Soul Eater- A Witch's Academy is on the Rise?

Lea raised Fay up, and swung the bladed sword in an attempt to block some of the bullets. She felt one graze her leg, but she simply winced and blocked any others that headed towards her direction. Seeing no more, bullets, the young girl quickly ran over to Seth and Kid, her eyes momentarily looking over Seth's wounds. "Kid has a point," she said, turning her head towards the direction she last saw Nox. "Or she might be trying to lure us into something."

An evil grin crossed Medusa's lips, feeling the souls of Kid and his group. The snake that had appeared when Louis spoke to her wrapped around her arm, slowly sliding up to her shoulder. Not too far as well, she felt Maka's, Stien's and a few other souls as well. "With Stien here, it might be a bad idea to show myself," she quietly said, her grin fading as her head turned in the direction she felt his soul. "Oh well." A small smile graced her lips as her eyes closed and her head lowered. "Soul Protect, release." With those words, her soul was now shown for what it truly was, revealing her presence to anyone that can use Soul Perception.

 

"tsk she could be anywhere at this ready to strike whenever we let out guard down" Kid said as he looked around the amusement park trying to memorize every detail and find the evil human but immediately stopped and was surprised "what the? a witches soul?" Kid said shocked as he could sense Medusa's soul

As Seth looked around with Kid in search of Nox Seth stopped his search the moment he heard what Kid said "a witch? here? damn it...she could be in league with that psycho" Seth said as he looked over at Kid and then back at the amusement park. With a witch joining the fray this would certainly increase the complicity of the situation

Stein's eyes immediately widened the moment he senses a witches soul "So you have come...Medusa" Stein said quietly and calmly looked up ahead. He wanted nothing more than to run forward toward where the soul was, to fight, to rip open and dissect the witch that had revealed herself, but he knew his job was more important and that job was to protect the kids. He immediately raised his hand and began to screw the huge screw in his head. Once he heard a click he looked over at the kids behind him with a smile "I sorry to ask you to do this but I need all of you to start moving faster. The faster we get out of here the faster we can get you home" Stein said

 

The intensity of the sudden dark aura made Nox gasp. She had never felt anything so terrifying, so dark, so powerful. I must meet them. To know what true power looks like. Nox did not have Soul Perception but anyone with a heightened sense could feel this kind of dark energy from far away. She immediately looked around her, quickly trying to find the source of this powerful atmosphere. There. In that direction. Like an insect to a bright light, Nox headed in the direction of a building that she hoped Medusa was in. "My master..."

Angel's eyes went wide as she began twitching because of the great wave of power that suddenly filled the park. It could only belong to one person. The one who found her. "Urgh..." Angel moaned as she clutched her head to possibly stabilize the twitching of her neck as black charges of insanity showed themselves around her, creeping along Angel's body, shocking her causing the twitches. "Me-Medusa's..he-here...." she said obviously.

 

Soul looked toward the sound of Black☆Star's yell. It sounded as though they now had something else to fight. He wondered if they should group back up with Black☆Star; if there was something over there that was dangerous it wouldn't be a good idea to have the kids near it. He sighed, rubbing the back of his head. This just wasn't his type of mission.

"The plant was poisonous," Merlie explained, placing her palm on Kirby's forehead. He was burning up. "Kirby got a lot of it in his system."

"'Mm fine," came Kirby's muddled reply, his eyes closed now. "Just sleepy...."

Spirit's eyes brightened, now recognizing Bunny. "Why didn't you sing it?! It was a masterpiece!"

Colt heard the same thing everyone else did. He looked to Sekira and saw from her eyes that she had an idea of who was here. He, being from a street gang, would have loved to simply charge in and join the ruckus but it didn't seem like an option with Sekira around.

 

Bunny facepalmed, almost ready to get out a new cig. "I do take requests, but not about young girls! It makes you seem like some sort of creeper! I'd rather you just get a hobby other then stop obsessing over 'Maka'. It's really starting to upset the customers." She couldn't help it, pulling out a cig and lighting it. Taking a puff, she breathed away the stress. "Bad enough you let the bird go on that balcony up there, of all places."

 

Maka's head suddenly jolted up as she felt the wave wash over her. She stopped dead in her tracks, standing there as the soul wavelength pulsated over her. She knew it all too well. So many times had this witch caused her sorrow, so many times had she gotten angry because of her.

Koji, noticing that they were leaving someone behind, looked behind him to see Maka standing there, shaking a little. But she didn't look scared, more like... angry. "Maka...?"

"Medusa..." Maka's voice was shaky when she said it. So many bad memories coursed through her mind, reminding her of the terrible things she'd done. "She's here..." Maka looked up gradually, her eyes shadowed by the anger she was feeling inside. She clenched her hands into tight fists, trying to suppress her anger.

"I sense her too," Zoey said quietly, looking towards the enterance of the FunHouse. "Should we stay in here since we have children to protect...?" She sensed that Medusa was a dangerous one to deal with... a very dangerous one.

"Kay," a little voice pipped up for the rest of the group of kids. They started to move forward with Stien, going as fast as their little legs could carry them.

Black☆Star stood back on his heels, looking over the situation. "Well it can't be that bad! Tsubaki, think you can help us?" This was the subtle hint to everyone that Black☆Star didn't know what to do exactly with this. He was no medical professional, and he didn't want to do anything that would make him look stupid. He needed to keep up his reputation after all. Since his sixth sense was so weak, he didn't notice the negative soul energy...

Grendel shuddered when he felt the wavelength of the witch, stopping in place. "What's she doing here...?" Grendel said quietly, unsure what was going on.

Sekira also looked up, wondering what their mistress was doing here as well. "Medusa..."

 

"Agh.....maybe she's here...to...check on us?" said Angel with doubt in her voice. She was still twitching and spasming from the shocks of insanity, heightened by Medusa's presence. Has this happened before? How did I make it stop? Is it because I'm...resisting it? Angel gritted her teeth as a more powerful pulse of insanity raged through her. All this because I'm resisting it? Well, what happened before when I stopped? Did something cataclysmic happen? As far as Angel could tell, nothing terrible happened when she stopped resisting the insanity, but then again she couldn't actually recall anything at all if there even was a precedent. Still, it was worth a try to stop being a hindrance to everyone else. Gradually, Angel relaxed her body and stopped resisting the insanity that was growing within her. The shocks stopped harming her and she embraced the insanity. As a result, Angel grew more sullen and quiet. She unsheathed her sword and silently followed after everyone else, her eyes staring straight forward. It felt as if her vision was enhanced because of the insanity and even the fog around her memories cleared a little as she began to recall the first few moments she had met Medusa. Now now. Stop resisting, or you'll be in even more pain. This is to help you after all. Hahahaha! Her voice and laugh echoed through Angel's mind as she recalled Medusa's words. She gripped her sword more tightly, determined to show their headmaster what she was made of.

 

Tsubaki turned back into her human form and went over to Kirby. "You can't sleep. You must stay awake and fight it off." She didn't have any antidote to help but she could clean the wound. And perhaps Stein had something. Either way they needed to get Kirby out of here as soon as possible. "Can you stand?"


Beyond only laughed when he felt Medsua's persence. It was something he quiet enjoyed feeling; it meant fun times were soon to come. "There's someone near~ Let's rip them apart."

 

Soul stiffened at the witches name. He grit his teeth and looked to Maka. Anger and hatred were bubbling up within him. Some little voice deep down inside him chuckled darkly, but Soul barely registered it. Soul wanted nothing more than to ditch the kids and go with Maka find Medusa. When they did find her... He hadn't thought that far ahead yet.

"Think so," Kirby nodded. He struggled to his feet, helped by Merlie. The world spun around him but he managed to stay on his feet. His brown gloves were stained red from the cuts on his arms, though he couldn't see clearly enough to notice that.


Merlie supported Kirby's weight by letting him lean on her. She looked around, still a little paranoid that something else would come and attack them now that their guard was down.

"So Medusa's here," Colt smirked, eager to meet this witch. "What are we waiting for?"

"Hey, don't go telling me how to do my job," Spirit retorted, more flirtingly than angrily.

 

"Well, you still let that bird get away.... And are you oogling your eyes at my CHEST?!" Bunny had half the mind to stab Spirit. "But if you want to keep your job, let's get that witch!" She gave a bunch of puffs, running to find Fae.

"Soul Protect!" Fae transformed into her human self, running into the auditorium again. She slowed her pace, less suspicion.

 

Seth looked over at Kid unsure of what to do. Their orders were to take care of the one attacking the townspeople, but now their target had disappeared and a witch had appeared. The best thing for him to do was to just look over at the guy in charge of the group

Kid closed his eyes and then looked over at his squad. "we are going to find that witch. We will be just wasting our time here searching for that psycho in this huge amusement park. Besides I think I recognize this soul. Its someone we can ignore" Kid said as he tightened his grip on his guns "follow me" Kid said as he ran towards the area Medusa's soul was

Stein tried running at the exact speed the little kids were running at, making sure to not to leave any one of them behind. As they ran he noticed a group up ahead "Maka, Soul" Stein yelled out as ran towards them with the kids. It was great luck for him now that he could give someone the kids

 

Maka turned to see that Professor Stien found the other children that were trapped inside this place. This was probably everyone, but she wasn't so sure. She had other things to focus on anyways. She turned back to the entrance and resisted from running straight out. She had other duties, but those obligations were starting to drift away fast.

"Uh... Professor Stien, should we watch the kids or go after the witch?" Koji asked hesitantly for everyone else in the group since no one else spoke up. There were so many things to take care of all at once, this was almost overwhelming for Koji. 'This is one tough mission...'

Black☆Star quickly went over to Kirby's other side and hoisted his other arm over his shoulder so that Merlie didn't hold all the weight on her. He kept alert, looking aorund the park. He could hear voices, but he couldn't make it out. "Looks like more people showed up," he muttered quietly. Black☆Star then looked over at Tsubaki. "Isn't it not a good idea for people with poison in them to move around?"

"Orders..." was Sekira's quiet reply.

Tsubaki nodded. "We got to get him out of here though... Perhaps Professor Stein is near by..." Her voice trailed off as she saw a group of people heading their way.

Beyond saw Black Star's group and a wide smile formed on his face. "Found them~"

 

"you will stay along side these kids. Protecting these kids are our main objective" Stein replied as he adjusted his glasses "meet up with the others and be careful, I can sense other souls around here" Stein said as he walked forward "Unless you need to defend yourself or your allies, under no circumstances will any of you fight the witch" Stein said looking over at Maka specifically, understanding her anger at the witch Medusa "understand?" Stein said

 

Lea raised her head, her eyes automatically shifting towards the direction she could feel a witch. A witch is actually here. Her train of thought was cut off when she heard Kid speak out, causing her to look towards him. She nodded her head in response to him and quickly followed him as soon as he had started running. This could get ugly.

Medusa sighed out softly, happy to know a few souls were heading towards her direction. "I don't think I'd stay here for long," she said to herself, knowing well if she did, she'd only have to fight everyone from the DWMA that was there.

 

Nox finally arrived at Medusa's location. She followed the intense wave of darkness that was making her more and more insane with every step she took towards her. "I've finally found you," she said breathlessly. Nox then got down on one knee and bowed her head at Medusa. "I wish to serve you. My mistress." She hoped that Medusa would accept. Otherwise, she ran the risk of having her life ended here. However, Nox didn't really care. If she died by this woman's hands, then she'd be happy enough.

 

Incredibly frustrated, Soul nodded in agreement to Professor Stein's orders. He knew Maka would be upset, but Stein did have a point. They did have to focus on why they were there and get the children to safety. Soul's free hand formed a fist; a child held his other. "Alright then. Let's go."

Kirby raised his head to look where Tsubaki was. He felt sick to his stomach and was glad there were two people holding him up. He saw the group Tsubaki did, but couldn't make out who it was; his vision was blurring. "Hey... who is it?"

Colt focused on the group of people that Beyond mentioned. "Ho-ly crud." He muttered, staring at the boy in orange that was supported by two others. "That looks like...." His mouth twisted into a cruel smirk. After all this time, he didn't think he'd ever see Kirby again. Colt glanced sideways at Sekira and Beyond. "How 'bout we go give 'em a greeting?"

Spirit shook his head. The lady did have a nice rack. "Focus." He told himself, running after Bunny. He had a job to do.

 

Maka stared at Professor Stien for a few moments, her eyes dancing with anger. Finally, she mustered a quiet, "Yes Professor..." Professor Stien was right though, they needed to protect the kids. They came all this way to find them after all. What if the others were in trouble though? Maka was getting flustered, there was so much to do but they had little help to help them out right now. Maka looked at the floor, trying to contain the anger inside of her.

Zoey sighed out quietly, holding her hand out for one of the little ones to take it. She felt a small hand clasp her hands and she closed her hand around that hand. She wanted to be done with this like everyone else. 'After this... we can go home...'

Black☆Star heard voices and turned to see a group of kids walking towards him. He stood rigid, still holding Kirby up. These guys put him on edge, as much as he hated to admit it. 'Are these the kids Lord Death was talking about?' Black☆Star didn't give them any friendly smiley; these people were looking for trouble, and Black☆Star just wanted to get this mission done and over with by now. He was starting to feel a little light headed. "Who the h*** are you guys anyways?"

Sekira just looked at Black☆Star, eyes cold and unfriendly. She was expressionless, almost lifeless as she just looked at the group in front of her. "So the one in orange is your friend you were going to give information on, is it?" Sekira said out loud, not caring if the other ones heard her. "They don't look like much... we shouldn't waste our energy on them."

"Listen, lady! You haven't seen nothing yet!" Black☆Star yelled, trying to show that they weren't ones to take so easily. Who had the right to easily judge them anyways?

 

Beyond frowned at the thought of leaving them to live. That was just no fun. "But killing is never a waste of engery. Plus..." He inhaled deeply and exhaled with a wide smile. "Their souls smell so good."

Tsubaki frowned upon seeing how intent the boy was on fighting while the others seemed willing to move on. They needed to get Kirby out of there for some help as soon as possible and this group... Something was off about all of them. They had to be the ones they were warned about. "We need to get Kirby out of here..." She whispered to Black Star.

 

Soul clapped Maka on the back as he walked past her; looked like he had to have enough control for the both of them. Somewhere in him he knew the fear the kids must have been feeling -- another kid had taken his free hand once he'd let it drop by his side. He wanted very badly to find Medusa and... He hadn't thought that far ahead yet.

Colt walked right up to Kirby; Tsubaki had confirmed his suspicion. Folding his arms behind his back, Colt leaned forward so his face was level with Kirby's. "Look at you. Pathetic. What happened to the Kirby I used to know? If you're still going by that name."

Kirby's dull purple eyes stared back at Colt. In this state, he could barely recognize Colt. Then his eyes widened as his memories of his gang days flooded back to him. Kirby pulled his arm off Merlie's shoulders; holding up his hand in front of Colt, Kirby's fingers twisted into their gang sign. "It's still my name," His weak voice replied.

Merlie, confused as to what was going on, put Kirby's arm over her shoulders again. She watched this new boy warily. Kirby had never said anything about him to her, but they seemed to know each other.

Colt stood up straight now. He still hadn't paid an ounce of attention to Merlie or Black☆Star. Then, with the speed of a practiced gang member, he drew one hand from behind his back and punched Kirby square in the jaw, sending his head into Black☆Star's shoulder. "That's for leaving us."

A little blood dripped from Kirby's mouth; he made no effort to move his head but his eyes traced Colt's shadowing form as it walked back to what looked like his new gang to Kirby. Sorry.... He wished he could have said it out loud. Kirby closed his eyes and finally let darkness take his consciousness.
