So while I was gone, I finally watched some Doctor Who.

Ooh, I can't wait! Like I said, I like a character I can pity. XD

 

There's a reason I'm writing a fic, my friend.
It's because I truly cannot hold all these feels, and must write them down to share with the world. And by the world I mean mostly Cat because I'm pretty sure she's the only one who cares.

 

You're writing a Doctor Who fanfic? I'll definitely read it, but I want to finish out the remainder of the show, first. At least, everything they've got on Netflix. Is the show still running, or have they closed it up now?

Speaking of fanfiction, I'm thinking of writing one where Eleven accidentally gets Chameleon Arched into a Dalek and also somehow still has his memories and personality intact. Luckily, he has an old Mach III travel machine aboard the Tardis to help him get around. Once he's all wired up, he demands that Rory put a fez on him while lamenting that he can no longer operate the Tardis. All with a Dalek's voice. It's either glorious or the worst fanfic concept ever conceived. Thoughts?

 

Without having any clue who Chameleon is, or what a Mach III travel machine is, or what a fez has to do with anything, or generally what you're talking about at all, I must say I find it utterly brilliant! I know what a Dalek is, at least. XD

 

The Chameleon Arch is a device on the Tardis that allows the Doctor to become virtually any species in the universe. It also rewrites his memory so he can blend in. A travel machine is the thing Daleks use to get around because they don't exactly have legs. Mach III is the model number and the model that was used in the 1963 series. Fezzes are cool. Caught up?

 

That is bloody mad, man!

I love it. So much. Write it down right now.
Honestly, it's far better than the notion of a me from an alternate universe absorbing the soul of the TARDIS and travelling to the canon DW universe after paradoxes galore.

 

I wrote the opening scene to try and get a feel for how it would go the other day. Here you go.

"Ah! I'm blind! And why hasn't my personality changed? The Chameleon Arch is supposed to do that! And why is there a Dalek in here repeating everything I'm saying? Will somebody please extermi-wait. Noooooooooo!"

"Doctor, are you going to be all right?"

"What do you think, Amy? I'm a bloody Dalek! Now could you please take Rory and go to the clothes room? I kept a Dalek casing in there to study it a while back. And hurry! I don't think Daleks can survive outside their casings for very long."

*Later*

After several minutes of struggling to get the Doctor into his new home, the Doctor remarks, "Well, this is actually quite cozy. Let's see if I can do this right. EXTERMINATE! Yep, got it. Ooh, this is weird. Daleks are weird. Everything just looks so WEIRD from in here. And I can't do anything! I mean yes, I suppose I can move around and float, but it's so slow! And I can't operate the Tardis with this suction...arm...hand...thing. This just won't do! Rory, put my fez on me."

"But Doctor, won't it just-"

"Rory!"

"Okay! Okay. Just put the...shock...arm...thing down."

With some fine tuning, this could be bloody perfect!

 

Why thank you! I was a little worried that I didn't have Doctor Dalek's personality down very well, but I'm glad you think it turned out well.

My only problem is that I'm not very good at just continuing things past the premise. I can think up amazing concepts for awesome fanfics, but I never get around to more than the first chapter or so.

 

This is why I usually stick to oneshots.

 

I try to do that too, but sometimes I don't even manage to get a full story out of it, just the premise and some dialogue.

 

I could help you with that. I usually don't give up until I have at least a couple chapters done already.
