    >_>; Another wasted update, I honestly don't care about the items, I just play without items anyways.

I for one actually quite like the items, it adds a bit more craziness and fun to the mix, though it was a bit of a waste of an update. =/ It's just an upgrade of the hammer...nothing special and not all that needed.

It is fun, I won't deny that.

Just personally, I had a Melee free-for-all with items for the first time in 5 years--just didn't feel the same anymore. The match just felt incredibly trashy. lol.

I might've outgrown items with all the tourneys I've been doing. The flare wears off fast.

HOWEVER, I cannot resist the final smash orb. Gotta do that at least once.

    OH MIW GAWD!

This game supports Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. If you connect your Wii to the Internet, you can enjoy linked battles with distant people!

    For details, click here.

But because this form of communication is greatly affected by the distance between you and your opponent, your brawls may not run smoothly if you’re really far apart—like, for instance, if you’re connecting between Japan and America.

The more distant you are, the worse your connection becomes, and the slower it feels. I apologize, but I hope you understand.

There are two primary connection methods. The names of these methods are "With Friends" and "With Anyone." The menus and structures of each method are pretty different.

    | With Friends

Wii friends who have registered one another’s names can play together freely.

    Register your friends!

If you’re registered as friends, you can check each other’s status. If a friend is online and you earn his or her consent, you can enter a battle.

    You can change your icon...

And even send short messages during brawls!

These short messages are entered in advance, and you send them by taunting. There are four messages for the four directions on the + Control Pad: Up, down, left and right.

With friends, you can brawl any way you like. And there are other modes besides just free-for-alls.

    | With Anyone

You can also battle with people you don’t know who are looking for brawls. The most important point here is that you will not know each other’s names.

Your opponent will not know your name or any information about you, and neither of you can send short messages. There will also be no battle records kept for this mode, so whether you win or lose, it doesn’t matter. Just sit back and play.

Now, while you’re waiting for a match to start, you can kill time with a little practice on Sandbag.

We’re planning a number of services that make use of Wi-Fi, but we’ll reveal them gradually with the other modes. Enjoy.

Brawl has Wi-Fi. I can now die happy.

    Game Set And Match!

    Best Update Ever!

Holy Crap, My Life Is Complete!

EDIT: It's a shame that connection between Japan and America (and possibly between America and Europe) might be a little slow--since it's these connections between continents that would make international online tourneys so appealing--but I guess you can't have them all...

Nonetheless, perhaps they can improve on these connection issues in the near future, as long as they have something going from the get-go, I'm fine.

Or if you use a cable, buy the LAN Adapter for the Wii

    Wii LAN adapter

I'm planning to get one myself once my wired connection is setup downstairs here.

Also, I highly suggest you get the Nintendo brand only. Not only is it cheaper than Datels, but many who have bought Datel's have stopped working after a certain firmware update from Nintendo. Be it a lesson well learned.

LAN Adapter essentially gives your Wii a *wired* connection, providing you with a fast, secure, and reliable connection to the internet.

I'll have to have a look into this. It may be my only ticket at the moment to online play.

I've used the wireless connector but i wasn't impressed by it.

So wait, does this potentially mean there will be "Wins" and "Losses" records when you play with friends? Lol, that'd be funny.

As for the killing time with a little practice on sandbag... awesome. Waveshining boredom, ftw.
