"I can make myself unable to feel any pain and I have healing abilities." She said while looking at the wound on the girl's leg slightly. Karen cringed slightly and was debating on whether or not to sacfrice some items for this girl she didn't know. On one hand if they turned out to be friendly it'd be best for them to be in top shape. On the other...well, helping the enemy didn't sound so good. "Sadly, it is only self-healing, but I may have some things to help there..." She trailed off as she lifted up her messenger bag and place it on her lap and began to look through it. She had to do some digging, but soon found a small bottle of rubbing alcohol and handed it over to the girl. "I know it's not the best out there, but it's the best thing I got. No bandages though."

 

"Thanks, you seem to be prepared for anything" Crystal said, taking the bottle and rubbing it on her leg. "And since we're on the subject, I can phase through objects - basically walk through walls and I can fly, no wings though" She cringed slightly as it stung a little but she knew it was best in the long run. She was glad that Karen was on their side, even if it turn out as a nasty trick, she was still helping them. She sighed, not really wanting to do this but seeing no choice, she tore some more fabric off her jacket and wrapped it round her wound as a makeshift bandage, putting a small amount of alcohol on it first to disinfect it. She smiled, glad it was done and passed Karen her bottle back.

Bio: Before the disaster Joseph originally grew up in a wealthy family. His parents were the owners of the Mandolin French Winery brand and Mandolin formal wear clothing brand. When he was young, his parents moved from France to America to broaden their line. In America, Joseph’s parents struck oil and nearly quadrupled their income. With all the money, Joseph’s parents began to neglect Joseph, taking dropping money on him as a substitute for spending time with him. In place of family time he lived a fantastic rich boy life up until the disaster happened. Now all he has is a picture of him and his family in front of their mansion, and a wallet full of money he can’t remember how to use.
Personality: Joseph has a overall depressed and indifferent attitude. Loss of memory has hit him particularly hard, as sometimes he will suddenly forget simple motor control, like how to walk etc.
Power(s) : Joseph can control electricity, the electricity has in turn given him the ability to go into a state where all his senses are supercharged and he is overall more effective.

Bio: Richard is originally from Russia. Born into a heavily militarily involved family, it wasn’t a matter of choice to get training, it was more of a when. At the age of 9, Richard was sent to a child fighter factory and trained in worldwide fighting style, tactics, and over twenty-seven different languages, not including dialects. Released at 20, he was immediately put into Special Ops spy groups and sent on missions all over the world, easily getting his name spread around and earning him worldwide recognition. Now, he has been called by The Military to serve.
Personality: Richard is an all business man. He’s definitely frustrated with the fact that he’s more on border patrol than frontline action but still will die for his orders. Years of this line of work have made him cold and unfeeling toward his enemy and he won’t hold his trigger finger without a good reason.
Weapons:
1 & 2: Richard uses two custom-made .45 Magnum handguns.

Each handgun is designed with high-tech Russian Special Ops thumbprint security to protect from theft. The gun’s safety will remain on unless Richard and Richard only places his thumb on the thumbprint panel on the gun’s grip. The handguns also have more powerful hammer action than usual handguns making firing speed increase greatly. Each handgun has a short blade coming from the top of the gun about two feet long, in the style of a bayonet, making them ideal for both long range and close quarters combat. The pistols both have optional laser sighting.

The rifle also uses the thumbprint technology. His assault rifle has three different fire settings: Full Auto, Semi-Auto, and Three-Round Burst, to fit his current preference. The M4 uses an electronic round counter that shows the number of shots fired total and the current number of rounds in the magazine. Richard uses the M4 only in desperate conditions because of the bullets he has created especially for use on The Awakened. He adds small mines in each bullet that are rigged to explode if they pierce a person’s skin and trace Awakened blood. However, due to the expensiveness of these bullets he rarely uses this weapon. The rifle also has optional laser sighting.

 

Karen nodded and smiled slightly as she took the bottle and replaced it in her bag, burrying it once more. She then listened to the guy. Given her abilities and trust issues Karen never actually thought of leaving the area. It was a hard life, but she had a feeling she was living here. Even if the places and people were gone there could be still something to jog her memory. But in reality it was all false hope. But now... Now she could exit into the world past the border and learn what's out there. "That is true... But I did hear people fighting before, and not just today either. If they are still alive and out there, then we could ask for their help."

 

Crystal listened to both of them carefully, nodding. "You're suggesting we find and team up with every remaining Awakened and together stage a break out? Hmm, we could do but it's gonna be harder to hide with more people. And if they catch us all, that's it. We've all lost. But we've got to do something, we're gonna eventually run out of food, we can't stay here on the run forever. We have to break out of this dump, somehow" She said, thinking about their options.

 

Emilia couldn't contain a smile of accomplishment as the wall was blasted away to reveal that the Awakened was out of sight. This could be a fun night. The thought flashed through her mind all too soon, as the Horseman suddenly turned around, facing the end of the street where she was. As quickly as she could, she pressed her back to the building she had been hiding against. She held her breath and looked up, deciding to wait and see if the man had saw her peeking around the corner.

 

Crystal looked at the ground "I could fly over them or go straight though them but that's difficult for everyone else and to be honest, I don't think I'd manage to get out on my own, well at least not get very far. I might be able to get though, but it wouldn't take long for me to tire and them to get me." She shook her head "We need to work together, I'll do all I can to help you guys"

 

As he was walking down the street Leon noticed that it was empty and quiet. He knew that someone must of been found by the authorities and where getting hunted. Must of been a big one if no one was around. That or he was walking straight into a trap and every building he passed had soldiers waiting to pelt him with guns. The same time he got his powers everything went crazy. He hadn't seen anything yet, but he got the feeling that something was gonna go wrong for him. He continued walking with his cigarette hanging from his mouth knowing that if he kept going forward he'll eventually run into trouble or help.

 

Joseph’s eyes fluttered open slowly. They were a magnificent bright orange hue, a color brought on by some contacts he had purchased with his friends. Worth at least $500 per eye, the contacts are lifetime guaranteed and are self-hydrating. Of course he didn’t know that now. He opened his mouth but then closed it. Tears welled up in his eyes and his chest tightened. What the- huh? Breathe! The boy took his inner advice and opened his mouth, letting in a gulp of air. Joseph sighed and groaned, he felt a sharp pain in his left arm. He looked to the left to see his left shirt sleeve was ripped off and wrapped around his arm, soaked with blood. It was a Mandolin Original men’s white dress shirt. He didn’t know that either.

He felt something strange in his right hand. He opened his palm and looked inside, a bloody bullet laid there. The young man went into a short shock before looking back at his arm. Apparently, he had been shot and removed the bullet himself. The boy looked down to see his shirt was stained with blood also. He pushed himself off of the ground and looked around to see he was in an alley, a helicopter passed overhead. The sound of the chopper blades disoriented Joseph and made him lean against a wall. He felt something strange. Something was coming up. He clutched his stomach and leaned over, opening his mouth and spewing out some “leftovers.†It was funny because he couldn’t remember the last time he ate. Eating, something you do with food, it was coming back slowly.

The young man wiped his mouth with his still-intact right sleeve and up righted himself. He put his right leg forward to take a step, but doubled over quickly. He breathed heavily and turned his head, spitting up again. He coughed a few times before he caught his breath and sat up. Dammit! he thought. He realized he had forgotten how to...wait, what had he forgotten? Walking. Yes, he had forgotten how to walk. The boy got up again and used the wall for support. He put one foot forward at a time, slowly regaining control. He reached the end of the alleyway and looked around the corner. What the hell? he thought again. The boy saw a squad of soldiers guarding what appeared to be a borderline. He must have had his head around the corner too long because one of the soldiers caught sight of him.

“Hey! Dammit, I got one!†The soldier clutched his machine gun tightly and ran over to the alley, ready for contact. Joseph was not. “Don’t run and I’ll make this quick and painless!" The man turned the corner ready to fire but saw…nothing. He looked up just in time to see a figure bound over a fence. He took the opportunity to fire, getting off a few shots before he turned around and headed back to his post.

Ahh! Ah! ****! Joseph thought as he ran. Who is he and what does he want with me?! He saw a fence in front of him and immediately thought he was done for. Jump damn it jump! He nodded to himself and leaped over the obstruction. Wind blew through his hair as he soared. He turned his head slightly to look behind him, but saw a bullet in its flight path of death whiz past him. He landed from his jump and kept running. He didn’t know how he was doing all this, his body seemed to be working on its own. He jumped over a toppled trash can and ran along a wall to avoid a pile of trash, from the wall run he jumped over another fence. He felt so free, so fast, it was exhilarating gliding through the air. The boy looked back and saw the soldier had stopped pursuing him so he slowed down.

“H-how did I do that?†He asked himself. He turned his head just in time to see another fence. He wasn’t quite high enough and his foot banged against the top of it, sending him over and onto a dumpster. “Ack!†A groan of pain escaped his lips as his torso slammed into the dumpster and he toppled onto the ground. “S-somebody help me…†He said with almost all of his breath. Good thing he remembered to breathe.

 

Karen sighed quietly, knowing that they had to do something she didn't want to. "Well, all of the action is out there. And you two may of stumbled upon my hiding place, but who knows how long it'd take for someone else to do so as well. And it's likely that the next group of people to come here will be soliders or those horsemen guys. So we should get out there and look for people to help us; after you're rested, of course." She added towards the girl. She then leaned her head back and closed her eyes, thinking over how this would work out while also trying to pull up a visual map of the area out of memory.

 

Sh*t. Emilia could feel her heart racing. She forced herself to breathe. Only then did she notice that she was shaking -- from the fear or the stress, she didn't know what. She had to clear her mind; think of something. She looked up. There was a fire escape a couple of floors up, but there was no way that she could reach the ladder. Unless... After peeling herself away from the wall, she positioned herself under the ladder. She held her palms down towards the ground, and the ground slowly elevated, allowing her to grab onto the thin metal ladder. But her concentration was lost once she grabbed on, and the unstable earth that had been raised sunk back to ground level, leaving her dangling a story above the concrete. Dammit! She had always lacked upper-body strength. After struggling for a few seconds, she let go and landed with a thud back on the broken sidewalk.

 

Crystal frowned, she did not like to be the one holding the group back and handicapping them. Not the first impression she'd of liked. "No" She said, standing up to prove her point, "I'm fine, don't worry about me. It's only a skin wound, hardly serious. We can go as soon as you two are ready." She hoped she was making the right choice, she just hated to be seen as weak. "And yeah, I hope there are many like us out there"

 

Karen's mouth went into something of a sideways frown as she thought this over. A weaker link to hold off the opposing forces sounded nice...but was this too cruel of her? It's not that. I mean, she's the one who wants to leave now. And I don't have to stop to help her per say... Not unless it'd be best to do so that is. She sighed mentally, wondering how she became so cyncial, which of course led to her thinking of the past and wanting out of this place to learn of it as soon as possible. So again, could she leave this girl behind if it meant self-preservation? Well, when the time came, if it did, she'd find out then. Best thing to do was to just not think about it till then. "Alright, I'm ready to go. But we should go out the back way, cause walking in the middle of the streets always proved to be a bad thing for me."

 

Crystal nodded, "That's probably the best idea" She looked at Aiden waiting for what he had to say. She could see Karen was street-wise, practical, she knew what to do and how to handle herself, probably a good person to have around. Yet, there was something about the girl that made Crystal hesitate to put all her faith and trust in her. Aiden on the other hand, even though she had only just met him, she already trusted him. She knew that maybe she shouldn't be so quick to trust someone but Aiden made her feel safe almost, if that existed at the moment. She would turn to him for advice and trust in his judgement. He was no immature little boy and could handle himself pretty well. She liked her new little group she only hoped they thought as well of her.

 

Karen went to the back of the club and climbed through the hole. She was surprised the man could fit through it, being much larger than she was. She covered her mouth, hiding a faint smile. She quickllly pushed her thoughts aside and looked down the alleyway while awaiting the girl to come out.

 

Crystal quickly climbed out after them and looked around, checking for danger though she knew the others probably would have already raised the alarm if there was, "Which way should we go first?" She asked, rubbing her neck, smiling.
