Something weird just happened...

First, I should tell you that my mom knows nothing of Kingdom Hearts. I don't know whether that is very relevent, but I thought it would help the story a bit, maybe.
My mom is at work at the moment. I heard my cell phone ring (with mah Shadow of the Day ringtone :D). It was my mom. This was our exact conversation.

Me: Hello?

My mom: Why is Roxas always so sad?

Me: What?

My mom: Why is Roxas always so sad?

Me: Uhh... where did this come from?

My mom: I was looking up Kingdom Hearts stuff because I am always so busy at work, and I know you're obsessed. (At this point, I laughed) Then I saw a bunch of pictures of Roxas and in every picture he always has a frown on his face. Why is he always so sad?

Me: Uh... it's a long story.

My mom: Okay, so who are the main characters of the story?

Me: Sora, Riku, and Kairi.

My mom: And Riku is the guy you like, right?

Me: Right.

My mom: Who are the girls in the story?

Me: Kairi and Namine.

My mom: Kairi and who?

Me: Namine. (Apparently, she can't comprehend the name "Namine", because she asked this over and over again xD)

My mom: Well, that's all I wanted to say.

Me: Okay.

Weird...

My mom tried to play Guitar Hero once. =|
And Okami and KHII.
Not a pretty sight, especially since she had no idea what was going on.

I quote, "Who's that girl in the black cloak?"
Me: "...That would be Xaldin...and he's a guy..."

But yes, it's always awkward when parents try to connect with us.
I tried explaining all my obsessions to my mom on several occasions. Each time it failed. So I've pretty much stopped trying. xD

 

hmmm like i said they are only trying to connect with all of you brush it off and if it happens again embrace it i guess

 

Haha, that conversation somehow reminds me of Lucky Star.
It's got that certain tone to it. Hilarious.

I remember having a conversation with my mother about it.
She said she'd try it out, but probably not for long since she's not an RPG type person.
( Let me let you know she lasted in MLG for about a year or so, then quit due to boredom.
Trust me, I wouldn't blame her. Playing Battlefield 2 everyday doesn't seem like the greatest thing in world. )

Actually, she played KH2 instead of KH1 because she would always watch me play, so yeah.
She's actually getting the hang of it, which I'm surprised by.
Hopefully, she's not all like "I SHOT YOU IN FACE. Oh wait ... I BEAT YOU WITH KEYBLADE."

She got the hang of it? My mom will never play a video game in a million years.

 

My parents hate all video games with a passion, and there's no way they would ever consider actually playing one. They're like "Are there many more levels left in that game?" and I'm like "There are no ****ing levels, this is FFX!" Grrr.

 

in her defense, shes really young, just turned 38 this year, and im 22(she was 15...I think I did my math right)

 

My mom's 35, and she would never play a video game. I dunno why...

Remember, this is an MLG recruit.
She's been playing video games ever since Pong, literally.

Hell, she's the one that begged me to bring over my PS3 the other day.
Another thing, she can kick my butt at Resistance. Which, might I add, sucks.

Because it just has that randomness feel to it. And I can imagine them never taking their eyes of the television and still talking, quite like Konata when talking with Kagami.

Wow. That's kind of a random question to ask about Roxas. It was so random it made me chuckle a bit. My mom is so annoyed with how I bring it up. She just nods and is like, "Uh-huh." "Yeah." She doesn't even know what I'm talking about half the time.

Parents, I swear. They are so stuck in the 80's.

 

There's something i forgot!

My mom: Who's the main character?

Me: Sora.

My mom: He always looks so happy. Why is he so happy?

Me: *long pause* Because... he's an idiot.

My mom: That's not very nice.

I know! I answered the phone and she didn't even say, "Hello!" She just said, "Why is Roxas so sad?" Just out of the blue. 0_o

Oh noes! Poor Sora... :( Not very nice indeed.

Seriously, if my mom ever called about that...I'd be like, "Mom...you feeling alright?" I'd freak if my mom brought up Sora or something related to Kingdom Hearts at all.

 

Wow! That IS wierd. I tried explaining KH 1 and 2 to my mom before, but she showed no intrest. So now I'm trying to explain FFVII to her. I just got the movie FFVII: Advent Children, so I'm waiting to see how that's going to work out.
