Yeah, I've heard that about laser spamming, also. I don't think that's as cheap, but it's still just a little. xD

Same with Meta Knight. It makes me think two things. Either they will be unlockables, or Masahiro Sakurai figures everyone and their dog know that they will be in it, so he's saving them until he doesn't have an update later on.

Masahiro Sakurai has already stated (I can't recall where I read it) that he is only revealing starter characters on his site.

Eh? Not sure what kind of tourneys you play at, but waveshining is completely legal at all international tourneys and many of the tourneys around my area, both city and nationwide. Such international tourneys includes MLG and Jack Garden, and many more.

As well, I think you're referring to infinite waveshine, which *would* be banned if it were possible on neutral maps, but fortunately enough, all international tourneys like MLG have banned stages where infinite waveshining is possible (i.e. Flat Zone, Yoshi's Island (Pipe), Icicle Mountain, etc). If you notice, all tourney-legal stages are picked to make infinite waveshining impossible to do.

As a Fox player, I have to say:

    - 'Waveshining' is not cheap. The fact that it's one of the most difficult techniques to execute flawlessly at will merits the reason why it's a dangerous move and why many Fox/Falco players use it. If a move had to be 'cheap', it would have to a) easy to do b) easy to repeat, and c) inflict a lot of damage in a short period of time. The waveshine does none of these things: one, it's hard to do, even harder to master, and requires lots of practice before it can be applied effectively.

    - Infinite Waveshining is not possible to do on all characters. There are only a select few characters that can be waveshined infinitely, and some of those can pull out of it if they DI properly (Marth is one of these characters).

    - I mentioned "Infinite Waveshine" before, but 99% of the time it isn't used by players in tourneys. You mostly see infinite waveshines performed in friendlies because infinite waveshine (although very stylish and fancy) is completely pointless and not worth doing in real tourney matches. Once again, I think you're referring to "Infinite waveshine" because the waveshine has many many many applications that are commonplace among advanced Fox/Falco players:

    a) Waveshine --> Grab --> Up-throw --> U-air (Popular combo done on characters weak on the vertical recovery)
    b) Waveshine --> Upsmash (short but effective combo on vertically weak chars)
    c) Shine-turn around: shine-turn --> reverse wavedash (very quick way to edgehog if you're near the ledge)

    And many.. many more.

As for Falco, *all* pro Falcos use/need the waveshine for pillaring (I pillar with jump-canceled shines instead, but that's because my Falco game is ghey). Bombsoldier from Japan and PCChris from the US are one of the top Falco players in the world, and *both* use waveshines religiously in their gameplay, and have done so over the past few years at MLG.

Waveshine is not a banned technique, it's actually one of the stepping stones of becoming better Fox/Falco players. And if by chance you meant to refer to Infinite waveshine, don't worry about it being cheap--it's not even possible to do on tourney-legal stages.

Lol, I don't know much about Fox players except how to beat them, so I must have mistaken the two, my fault.

Nah, sorry if I came on a little strong; wasn't my intention.

Two questions though, to slightly change topic:

Who do you main in Melee? And please to enlighten me as to know you know how to beat Fox players. :3

Don't get me wrong, I've had my Fox ass-handed to me by many many different characters (local pro Luigis, Jigglypuffs, Captain Falcons, Peaches, etc), any Top-to-Middle tier character, I've mostly likely have gotten raped by at least once (exception: gotten raped by a few Links and a Kirby last March at a smashfest downtown <.<). Fox isn't invincible, just those guys were too skilled and had incredible mind games. =\

    Nah:
    a) That was slowed down in AR.
    b) That was a stand-alone Link that wasn't being controlled by anyone. That wouldn't be possible if the Link was DI'ing properly, which I can assure you every good player will be doing. No good player would find themselves victim to that.
    c) That video's old :3 If that was a big issue, FD would've been banned ages ago, but it's still the most commonly played map in tourneys to date.

As well, once again, that's Infinite Waveshine. I'm talking about Waveshine. They're crucially different. Waveshine is a single technique, Infinite waveshine is doing that same technique over and over again.

I use Ness, don't take me lightly, though, I know how to use him pretty well. And as to Fox, it's not too difficult if you know how to execute moves right. You see, Fox is a very fast character, however, most of his successful moves leave him vulneralbe for a little bit and that's when you strike. Once I get him off the edge, I can keep him off. Lol, that doesn't mean I can actually beat you persay, I don't know how good you are, but there are only a handful of Fox's I haven't been able to beat with it.

i dont know, i have a strange way of getting back to the stage....

one of my techniques is that i use the shine in midair, it stops your movement....
so if you are moving too fast away from the stage, and use it, you will stop moving away from the stage and just fall...

and if done right, it gives you an extra jump(little known fact) but, you have to use the firefox immediately afterward....

and while most aim right for the edge of the stage, i aim for the center....
