"I hate her for not being there for me. Can't you do anything about it?"

 

"Afraid not. My body is forcing me to protect her."

 

"Not destroy her, restore my mom back the way she was."

 

"I wouldn't allow her near you all then."

 

He tilted his head in confusion.

 

"I think my body is forcing me to protect her because she is a baby."

 

"But I need her. A baby can't help someone like me."
Her body heat began to fade.

 

*Sighs* Now that foot's going to be murder to walk on.

He wrapped his wing around her. "Then I can take care of you."

 

"I need a mother."
She shivers violently.

 

He pulled her close against his chest. "How about Garnet or one of your grandmothers?"

 

"No, mom, Mei, or Ocean."
"What's wrong with me?"

 

"Try dispelling your fire kitten."

 

She dispelled it but nothing changes. Only her heat steadily drops to icy cold.

 

He wrapped a small heated blanket around her.

 

"It's... not helping."

 

He pressed her closer to his chest.

 

"That's squishing me now."
He wrapped heat around the girl and his father.
