Kingdom Hearts So what happened to Sora's parents?

well when the islands got destroyed, were did his parents go? was it traverse town, radiant garden, twilight town, or someplace like that

 

They just disappeared. They didn't go anywhere. Everybody (other than Sora, Riku, and Kairi) stayed with the island.

 

What I think is that Sora's parents died when he was really young. Someone--a friend of Sora's parents--probably took him to Destiny Islands for safe keeping. That might've happened to Riku's parents also. Maybe Ansem killed both their parents--knowing that they were going to be keyblade wielders and fight him in the ending. That's only what I think. I don't think I might be right, though...

 

Hmmm, his parents were engluped by the darkness and then probably forgot about Sora.

Well, assuming.

They'll be revealed in KHIV, when everything calms down, Sora finds out that his parents were put to sleep. And now needs to go on an adventure again where another protagonist gets kidnapped, save that protagonist, get a filler and find another bad guy, who turns out to be a good guy and then miraculously save his parents.

Basically I think Nomura concentrated a bit too much on the friendship point of view of things.

Pretty sure the entire series has almost nothing to do with family, and thus, there's no real reason to give them a backstory. They're probably on Destiny Islands, as Kairi went back there. Now, whether they even remembered having him for a son, is really bothering me. (since somebody mentioned Selphie didn't remember anything before the darkness came in, what would sora's parents remember? Would it be like they suddenly woke up and their son was gone? And Kairi didn't really remember Sora either, iirc, at the start of KH2.)

Nomura has long since said family is not important to KH, usually when asked about things like f Riku is Ansem's son, and such.
Of course, that can change, Nomura isn't infalliable, but as it stands, the family relations of KH are not important.

Ok now I'm starting to get real frustrated. First of all it's human logic for one to consider a friend as a family. Many people have done it, you might not and I can understand that. Second of all, this incorporate with Kingdom Hearts because look what all the crap Sora and Riku went through. Sora uses friends as his power but in my opinion I think at some point Sora actually considered these people as his family. I mean they helped him through tough times, supported him, hell his friends even saved him at multiple occasions so they might as well as be considered as a family to his heart.

 

Feeling someone is your family and actually being related are two different things
