Well, i'm not american. I do love anime and manga and that's what made me interested in the japanese culture. I know things about their history and i try to know more. To be honest, i believe that i know more than most of the people that posted here. Anime and manga had a positive affect on me. I really like their culture not only because of anime and manga. I just do. But i don't try to be like them. I don't even know what ramen is. I know some japanese words, mostly because of anime and i want to learn japanese because it seems to be an interesting language. It depends on how you will accept anime and manga. You can learn things from their history by reading manga.

Though i agree with you i have to say that you're quite wrong. Anime and manga are important to these people. Their school books are in manga form and don't forget about the famous to all of us "Cosplay". People there are more addicted than americans or anyone else. You can say that cosplay is like halloween. I know that Japan is more than comics and cartoons but this is what this country is famous for.

You're exactly the type of people who don't realize how offensive you are to the Japanese.

    Especially with sentences like that.

Honestly I couldn't give a flying rat's a$$ what the 'wapanese' do - if they want to look like a fool, then let them live being a fool. Just as long as they keep it to themselves, I couldn't give.

The only part I could complain about is the fanJapanese - because inevitably I'm forced to put up with it. And that I HATE - when I fall on an english site, I expect to READ in f*cking english, NOT japanese. And that's just bloody common sense!

YOU HEAR THAT PEOPLE?!?!?! STOP BLOODY WRITING IN JAPANESE!!!!!

Really? I was quite bored to type more things. And i meant this is what Japan is famous for to the most of the young people. As i said Japan, as every other culture which is known mostly for something, is more.

An Otaku is Japan is pretty much a nerd who is obssessed with anime/manga and believe that they don't need to have a gf or get married. But the word has been used outside of japan to be used for Americans who are obbssed with anime.

Wapanese, is well as you say. XD

I myself am obssesed with the Japanse culture. It highly interests me. Yes I really like anime and manga but that doesn't only draw me to the culture, that is only a small part. This is why i'm taking Japanese at University and move out there in 4-5 years time after the course is finished. I know what i'm getting myself in for (only 1% of the population are english/american)

The whole ramen thing is a spawn of Narutards.

Edit: Actually Aeon really Karaoke is the most popular thing to come out of Japan. XD

Don't really care. It's a culture I'm truly fasinated with, and a place I will live in after University.

    Have to say one thing.

Otakus and Japanophiles are not the same thing. Otakus is the more 'connotative' term for these ignorant Japanese-loving people. Japanophiles on the other hand, can be any of the following:

    * Scholars on the History of Japan
    * Students of the Japanese language
    * Scholars on the Sociology of Japan
    * Fans of a particular aspect of Japanese culture

I fall under at least two of those categories (Student of the Japanese language and fan of a particular aspect of Japanese culture), and qualify (albeit not a 'scholar' but educated somewhat) about the Sociology of Japan.

<.< And I must also say that writing in Japanese is my right. I don't ever recall this forum being called an English site, it's majorly English yes, but I don't ever recall KH-vids saying the site was supposed to be English.

That's what i'm talking about. Narutards? You mean Naruto fans? I've never watched this.

Indeed it is. But you forget Konami's "Dancing stage" things.

    Exactly my thoughts.

Thanks for making this clear. It is really helpful.

Unlike Gamespot where if you talk another language you will get modded. >_>

    Crappest rule in the world.

    Edit:

Aeon: yeah, Nartards are obssesed Naruto fans who think it's the best anime ever without ever seeing any other anime.

As for DDR. I think Karaoke is more popular. XD

I used to really like that site. But well I'm sick of it. Glitches everywhere and is slow as hell. It's a pain in the *** to post. I only visit one union and that is about it.

Well, if the content in the site is written in english, the navigation is in english, then what the hell do you expect lol?! Isn't it just common sense you'd have to write in english so we all understand each other? No really! Call me selfish, but I don't see why anyone would restrict those from not understanding them by typing in a dif' language. o_o;;; I just don't get it!

(If it's a username it's okay. I'm really talking about people writing their posts in japanese/adding fanJapanese words. >_>)

I have to admit I am like that .I speak little Japanese. But I have loved ramen ever since I was little (I called "big noodle soup" XD). I have always wanted to go to Japan and even plan on moving there for a little while when I grow up. I always have been interested in the Japanese culture. But opinions are like butts, everybody has them.

Well for the first part of what you said, so you're saying Japanese people, or non-english speaking people shouldn't be somehow compensated at Kh-vids? I'm sure DS and the staff want the site to be all ethnic inclusive if they want it to be the best KH video site ever. Some people struggle with English if they're not good at it, so I think it's not a *bad* idea for them to exercise a language they're better at if that's the only means they have to communicate. I'm not saying every non-english speaking person on this site should just not attempt to write in English (because it is majorly English I agree), but you shouldn't rob them of their right to post in another language in hopes of being understood.

As well, seeing as Final Mix+ and many other games that may not have seen an English release, having people capable of writing in Japanese and writing them in their posts helps to translate, communicate and decipher important information that other people may want. Earlier this week I posted Katakana translations of Sora's abilities in Final Mix+, and wrote it out in Katakana characters.

I don't think writing in Japanese is a bad thing if you feel it's necessary, because the only circumstance that I find it pointless is if someone who obviously doesn't understand Japanese is being written to in Japanese when they completely didn't ask to.

But otherwise, I don't think it should be something shunned or discouraged.

And would you like it if the Japanese liked how you guys are. Like how they like English and all? Would you be ok with that? Can't we all live in peace and love? *tear*

Hey hey hey let's not forget I'm talking about FANJAPANESE here! Let me hightlight = "Talking about FanJapanese!!!"

I am NOT talking about stuff that are for the benefit of this site or for the aid of others like you said, with translations. And for those who struggle with english, well I can give them credit: at least they make the effort to type in english and don't go parading in the forums typing in their mother tongue (at least not that I've noticed). (If you ask me, compensation for this is a little hard. I mean if one personally struggles with english THAT much I suggest finding a site in their first language to communicate better. (I mean what would you think of me replying to the (english) threads in french?) Well...I dunno. I never thought of this site as multi-language seeing as how there's no real indication for it)

So, my point? I'm only complaining about those who merely use japanese in terms to show off or whut! It's only when they unnecessarily use the language that it becomes a problem!

Okay at this rate I prolly sound like a whiny b*tch (yeah, aim your tomatoes this way -__-) so I'm wrapping up now. D:
