The Chronicles of Narnia: The Middle

Prince Caspian waited quietly for Elizabeth to explain herself, because in reality he seemed to be just as confused about them as they were about him. They looked as Telmarines but didn't have knowledge of Anvard, being a Telmarine, or even the thing that everyone knew, that he was Prince Caspian the Tenth. As he waited his eyes slowly drifted back to where was Alexandria, despite the way she had treated him, she was rather beautiful.

 

Elizabeth, releaved to see he was willing to talk instead of just running off, smiled cheerfully, "Well Finchley is in England, although I'm not sure exactly how that relates to Narnia..." she admited, "We're here because we were running from bombs and somehow ended up in this forest. After awhile of walking we met Trufflehunter who told us some things but said that others could tell us more. We don't know anything about this place or what's going on, if you could tell us anything, it would really help."

 

Prince Caspian tried as hard as he could to understand what Elizabeth was saying to him, however her explanation actually confused him more than before. "So...this Finchley...of England?...it doesn't lie here in Narnia?" he said tilting his head slightly, "and this...Trufflehunter is it?...is he here with you?" he said glancing over at the others of their group.

 

"As far as we know, no, England is in Europe." Elizabeth answered, looking around to the group too. "Trufflehunter was here, but when we ran down here, when you fell off your horse, he didn't come with us. Maybe he ran off?..." she looked up to where he had been.

 

"I don't know," William answered his twin. "I think he stayed in the forest."

 

"Oh," Alexandria breathed. "Well I guess that makes sense."

 

Prince Caspian nodded softly starting to comprehend what she was saying, he wasn't quite sure of their origin however but he would research and figure that out with time hopefully. He looked over at the area Elizabeth was gazing over at, "so he left you guys out here all alone...well if you need directions I would be very happy to oblige..." he said gently.

 

"Where are you going?" Elizabeth asked, looking back at him hurriedly. Maybe we can come with you if it's not too much trouble. We don't really know where we are or where we're supposed to be going."

 

"I'll go see where he is," Wiliam told Alexandria and ran back over to the trees. "Trufflehunter?" He called.

 

Trufflehunter came out from one of the bushes. "You're taking a risk... That's a Telmarine soldier."

 

Prince Caspian smiled softly and nodded once, "of course...I would be more than happy to escort you back to Anvard...and once there you shall be treated as my special guests..." he said his eyes gently landing on Alexandria. "In fact...perhaps my professor...maybe he would be able to help you out further...plus I would love to learn more of your travels and land..."

 

"He says he's Caspian the tenth," William murmured.

 

Trufflehunter's small eyes widened. "Oh my.... Well I think it's time that we go now. This isn't good at all."

 

"That sounds great!" Elizabeth said happy to be getting answers from someone. "Where is Anvard?" she added, unable to keep from asking even more questions.

 

"He doesn't like a mean Telmarine..." William said.

 

"Appearences are deceiving in Narnia," Trufflehunter said wisely.

 

Prince Caspian turned and pointed out south, "its just a little south from the mountains...quite a bit west from the river...unfornately it is quite a walk...but it shouldn't be too bad with company..." he said with a slight smile. "That is if you will let the rest of your group know of our plan miss Elizabeth..."

 

"We'll stay with you then," Wiliam decided and ran back to others. "Alex, Luke, Trufflehunter said that we should stay away from this Telmarine."

 

"See?" Alexandria said in a sing-song voice. "I told you that Trufflehunter is smart."

 

Elizabeth smiled and nodded before hurrying to the others. "Caspian says that he can take us to Anvard and maybe get us some help there. What do you think?" she asked, excitedly and unaware of the unhappy feelings Trufflehunter was putting out about him.
