Soul Eater- A Witch's Academy is on the Rise?

Patty giggled and cheered as Kid fired. "Yeaaaaah! Go Kid, go!" To her, she was having the time of her life.

Liz on the other hand was keeping an eye on Nox and the situation around her. "Careful Kid, she could appear any time some where else."


Lord Death was surveying the situation of each mission very carefully, making notes to himself and what not. Although he sensed something unusual. "Hm?" He looked up to the window and right away saw Fae. A huge anime sweat drop appeared as he looked up at Fae. "Okay then, I'll pretend I didn't look." Lord Death turned back around and looked at his mirror, acting like he was busy with a few things. Although he did put the staff on a silent alert that there was a witch in the academy and to get her immediately. Lord Death wasn't going to hurt her, he was just curious to know how in the world she got here in the first place. 'Can't make the same mistake twice now.'

 

Fae wasn't really watching Lord Death much. Her eyes were watching the mirror, as it was nicely polished.

Nox winced as she could feel some bullets just miss her. Ooh, that sure was close. I've got to get more serious with these guys. Uh, wait. Weren't there a few girls as well? I know that two of them are guns that are shooting me right now, but...perhaps I can take the other two as hostages? she grinned at her brilliant plan. First things first, I have to get rid of that shinigami first. If only I could trap him where there will be no outside disturbances. I so very want to finish this duel. Oh wait! Surely, by now he must be done with those kids there, right? That may be the perfect place! Luring him should be a piece of cake. The hard part is to imagine the place in my head. Nox nodded to herself in agreement with this plan. She'll dispatch of this group one by one instead of holding hostages. Nox went inside a nearby building to be hide and be safe for a few moments to concentrate. She sat down cross-legged and visualized the rundown amusement park in her head, picturing a location near some game booths. In the distance was the ferris wheel, its lights blinking on and off erratically with some even burnt out. At that same place in the amusement park, a shaky portal opened. It was almost about to close in on itself before it stabilized and remained steady. Back at the town, Nox was panting from the exertion of trying to keep the portal from closing. She was much better at this now. A few more tries, and she may just perfect this. She stood up and wiped some sweat from her forehead before cautiously stepping outside again. In total, she was probably "missing" for about 5 minutes. Now, I've got to find him.

 

Death the kid held his guns and looked around the area "where could she have gone" Death the kid muttered as he examined the area, keeping a firm grip on his guns

Seth ran threw the town looking around the area with Drake following behind him "this is getting annoying now." Seth muttered quietly to himself easily getting annoyed at the fact that he couldn't find his enemy

 

Soul hoisted Zoey onto his shoulder, slinging her over like a sack of potatoes. What she'd said about children had piked his interest, but Stein had told them that he'd take care of it. If he wasn't allowed to follow, Soul would at least make sure that he and Maka got Koji and Zoey back to the others. Regrouping was the best they could do right now. They had their orders from Stein, all they had to do was follow them now; though Soul wasn't at all happy about it.

Kirby thanked Black☆Star, although he did think it was a bit much. He had a feeling that Black☆Star was always like this. He seemed to be the complete opposite of Soul. Kirby liked that. He didn't like Soul's constant scowl and cool-guy aura. It reminded him of Colt -- his gang's leader back in the day. Those were times he didn't want to think of.

Merlie relaxed, glad that Black☆Star had taken care of the clown. She was starting to feel like maybe they could go help the others and get back to the point of this mission when she heard what sounded like the ground crackling.
"Am I the only one that hears that?" she asked nervously. After the clown, she wans't up for a surprise attack from anything, especially if it came from underground.

Kirby glanced around, listening for whatever it was that Merlie was hearing. And then he heard it too; it sounded like something traveling under the ground, slowly but surely making its way towards them. He looked for the source and found that cracks were splitting the ground and getting closer to them.
"Moles?" Kirby guessed, trying to ease Merlie's nerves. She couldn't fight very well in this state. If it was something worse than rodents, Kirby would have to fight without her. He was confident he could protect her if the enemy wasn't another clown.

 

Lea and Fay, who had just barely left the DWMA, quickly ran through the alleyways and streets of Death City. Neither were too sure if their mission was still going on, but Lea had a feeling they were. She could still sense Kid and several others that were kind of far away. Lea huffed out, hearing her partner's footsteps beside her. "Fay, weapon form." Without any word, Fay quickly listened to her partner's commanded and turned into a double bladed sword. Once she was in Lea's hand, Lea quickened her pace, panting at how fast she had been running. Almost there.

"Savor your energy, Lea," Fay's distorted voice called out. "You don't know how things are at the moment. You need to slow down so you can have the energy to fight."

Lea suddenly came to an abrupt halt, bending over as she pressed her palms against her knees. "Sorry," she said towards Fay. "Got a little carried away." The young girl stood back up straight and looked around the area before her eyes were set in the direction she could feel Kid's and the other's souls. "They're fighting a really bad soul." Hearing Fay mutter something about moving again, Lea took a step forward before she took off into a run.

Chrona's lips parted, letting out a sigh as he did so, his mind wandering as he thought on the where Maka and the others might have gone. As much as he wished he was able to go, he was afraid the new kids wouldn't accept him. "Maybe they know I'm Medusa's child," he muttered quietly to himself.

The young boy sighed once more, now afraid to even look at anyone. The only thing he wanted to know was where the others had gone. "A mission, maybe?" he asked himself. His left hand held his right arm as he walked. "Maybe I should go ask Lord Death on where they went."

Now with a decision where to go, Chrona turned around and began walking back towards the academy. His feet stopped when he caught something from the corner of his eye. His eyes fluttered as he turned his head, seeing a girl (Fae) standing just outside Lord Death's window. Chrona perked an eyebrow before his eyes narrowed. Is she spying on Lord Death? His lips pressed tightly together as he walked towards the girl, his right hand outstretched in case the girl were to attack. Once he was close enough, he stopped walking. "Excuse me, why are you outside of Lord Death's room?" he called out, wanting the girl's attention.

Fae heard a little voice, turning her head to see Chrona. Gliding down to the boy(or girl), stiffening to his soul. "What are you? Witch? Human? Hmm?" Her voice was cold and creepy.

Step, step, smoke the cig, step, step, step. "What a pretty day." A smooth, silk voice cooed. "Well, I'm late, but I'm here." This woman brushed the blond hair out of her eyes. "Not working for once. Thank the Lord." Up the stairs, the white boots clacked, the white suit hugged her dark skin, the black collared shirt buttoned with style. "Let's see, I've got everything I need." She sang, up the steps. She paused, watching a boy talking to a crow with an earring around the neck. What's odder, this bird was talking back! "Is there something wrong with this picture?"

 

Nox went into another building and climbed to the upper floors. Looking through a window, she tried to spot the group of students and pick a target. Wait. If I get rid of the other two groups, it will just be me and the shinigami! What a perfect plan! I could care less about a duel with the sword than a duel with guns. Off to the side, Nox caught sight of the girl group by themselves. Ah, decided to show yourself now, eh? You've just made yourself an easy target. Hahahaha! Nox grinned with glee as she formed a portal to the side and a little ahead of the direction that Lea and Fay were traveling. She walked through a second portal that she formed in the room she was in and ended up outside prepared to catch Lea and bring her through the portal to the amusement park. After she had walked through the portal in the room, that portal immediately closed. The portal in the park was still open and steady. Geez, 3 portals! That was a bit of a strain, but I still handled it. I suppose that will be my limit for now. If she manages to escape my clutch I'll do something else. This scuffle can not last long, I need to stay relatively out of sight. She reached out for Lea to grab her and pull her into the portal with a wicked grin. Nox pulled out her gun just in case she did resist or if someone decided to interfere.

 

"Okay, Professor..." Maka looked at the blindfold in her hand and then looked at Zoey who was slung over Soul's shoulder. She walked up to the girl and then carefully tied the blindfold back around her eyes. "There we go," Maka said as she pulled her hands back to inspect her work. The miester then made her way over to Koji, who was still laying on the ground, and knelt down by him. "Ready to go? Alright... I'm going to lift you up." Maka helped pull Koji to his feet and then caught his weight so he was resting on her shoulder, and she had one of his arms around her shoulders to keep him up right. She wrapped her other arm around Koji's waist and then turned to face her partner. "Ready to go?" she asked with a small smile. Maka wanted to help Professor Stien as well, but she knew that this time they should follow orders... unlike other times.

"Hm?" Black☆Star looked down, just in time to see the ground splitting and cracking. Before he could react though, he was suddenly yanked off his feet by a green looking vine, and dragged backwards on the ground towards one of the game booths. "What the-? Let go of me!" Black☆Star writhed and wriggled, but the vines held tighter as he was being dragged away from the group. "TSUBAKI! NINJA SWORD MODE!"

Meanwhile, other vines were snaking towards Merlie and Kirby... Ready to drag them back like one of its other friends were doing with Black☆Star.

 

Soul nodded to Maka. Zoey wasn't heavy to him, so he figured they'd made a quick trip of getting back to Melrie, Kirby, Black☆Star, and Tsubaki. He knew Maka could carry Koji just fine, so he started walking. As his feet moved one in front of the other, he thought, Professor Stein can handle himself. Whatever is down there making those crying sounds, he can take care of it. It's got to be the missing kids. Nothing to worry about.

"Black☆Star!" Kirby stood to go after Black☆Star, but something wrapped around his ankle and knocked him on his stomach. Kirby grunted and pushed himself onto his hands and knees; he looked over his shoulder and laid eyes on a dark green-ish vine from the cracks in the ground constricting around his ankle. Worse than that, he saw more of the vines coiling around Merlie's torso. Kirby couldn't tell why but Merlie had her eyes tightly squeezed shut, and she looked... scared? Kirby had never seen her like this.
Acting quickly, Kirby's right forearm, from his elbow to his fingertips, changed into a silver blade. He cut the vine on his ankle and scrambled over to Merlie. "Hey, come on, Merlie; snap out of it!"

"Tell me it's not a snake," Merlie said quietly, her voice trembling. She could feel herself being pulled backwards, and then Kirby's hand taking hold of her shoulders. Then the sound of snapping -- something trying to cut the vines around her. She opened her eyes and saw Kirby's half-changed arm working it's way through the thick vines.

Kirby worked as fast and as hard as he could, but the vines didn't want to give up their grip on his partner. He swore under his breath. It seemed useless, but he kept cutting away at the vines, hoping that no others would come out of the shadows and pull him away from Merlie.

Colt knelt down next to his fellow gang member, looking into his terrified eyes. "You were only holding us back anyway," Colt smirked, enjoying the look of horror on the boy's face as Colt raised his trusty knife. He lowered his voice and added, "Don't worry, I'll send Kirby to meet you." Without giving the boy the chance at even a last breath, Colt plunged his knife into the kid's back; and for good measure, gave it a twist that sent a popping sound echoing against the cave walls. It must have been the snapping of his spinal cord. Colt stood and looked at Sekira as he wiped his knife clean on his pants. "Good enough for you?"

 

OOC: Wait...she's in a bird form? I thought she was in human form. XD rtigrbtg Whatever.

BIC: Lea took in a short breath, suddenly feeling one of the souls close to her. "What's wrong?" Fay's voice cut off her thoughts, knowing well her partner could feel her sudden tension. "We've got company," she said, turning her head in the direction she felt Nox's soul. Her eyes grew wide when seeing the woman's hands reaching out towards her. She was that close?! Lea quickly took a step back, leaning back as well as she stretched out her free hand to do a backflip. When her hand made contact with the concrete, the young girl kicked her legs in an attempt to unarm Nox. She has a gun. Got to get rid of that.

Chrona's eyes fluttered once more, surprised the crow could actually talk. So he wasn't mistaken after all. Only witches can transform in an animal. The young boy kept his guard up; even though it was just a bird, it could still talk and he could feel an odd vibe he was getting. The voice the crow made frightened him slightly, but he kept in feet where they were in attempt to not cower away. If needed, he was ready to summon Ragnarok. "I asked you who you are," Chrona spoke back, trying to not let himself stammer.

 

"A Bird." Fae replied. That answer was half true, so she couldn't be lying. "I'm here to see if I could get any info on Medusa." Another half truth.
This woman, watching this odd scene between crow and boy, stood confused. As soon as she heard "witch", her interest spiked. Slowly moving about, edging closer to the main door. Maybe the staff here could help the boy? It was worth the shot. At least Fae didn't notice her.

 

"Right!" Tsbaki leaped into the air and transformed into a ball of light. That light then raced across the air and landed into Black Star's hand, taking on the form of the ninja sword.

Angel watched as Colt literally backstabbed his previous follower. She twitched when she heard the popping sound. Brutal. Cruel. A painful way to die. Also not as effective as other ways. That guy will most likely die from blood loss from the wound and from the heart, if he damaged it. Otherwise, he'll just be paralyzed from that vertebrae and down. Possibly die from dehydration as well, and maybe even starvation if he lasts that long. All in all, I disapprove. she thought bitterly as she gave Colt a withering glare. "You should learn to kill someone more effectively." was all she said to him before walking out of the cave, stepping over the bodies and leaving the remaining souls for Sekira. Once outside, she sucked in a lungful of the cool refreshing air as a gentle breeze passed by. It was far better than the stale metallic air in the cave from all the blood. Angel sighed sadly. There's no way, Sekira would want to be her partner now, after her show back there. Acting crazy and rebuffing Colt, a new ally; what could she possibly think of Angel now? I suppose I'll have to get used to him. It's unhealthy to hold grudges against friends for a while. [lolololohypocritelolololol]

Nox frowned in displeasure. Of course, the kid would see her coming. What ever made her think anything would ever be easy? Regardless, she fired the Beretta at Lea retracting her hand quickly as Lea dared to try and kick the gun out of her hand. She then immediately closed the portal she came out of and made a portal behind Lea. It'd be great if she could just flip right in. It'd save me the trouble of trapping her myself. While staying focused on Lea, Nox quickly glanced around, looking for signs of the other two groups before focusing back on Lea and shooting at her again. Ah. How many rounds have I fired? Might as well reload soon. Probably before I step into the portal myself. "Let's have some fun, shall we?" she said to Lea with a devilsh grin.

 

Zoey felt herself being carried by someone... she guessed it was Soul, Maka's partner since this person who was carrying her was pretty strong. Zoey kept quietly, letting her energy come back to her as fast as it could. Her mind was still focusing on how much she screwed up in the fight against her old antagonist, and then he got away... again. As Zoey listened to the quiet footsteps of Soul and heard Maka helping Koji along, she suddenly picked up a noise that almost sounded like a beep. Zoey tilted her head to find the noise and listened to it intently. The beep was steady and quiet, almost like a...

"Bomb!" Zoey said hoarsely. "To your left, to your left!"

Maka quickly looked over to where Zoey indicated where the bomb was and found it immediately. It was small, but if it exploded near them they could seriously get hurt. Quickly looking around, Maka saw that a piece of the hallway looked out of place. As she looked more closely at it, she could see that the piece of the wall turned very slightly. Thinking fast, Maka shoved herself while dragging Koji against Soul and slammed into the place where the wall looked out of place. The wall suddenly turned inward, sending her and the others into a dark corridor while the rotating door swung back just in time when the bomb exploded.

Black☆Star gripped Tsubaki in his hands and slashed down at the vines, cutting them into pieces. Seeing that he was free, the ninja quickly jumped to his feet and barely moved out of the way just as more vines shot towards him. He flipped backwards, avoiding the vines as they were coming at him and then quickly changed his course. The vines snapped together temporarily becoming tangled. Black☆Star looked just in time to see Merlie being encased by the vines, and Kirby trying to free her. Tightening his hold on Tsubaki, Black☆Star ran forward with a yell and slashed at the vines to help Kibry out.

Grendel looked over at Terra, eyes still wild from the excitement of killing and collecting souls. He looked at the souls gathered in his arms and then looked at Terra. Taking in a deep breath, he finally calmed down and became solemn again. "Here," Grendel muttered as he offered the souls to Terra. They were more than what he consumed while he was busy killing. He wanted Terra to get strong, he wanted her to become the best. It was the least he could do for someone that he cared about.

"One more thing," Sekira said as she looked blankly at Colt. Hearing and seeing the boy kill someone in front of her didn't effect Sekira at all. She didn't even notice Angel walking away from them; they still had unfinished business with this kid. "Eat his soul... Once you accomplish that, you're in. This shows that you're not afraid to take a risk, that you want to try something new even if the consequences are great in the end."

"Well, well, well... What have we here?" A man stepped out of the shadows and into the light where Chrona and Fae were at. The man had longish red hair and wore a nice suit with shiny black shoes, almost giving him the formal look. He had his hands in his pockets, and had a serious expression on his face as he looked at the two. "A talking bird. That's not normal, unless you're a witch..." Spirit was informed by Lord Death to go check on one of the students that was reported to be spying on the grim reaper. Sure enough, he found what he was looking for. Actually, Chrona beat him to it first, but he was here to help with the situation now.

"I couldn't help it, but I overheard you telling Chrona that you're looking for information on Medusa. Hate to break it to you, but you're looking in the wrong place." Spirit's voice was serious, showing that he wasn't going to mess around with this at all. Witches were serious business, especially since one almost made his best friend and one of his partners to go insane and almost killed his daughter... and Chrona for that matter. Witches were nothing but trouble to him.

 

Kid immediately looked over at the area of gunfire and ran forward and held his guns tightly. "who could she be firing at? Seth and Drake?...or maybe Fay and Lea" Kid said remembering the the two new members to the DWMA and noticed the scene up ahead and fired at Nox


Seth and Drake looked over at the area as well "no time to waste. We found the target so lets move" Seth said to his bother as the two of them nodded and began to run

Stein continued along the path towards the sobs he had heard, keeping his senses sharp in case of any traps. He also used his soul perception to try and see what was causing the sobs

 

Soul moved Zoey from his shoulder to rest against his chest, to protect her from getting hurt further, and landed on his back. He grunted as he hit the ground. Maka had thought quickly and reacted better than he would have; what a lucky partner he was. Soul sat up, moving Zoey to sit next to him, and rubbed his head. It was dark and Soul couldn't see much.
"Are we all in one piece?" Soul spoke to the blackness. For a moment, he was worried that they'd been separated.

Kirby made progress with Black☆Star's help. The vine's around Merlie were either cut or retreated. It only dimly crossed Kirby's mind to wonder why they'd back off when they'd seemed so intent only seconds earlier. But Kirby was more concerned over Merlie. His purpose for living had almost been taking from him twice within the same hour.

Merlie opened both eyes once she'd felt the vines slither off her. Answering Kirby's unasked question she said, "I'm okay."

"You are not," Kirby's arm returned to flesh and blood, and he placed his hand on Merlie's neck. Something from the vines, a thorn possibly, had cut her. It wasn't life-threatening, but seeing Merlie bleed churned Kirby's stomach. He looked around, paranoid that more vines would come from the shadows; vines bigger or more dangerous could be 'watching' them now, waiting for them to let their gaurd down.

Merlie removed Kirby's hand from her neck and looked to Black☆Star. He was full of himself, that was for sure, but she liked his determination and strength. "Thanks, you two." She said to Black☆Star and Tsubaki.

Colt looked to the soul that had formed from his former gang member's body. He'd never done anything like what Sekira had spoken of. It sounded disturbing. But if that was what it took to join this new 'gang', then he didn't have a choice. He'd made his gang member do some pretty rediculous stuff to get in too. He took the glowing soul in his hand and stared at his for a moment. It was a curious thing, a soul. Not thinking much of it, for fear of growing squemish, Colt popped the soul into his mouth and swallowed. It wasn't bad tasting, and the feeling he got when it hit his stomach was quite enjoyable. Colt smirked wickedly. "Anything else?"

 

Bunny was behind Spirit, trying to look firm.
"Just on how to get rid of the snake." Fae pouted, flapping her wings. Going airborne, she was hpping to hide out of sight. "I have not attacked you, so you can leave me be."

 

Yuki decided to check on the bird witch, just in case she was causing trouble. He slowly got up, putting one hand on his knee for support. Yuki stretched out his muscles and yawned quietly. He walked away from the auditorium, eventually reaching outside. He looked up to the window where the bird witch was previously at, but she wasn't there. Yuki slowly made his way around the school, but staying close to the Death Room. He finally saw the bird witch but there were other people with her. One a young-looking boy, a red-haired man, and a woman. Then, he saw the crow go airborne and quickly headed closer to them. "What's going on?" He asked, a tone of curiousity in his voice.

 

Tsubkai's image appeared on the blade of the ninja sword. She looked over towards Merlie with a smile. "No problem. We're here to watch each others' backs, right?" She looked up towards Black Star. "Do you see any more?"


Terra smiled at Grendel and thanked him before she ate the souls. She saw that one girl had left the cave and the other was busy with the gang member, while the male in there seemed uninterested in them, but she was still worried of one of them claiming the souls for themselves. So she hurried with the consuming of them before speaking again. "How are you?" Terra inquired, thinking he was okay, but ready to perform a calming wave just in case.

Beyond chuckled as he watched the gang leader kill one of his own and then eat his soul. The sound made his smile grow wider and he could smell the blood leaking out. And then he smelled the soul. The scent of one's soul was intoxicating. Perhaps he would try to peel away the other student's bodies to see what their souls smelled like up close? But soon the strong scents of the souls were gone and his smile turned to a somewhat normal one. It was very amusing what humans did to live.

After the little act he got to his feet and streched. "How uneventful." He said with a sigh and headed out of the cave. Once outside he saw Angel a little ways off. She didn't seem like himself or the one they called Grendel. She was more...sane. Hmm...

Beyond walked over towards her with a curious expression. "Wasn't that fun?" He asked, trying to start a conversation.
