bleach, and loves Outlaw Star lol. She also plays Final Fantasy, TWEWY, and a few other games. you should be worried though if your mom does what mine did....and make herself a death note to sit on her dresser.

 

Of course I will...But she's my mom... o_o; I dont know, it's weird. Especially since her interest in it has just randomly bloomed. ​

Probably from that, she's never experienced in the anime stuff, a development of beginning to like it. It would be cool, having someone like what you like (anime), so now that I think about it, it wouldn't be a bother or distubring:)

I think Death Note just drew her in. XD All of my past Anime's she's cared nothing about. So...Yup, I guess it could be cool and not frightening. Hah. ​
