She flinches.
She sighs as she rests her chin on his head. "Guess you gotta read those to me."

 

"Or teach you to read." "What's wrong?"

 

"Do you think Nyx is tormenting me? When are we going to die? Why does fear have a grip on my heart?"
"Do we have to?" She whines.

 

"No. We're immortal. And what are you scared of?" "Yes."

 

"I'm scared of losing you or our babies and Sora."
"Ok. Where do we start?"

 

"Our children are fine and Sora's chained up." He took the book off the shelf that he used to teach his pups to read and opened it to the first page. "This," He said, pointing to an 'A', "Is A."

 

"Fear runs my life. I don't know..."
"A." She repeated.

 

He hugged her. "I'd say love runs your life instead." "And that's 'B'."

 

She smiles. "What would I do without you?"
"B." She repeated again.

 

"Go insane or depressed." "The next one is 'C'."

 

"Hello? Anyone there?"
She repeats after her brother.

 

He put their son down next to her. "I'll be right back." He headed off to Sephana. "The one after that is 'D'."

 

He curls up into a ball on her lap.
She strokes her son's hair.
She hugs her legs.
She nods for her brother to continue.

 

He picked up his older daughter. "The next is 'E'."

 

"Papa?"
She yawns.

 

"That would be me."

 

She hugs her father.

 

He hugged her back.

 

"Where's everyone?"

 

"Your mother is in our room and Orochi and Garnet are in the library."
