"I don't want to go near Seph even though I want to see him." She felt stupid for not making any sense.

 

He blinked in confusion. He teleported to Mei.

 

She whirls around then growls at him with her ears pointing to the back and baring her teeth.
"I fear I'll hurt him as much as I did to you..." She buries her hands in her face. "Where did we go wrong, Sephiroth?"

 

"Sit, girl." He didn't answer as he zoned out.

 

She obeys but her ears are still in the same position.

 

He cautiously approached her.

 

She growls again.

 

He raised his hands to show he meant no harm.

 

She stops but frowns mentally. "You are hurting me right now."

 

"Then I'm sorry." He said as he hugged her neck.

 

"I forgive you. Just don't do that unless you are positively sure."

 

"Let's go home." He said as he opened a portal.

 

She walks through the portal. "I saw her and she scares me."
"Sephiroth? Do you know?"

 

"Hm? Wha?" He said as he snapped out of his thoughts. "I don't blame you." He said as he followed her.

 

"How did we go wrong? Was it because of Nyx's dealings?"
She waits until his hand is on her head to assure her worries.

 

"Yes." He scratched behind her ears.

 

"Her over-protectiveness got in the way, just like how I get irritated by yours. I had no control to do anything. That seems rather unfair."
"What are we going to do now? I'm bored of reading and you better not throw me into a bathtub." She said as she points out her fur is sticky from the dried blood.

 

"You weren't even trying to do anything, in fact, you were telling me to leave her alone." "Aw, why not?" He said jokingly.

 

"Your anger just for us to hold each other is worst than Ifrit's hellfire. I couldn't get out nor handle it. I didn't say anything further because I was actually rooting for you."
"You are going to have more difficulty."

 

"Plus there was that time when your anger randomly exploded on Malik." He put his arms under her stomach and lifted her up. "We'll see about that."
