Snow Day? :c

Snow days, you children all wanting days off, so silly.

Ahhh! I want a snow day, how ridiculous! I just want a day that I can do exactly what I'm doing right now!

 

My Freshman year of college I was told that 'we(the school) closes when the hospital closes'. In other words, never. It was a technical school so classes were accelerated.

Yet when the administration changed at my college, we had snow days. So it depends on your school.

 

What is this snow you speak of?

 

My college cancels certain classes
but that's up to the teacher.
They've only closed once in the two years I've been here
and that was a major snow storm last year.
And they just canceled like the last two hours of the day ; ;

 

You guys are so lucky. I don't even know what snow is. -_-

 

Then how do you know that we're lucky?
IT COULD BE BAD.

Which in my case, it is.

 

Because you know something I don't. And really it's that bad?

 

me want snow!! :'( it only snowed ONCE in Louisiana (December of 2008) and at my middle school, we weren't even allowed to go out and see it yet the teachers went out and took twenty billion pictures of themselves in the snow... my life must suck...

 

Snow is frozen precipitation that falls in little crystals that have intricate designs. If it falls in copious amounts, it will coat any surface if the ground is cold enough. You can craft sculptures out of it. Though most go with the traditional snowman.

Snow isn't all snow angels and snowmen though. Snow can be a lot of work and a general pain in the behind. If it's wet and heavy enough, it can knock out your power. Any drives and sidewalks will also need to be cleared of snow which often results in a chore. The roads will then have to be plowed/salted/sanded.

Snow can also melt and then refreeze into ice. Which can be a walking hazard for the elderly, small children, and for those of us who don't know better.

Snow has it's good points and it's bad points. Some people love it and some people cannot stand it.

 

All our snow arrived in late November/December. I want more. ;__;

I'm so jealous, the only time there's EVER been a snow day here was the year it snowed so much the snow eventually was taller than all cars, if not higher. Also, the wind was so strong the snow was blown horizontally.

Though, that's what you get for living in Norway when 12 inches of snow is below normal :C
