Hiya everyone

 

I suggest we have a theme - maybe we should go for drawing something we NEVER draw, for the sake of widening our own skills?
Example: If you usually only draw anime stuff - draw a bottle of water! Or if you like to draw sceneries, draw a werewolf instead! :3 Basicly the theme would be what you never draw ever.

My suggestion at least.

Well. I was wondering if you have any tips in drawing this picture:

Im drawing it right now but I need a little help on the skirt and legs....And her hair/head. Have any advise?

 

Hmm......

Might be a little hard helping you when I haven't seen what you've done so far.

Because it's under water, things like the hair and clothes will flow in ANY direction. So when you draw them, just go wild with the strokes of the pencil. You can follow the same direction as the ones used in the anime scan, but you don't have to draw it exactly like them - feel free to take some liberty.

And perspective. Guidelines will help you loads. Do you know the rules of basic perspective? *I can see if I can find something for you*

 

Well...I can scan what Ive done so far, but I have to leave -.-.....
Since I want it to be at least a little more...me....Im drawing the outfit a little different, the hair different, and her hand in going up towards the surface instead of to her side.
And, instead of the whole pool, Im drawing small bubbles for the water affect, plus like you said: The go wild with the hair and clothes movements.

That would be nice if you could post something. I will check it out when I get back

Also, Im not exactly sure about the top now...I thought I had it but the sleeve is too far down but thats how it is on there. Err...It looks very weird...Im thinking I should just draw from what I want since I made the perprotions (sp?)

 

Don't trust anime propotions blindly is all I can say. If anything, a real life photo is a better reference but no way if I can dig up one for you. *I suck at image searching*

Yeah ._. I changed the sleeve and the top, it feels better.
As for the bottom, Im still a little confused on how to start the bottom...And how to make the bottom flow right. Along with the hair.
Like I said before, the girl will not be the same one, if you remember the girl I usually draw then you can see my problem with the hair. Its longer and has a little more style to it ._.

Okay, I can help out a bit, at least in terms of proportions:

If you look at the girl on top (poor choice of words, sorry), she's about 3 1/4 heads long, so that can help on what's supposed to go where. I believe the same can be said for the second girl. I would recommend drawing a tilted line, in the same direction that two girls are in, and draw the circles along the line.
