Sword Art Online: Side Stories

OOC: Oh goodie. Time for some fun :D

BIC: If there was one thing he was right in, it was their non-experience. Once the round started, she dashed towards her target at blinding speed. He swing his axe horizontally early to catch her in it, but she slid under his swing and slashed at his ankles, causing him to fall onto his knees. Standing up, she stabbed backwards into his chest, waiting for a few seconds until she heard him cry out a surrender before she pulled out her sword and sheathing it. She then pouted as Masamune finished his target before she did."That's not fair! He was more persistent to surrender than your guy was!" She did knew the match only took a little over 10 seconds to finish.

 

Yes, a coffee would do. Maybe one cup or two? Perhaps two would suffice. After all, he had another few more hours of grinding left.
These were the thoughts of a teenager wearing a black cloak entering the cafe. He looked around, trying to find a free seat. Spotting one, he sat down on it and waited. That was what you did at a cafe, right?
(Oh god sorry about this sucky intro)

May Star and Masaru do the same for Round 2 Match 1?

 

Peeking through his fingers at Mya, Masamune struggled to hide a smile at her complaint. Even if the guys they fought were newbies...she fought better than they did. A mixture of disappointment and relief washed through him. He finished first....he wouldn't be spilling any secrets today...until he made another stupid bet like that. Covering his mouth until his real smile vanished, he replaced it with something fake and sheathed his sword. "Good...not a single dent in your health either. Looks like you owe me twenty Col." Glaring up at the stands as the boos started up again...he could hear a few cheers....and he knew quite well who they were from. Setting a hand around Mya's shoulders, he gave a sly grin to the crowd, "We should clear out...wouldn't want to be pegged with trash now would we? And I'd think you and I both would rather not be seen frequently by Miss Beater and whatshisname of her boyfriend. Wouldn't want to give them the wrong idea, huh?"

 

It was the second round of the tournament of the match-ups and it seemed their opponents were not any of the notable fights so far, masaru had to recall the two they'll be facing, they seemed to be nervous, probably because they saw him and Star partake in Round 1's First Match and managed to outdo Kuroi and Ittoki, or maybe it was because of their known titles, Star was a Beater and he was just a Soloer who was known pretty much on the front lines.

"Guess we'll just to just clear this one and perhaps after that, grab a bite to eat." he suggested to Star as he approached the field with her, the two NPC's looked liek they were shaking from nerves.

"Sorry, we're just following the rules." he said and withdrawn Dream Eater and one of them cried out. "We forfeit!" as Masaru blinked a few times to comprehend this. "...Guess that's that, how annoying." he muttered, sheathing Dream Eater, he was expecting the two NPC's to enjoy the fight like everyone else, maybe they just were so imitated by them.

 

Round 2 of the tournament. Now that everyone knew of her and Masaru's abilities, they wouldn't have to hold back form the very start. However their opponents seemed very nervous about this. The closer she and Masaru got the more they trembled. Maybe it was her status as a Beater, or Masaru's status as one of the top solo players. Masaru asked Star about something to eat afterwards, "Yeah, right after I set up shop Masaru-kun."

Before she knew it however, the two had forfeited. Odd it was. Maybe they just couldn't hold there own against us. Or they didn't want to battle the PKer in the finals if he made it through. "It can't be helped. Guess we will just have to wait for the finals now."

 

Round 2, Match 1. End.

Round 2, Match. Start.
Mya and Masamune vs Scarlet and Shiina

(I'll post once Twilight and Heartless have. Don't forget to mention the ribbons. Also whoever posts first gets to chose which color their team is.)

 

Masamune sighed as he heard the end result of the match and the announcement of his match against the guild leader and that little girl. "Feels like we just went...it's a good thing we didn't spend too much energy on that fight then..." Tying a red ribbon onto his belt so it hung down the side of his leg. An easy knot...just a tug and it would come off. "Hey, Mya, you feelin' like another bet? I won't take more of your money this time. We'll bet for something else." Unsheathing his sword early, Masamune kept his casual stance, but he wouldn't be making rookie mistakes with the guild leader. The woman who so strongly opposed his own guild stood before him and he wasn't about to let her off without a few scratches to her delicate pride.

Shiina shivered. She kept her head low as she re-entered the arena, tying her blue ribbon in a neat bow on her arm. Fear at meeting the PK Masamune's eyes...fear at what she would see within them. "I...I don't know if I can do this anymore... M-Masamune...the man who killed my friend...who's killed hundreds of other SAO players...wh-what do I do...?" She gripped her spear in front of her like a shield, issueing a command to her familiars to keep close to her. It wasn't a smart move on her behalf. Glancing up, Shiina suppressed the scream that swelled in her throat. Eventually she would've had to fight him, this she knew, and yet she felt her legs shake and her fingers grow numb. "Wh-what should I do....I...I don't want to die."

 

Mya tied the ribbon on her arm before slowly pulling out her sword and twirling it in her hand. "Another one? What's the offer? Make it more reasonable so I can AT LEAST attempt to match yours." She scanned the opposite side, eyeing Shiina who looked like she was about to collapse any second. "Hope it doesn't involve her. The girl is ready to fall over any moment."

 

Masamune pouted, "You read my mind...every single time... Don't worry...she's tougher than she looks. I'm positive she won't give in so easily. Especially if she knows what our bet is. I'll bet you....if I can't make her scream just once loud enough for everyone to hear it...I'll tell you why I founded the Laughing Coffin with PoH." Again...his secrets. I must have a death wish or something... If something like that bit of information gets loose...I'm as good as dead to any other PKer in this game. Grinning, he took a step towards Shiina, "Got it, wolf-girl? If I make you scream....one of my secrets stays with me forever."

Shiina's throat closed. A scream....if I scream....but then I'll falter...I'll lose...I'll be scared again just like that day...and even worse, I'll humiliate myself in front of Scarlet. She'll think I'm weak... Gripping her spear tighter, she pursed her lips.

Swinging around to face Mya, he motioned with his hand towards the not-so frightened girl. "See? It's a tough bet. You and I both know she's terrified of me...I guess, s'not like I can place her face... But a little thing people cling to called pride will hold back any terror filled screams." He tapped the tip of his blade to his head, "I play on fear. Makes these fights much more fun. Or would you rather pick something else that's...harder for me to win at?"

Shiina lifted her head up a fraction, "I hope....you're ready to lose then. I'm not scared of you!"

Those words struck a dull chord in Masamune's head...like he'd heard them before. "Hear that? She's not afraid of me. My...whatever shall I do?"

 

Mya still stared at the girl, still not convinced that she was fully 'not afraid' of Masamune. Even still...letting out a deep secret? This was big..."Wait...so it doesn't matter if she wins or lose as long as she can not let out a scream right?"

 

After tying the ribbon around her neck Scarlet joined the others out in the arena. Seems like Shiina was rather scared to go up against this PK, though that was to be expected. However what the timid thing said next caused anger to swell up inside her. So...he killed someone she knew?

"This time my familiars will be joining the fight," as she said this the raven took off and the tiger entered the stage, moving out to the rim of the arena. By this point it seemed like the other two were making a bet. Scoffing she looked to Mya. "To agree to such a repulsive bet...do your green cursor some pride and deny it. Because aiming to make someone scream...how sadistic."

Summoning her sword she decided to start the fight the moment the countdown ended, charging at Mya with sword aimed at her ribbon.

 

Ittoki spotted a boy wearing all black walk into the cafe. It was kinda odd since the cafe was all pastels and his appearance completely contrasted the cafe. Of course, being the type to walk up to anybody and everybody, Ittoki slipped out of their booth and trotted up to the lone Player.

"Um... Would you like to sit with us?" Ittoki asked the Player. "I'm Ittoki."

 

Masamune flicked his gaze to Scarlet's familiars and steped aside as she came charging towards Mya, "Of course. Win or lose. One scream is all I want. You can call it sadistic...or you can call it an excercise in restraint." He ducked as a spear came flying over his head, "Whoa!" He was forced to jump backwards to avoid its return route.

Shiina's thin wire she'd attatched to her spear drew it back into her hands. "Don't you dare turn your back on me! Masamune!"

"Heh... Eager to die, are we?" Lowering his blade he vanished to Shiina's eyes, reappearing beside her, "You two...should learn a little patience. Sure the countdown was up...but no one had even said start yet. Let's try that again, shall we?" "Huh?" His knee connected with her lower back, knocking her forwards and into his heel.

He moved faster than she expected. Her body ached as she rolled on the ground, beat up from his hits.

"Ready? Start."

 

Mya snapped her head towards Scarlet dashing at her and raised her sword just in time to deflect her attack off her arm where her ribbon was located. "You should at least say 'start' or something. It's not nice to attack out of the blue like that..." She swung her leg at her feet, attempting to trip her to the ground.

 

"Ha. You're talking to me about not being nice when you're the one making these kinds of bets? Besides, the timer buzzed." While she spoke she performed a backflip, landing a good distance away from Mya. At the same time her tiger, Sol, ran to stand between Masamune and Shiina, ready to attack the PK the moment he made his next move.

That guy was so full of himself it was annoying. And was a bigger threat than this Mya character, as far as she could tell anyway. But Shiina seemed like she had the need to face him... Still, she had to help...

Planting her sword into the ground she twisted it as the blade glowed silver. No one could see them, not without the proper detection skill, but threads were spinning around the blade. They spun faster and faster before being shot out in all directions, covering the arena. This could be a double edged sword, especially to Shiina who did not know of her skill, but Sol would be there to guide Scarlet's partner.

After that she returned her focus on Mya, rushing in again though this time doing a sweeping kick.

 

Gritting his teeth at the presence of Scarlet's tiger standing between him and his target. "You think a pet is going to keep me at a distance?" He moved to the side as Shiina's spear came flying at him. His carefree smile disappeared as it started to come back. Grabbing hold of the heavy spear, he yanked hard. "That's quite enough of that."

Shiina waved off her growling and circling wolves, "Actually...it's just the beginning." Crouching, she whistled sharply, sending her black wolf, Kuro rocketing towards Masamune.

Kuro latched onto Masamune's arm, snarling and chewing. "Gross...slobbering mongrel. I prefer cats." Grabbing hold of Kuro's fur, he pulled off the wolf and chucked him towards the tiger, sprinting towards Shiina. "Easy come...easy go. Right, kiddo?" Snatching her arm, he twisted it behind her back and pressed the forearm of his left arm to her neck. "See, we can have a nice chat now." He turned a malevolent gaze towards Scarlet. "Your friend so tries to protect you all the while trying to win her own tournament. Isn't it all sounding so familiar to the time you remember oh so clearly? The very first time we met. You remember it, don't you? Why else would you have such a grudge with me. Go on...tell everyone why you hate me. Say it." "N-no..." "Say it!" Surprise flickered through him, chasing the feeling of anger throughout his body. "Say it, Shiina... You know you want to tell everyone. Why else would you keep telling people all about it the second you meet them!?" "I..." "Tell them Shiina!" "Y-you murdered my best friend!" Satisfied he grinned, "Now was that so hard?"

"No...and neither is this!" Mina, the grey and white wolf jumped onto his back, biting into his shoulder. It was enough to make him move back a ways. Ramming her elbow into his gut, he released her completely.

 

Mya frowned. "Better check your facts. I didn't make up the bet. He did. And it's especially awfully rude to make comments like that. I don't want false rumors about me ya know? I'm already getting enough talk about me just entering with him." She did a backflip to avoid her kick and then she dashed at her quickly, swinging her sword at her arm.

 

He was startled as Ittoki came up to him and asked him if he would like to sit with them.
This is weird... He thought, but he decided to do it anyway.
"Alright, I guess..."

OOC. You know... You do not necessarily have to reply to each other's posts... But if it makes it easier for you, I will keep that in mind for future posts.
